ランチ後、軽井沢の友人RIさんは車で、私と夫Rを、
ランチ前、ランチについては下記。
ここはプロテスタント教会ですが、1965年からキリスト教徒でなくとも結婚式を挙げられるようになりました。
現在、日本ではこういった教会は多く見受けられますが、1965年
当時は少なかったようで、キリスト教徒でない花嫁がウエディングドレスを着られる教会として有名になったそうです。
元々この教会に受け継がれた精神がブライダル事業に反することがなかったからだと思われます。

| 軽井沢高原教会 1921年に設立 Karuizawa Kogen Church Established in 1921  軽井沢高原教会 近くに建っている'軽井沢聖パウロカトリック教会'の 設計はアントニン･レーモンド(1888 -1976)です。 ですが、この教会の設計が誰なのか 私には見つけることができませんでした。 2つの教会は似ているので、2つとも レーモンドの仕事なのかもしれません。 私は'軽井沢聖パウロカトリック教会'は見なかったので 次回があれば訪れてみたいです。 Karuizawa Kogen Church The near by'Karuizawa St. Paul's Catholic Church' was designed by Antonin Raymond (1888 - 1976). But I couldn't find out who the designer of this church was. The two churches are similar, so they may both be Raymond's work. I haven't seen the Karuizawa St. Paul's Catholic Church, so I would love to visit it next time. |
Weddings
After lunch, my friend RI in Karuizawa drove I and my husband R to the Karuizawa Kogen Church.
About before lunch and lunch, below.
This is a Protestant church, but since 1965 it has been possible for non-Christians to have a wedding here.
Currently, there are many such churches in Japan, but it seems that there were few such churches in 1965, and it is said that it became famous as a church where non-Christian brides can wear wedding dresses.
What happened in 1965 was that it began to be used for the bridal business of Hoshino Onsen (now Hoshino Resorts).
This is probably because the spirit that was originally inherited by this church did not go against the bridal business.

| 芸術自由教育講習会 軽井沢高原教会は、1921年(大正10年)に、 "芸術自由教育講習会" が星野温泉敷地内の材木小屋で 開かれたのが原点になっています。 講習会には 内村鑑三 (ウチムラ カンゾウ / 1861 - 1930)、 北原白秋 (キタハラ ハクシュウ / 1885 - 1942)、 島崎藤村 (シマザキ トウソン / 1872 - 1943) が参加しています。 Art Free Education Lecture Class The origin of the Karuizawa Kogen Church is that the "Art Free Education Lecture Class" was held in 1921 in a timber hut on the premises of Hoshino Onsen. 内村鑑三は "遊ことも善なり、遊びもまた学びなり" の理念のもと
材木小屋を "星野遊学堂" と名づけました。
また彼は、"神がもたらした自然の中にこそ誓いの場がある" と説きました。
子供の頃覚えた '上毛かるた' に、内村鑑三の札もあり、そのフレーズ(下記)を今でも覚えています。
実は、このフレーズはしっかり覚えていたものの、実際に内村鑑三がどんな人であったのか、どんなことを成し遂げたのかは、知りませんでした。
1901年に無教会主義を唱えた人であったということも、恥ずかしながら知りませんでした。
規律に縛られない内村のキリスト教は、より神の真髄に近いように私には感じられます。
少し前にあげた熊野・南紀旅行のブログ内で、太っ腹な熊野の神々について書きました。
内村鑑三の唱えるキリスト教もその熊野の神々に通じるものを感じます。
規律を決めるのはデキの悪い人間なのですから、神の本随はそんな規律で縛られるものではないと私は思います。
でもまあ、皮肉なことに、デキが悪い人間ほど規律が必要になってしまうのかもしれません。(規律と道徳は違うと私は考えています。道徳心がない人には規律が必要なのです)
軽井沢高原教会の近くに、内村鑑三の無教会主義と結びついた、
"石の教会・内村鑑三堂" : ★があります。

Uchimura Kanzō named the timber hut "Hoshino Yugakudō" based on the philosophy of "playing is good and playing is also learning".

He also explained that "here is a place of oath set in the nature that God has given."
I'm from Gunma prefecture, so I'm familiar with Jomo Karuta Cards.
According to Jomo Karuta Card, website,
"Jomo is an old name for Gunma Prefecture.
Karuta is a Japanese card game played mainly during the New Year holidays.
Jomo Karuta is comprised of 45 picture and word cards, each of which depicts Gunma's historical figures, geographical features, cultural activities, etc."
There is also a card about Uchimura, which I remembered when
I was a child, and I still remember the phrase, below.
"Lighthouse of the heart, Uchimura Kanzō"
Actually, I remembered this phrase well, but I didn't know what kind of person Uchimura Kanzō was and what he achieved.
I was ashamed to know that the Non-church Movement is an indigenous Japanese Christian movement which was founded by Uchimura Kanzō in 1901.
Uchimura's Christianity, which is not bound by discipline, seems to me closer to the essence of God.
I wrote about the big‐hearted Kumano Gods in the Kumano ・Nanki Trip blog I mentioned a while ago.
I feel that the Christianity advocated by Uchimura and the Gods of Kumano are having elements in common.
I don't think God's essence is bound by such discipline, because it is the people who decide the discipline.
But, ironically, the worse the people, the more discipline may be needed.
(I think discipline and morality are different. Discipline is needed for those who are not moral.)
Near the Karuizawa Kogen Church, there is
"Uchimura Kanzo Memorial Stone Church": ★, which is linked to Uchimura Kanzo's non-churchism.

| 屋根のある建物...なんと呼ぶのでしょう？ A building with a roof ... what do you call it?  屋根の下にはアドヴェンドカレンダーと思われる 飾り付けがされていました。 クリスマスに向かって1つづ灯される数字が 増えてゆくのではないかと想像します。 Under the roof, there was a decoration that seems to be an Advent calendar. I imagine that the numbers that are lit one by one will increase toward Christmas. |

| 巨大なリースが複数設置されています。 記念撮影用かと推測し、 Rにリースの中に入ってもらって撮影しましたが ここでは消えてもらっています(笑)。 There are multiple huge wreaths installed. I guessed it was for a commemorative photo, so I asked R to enter the wreath and photographed, however, here he disappears (Laugh). |
