Pinpoint Gallery
ピンポイント・ギャラリーは、2019年9月に移転し、再オープンしました。
9月1日にプレ・レセプションがあり、2通も招待状を送っていただいていました。
きっと夫Rの分も考慮してくださったのでしょう。
ありがとうございました。
残念ながら、私達は英国滞在中で、伺うことができませんでした。
私は、ピンポイント・ギャラリーに、オーナーのSさんに公私に渡り、本当にお世話になりました。
英国留学の際にも、熱心に面倒を見ていただきました。
私の作品傾向が、ピンポイント・ギャラリーとは違う路線に行ってしまい、ギャラリーでの展覧会は開かなくなってしまい、寂しい気持ちがします。
新しい場所で、再スタートするピンポイント・ギャラリーのますますの発展とご成功をお祈りいたします。
Sさん、お体、大切にお過ごしください。

Pinpoint Gallery
Pinpoint Gallery relocated and reopened in September 2019.
There was a pre-reception on 1st of September, and they sent me two invitations.
I'm sure they also considered my husband R, as well.
Thank you very much.
Unfortunately, we still were in Britain and couldn't visit.
The gallery owner, S san helped me professionally and privately, and
I really appreciate.
She took good care of me when I was studying in Britain.
I feel a little sad because my work tendency goes on a different way from the Pinpoint Gallery, and I no longer hold my exhibitions in the Gallery.
I wish them the best of luck and success in their new location.
S san, please take good care of yourself.
2) 絵本 / Picture Book
A. イラストレーターの真実さん
Illustrator, Mami san
鈴木 真実さんは、イラストレイターをしつつ、長い間、ピンポイント・ギャラリーでアシスタントをされていました。
私は彼女とピンポイント・ギャラリーで出会いました。
彼女の笑顔はとても魅力的です。
私がピンポイント・ギャラリーで、個展をしたときには、肉体的にも精神的にも彼女に助けられました。
ありがとうございました。
彼女からピンポイント・ギャラリーを卒業した、丁寧なお知らせカードが届いていました。
そして、彼女の個展のお知らせDMが届きました。
ぜひ、行きたい！と思い、この日、夫Rと共に、新しいピンポイント・ギャラリーに初めて行きました。
現代美術館のような建物で、都会的でした。
内部は、以前よりも縦に長い空間になっていて、それの現代アート風に私には感じられました。
階段の踊り場の壁には、映像を映し出す装置も設定され、新しい在り方の、ピンポイント・ギャラリーを感じました。
以前は地下で自然光が全く入りませんでしたが、新しい建物では、
正面に小さいながら窓があり、光が入ります。
実は、私達は翌日から熊野へ旅行でした。
宿泊する羽田空港近くのホテルでチェックインをし、ギャラリーへ
向かいました。
山登りの服装でしたので、東京では浮き気味でしたが、仕方ありません。
ギャラリーでも、すぐに真実さんに
「山登りですか？」
と言い当てられ、
「そうなんですよ〜」
と.... (苦笑)。
とにかく、ギャラリーへ行くことができ、真実さんの絵を見ることができ、ホッとしました。

| 挨拶状 "Leaving Greeting Card" |
Mami Suzuki is an illustrator, and had been an assistant in Pinpoint Gallery for a long time.
I met her in Pinpoint Gallery.
Her smile is very attractive.
When I had my exhibitions in Pinpoint Gallery, she helped me physically and mentally.
Thank you very much.
I received a polite notification card : "Leaving Greeting Card" from her, when she was leaving Pinpoint Gallery as assistant.
And I received an invitation card about her exhibition.
I definitely want to go! So, on this day, I went to the new Pinpoint Gallery for the first time with R.
It is a building like the Museum of Contemporary Art, and is urban style.
The interior is longer than before, and for me, it is a contemporary art style.
Onto the wall of the landing of the stairs, a device can project images, and I felt a new way for Pinpoint Gallery.
Previously, there was no natural light in their basement location, but the new building has a small window in the front that allows light to enter.
Actually, the next day we were due to travel to Kumano Region on the southern part of the Kii Peninsula in Japan.
We had checked into a hotel near Haneda Airport where we would stay, and headed to the gallery.
I was dressed for mountain climbing, so I felt I did not belong in central Tokyo, but I couldn't help it.
B. 原画展 / Original Picture Exhibition
真実さんの絵は、少なからず見ていましたし、1作品購入もしていました。
(購入した絵は英国の家に飾っています）
けれども、絵本は一度も見たことがなく、彼女の絵本の原画を見るのも初めてでした。
私が見た彼女のイラストレーションの多くには、柔らかなタッチと
ユーモラスなアイディアがありました。
私は彼女のユーモラスなセンスが好きです。
絵本の絵は、柔らかなタッチはそのままですが、ユーモラスな表現はなく、ストレートにお話に忠実に描かれています。
ユーモラスな表現の代わりに、好奇心旺盛そうな、いらずら好きな
小鳥達が描かれています。
小鳥達は主人公のリスの兄と妹を見守る、守護神であり、作者の分身でもあるのかなと感じます。
そして、鳥達の描写は、読み手に発見の喜びを与えてくれます。
雪の世界ですが、絵もお話も暖かい...これは成功ですか？失敗ですか？(笑)
(真実さんは、雪の世界にかかわらず暖かく感じる絵本を作りたかったのですよね？）
新しい絵本は、この日に購入しましたが、旅行に出るので、受け取りは後日にしました。

Original Picture Exhibition
This exhibition was the original picture exhibition of Mami san's 5th picture book.
I have seen quite a few of Mami san's pictures, and we had bought one.
(The picture we bought is displayed in our house in Britain.)
However, I had not seen one of her picture books, and this was my first time to see the original pictures of her new book.
Most of her illustrations I had seen have her soft touch and humorous ideas.
I like her humorous flair.
The pictures in this picture book retain her soft touch, but not the humorous expressions, they are drawn straight and faithful to the story.
Instead of humorous expressions, little curious birds that seem to be mischievous are there.
I feel that the little birds are guardian deities who watch over squirrel brother and sister, the main characters, and are also the alter ego of the author.
The depictions of the birds give the reader the joy of discovery.
It's a snowy world, but the pictures and the story are warm ... is this
a success? Is it a failure? (Laugh)
(Mami san wanted to make a picture book that feels warm even in
a snowy world, right?)
We bought her new picture book on this day, but we would go on
a trip, so we picked it up at a later date.

| 帯付き表紙 新刊の表紙は、帯がつくことを見越して デザインされると聞いています。 ですが、絵本の場合はどうなのでしょう？ Book Cover with Obi I heard that the cover of a new book would be designed in anticipation of the obi being around it. But what about picture books? Obi is a strip of paper looped around a book or other product.  帯なし表紙 お話も絵の展開の仕方も、基本に忠実に、 そして素直に丁寧に作られているのを感じます。 その真っ直ぐさに心が洗われます。 厳選された言葉が使用されています。 幼い子の目線になって作られた素敵な絵本です。 Without Obi The story and the way the pictures are shown follow the golden rules of children's book. And I feel that the book is made straight-forwardly and carefully. The honesty washed my heart. Carefully selected words are used. This is a wonderful picture book made from the perspective of a little child.  雪だるまのリス 裏表紙に真実さんのユーモラスを見つけました。 小鳥とリス達が作った雪だるまですね。 Snowman Squirrel I found Mami san's humour on the back cover. It's a snowman made by the little birds and squirrels, isn't it?  |

| 後日届いた礼状カード 以前は私もこのような礼状を出していましたが、 いまはもうしていません。 ですが、何事も丁寧な真実さんは 実行しています。 Thank You Note Card This arrived at a later date. I used to give a thank-you note like this, but now I don't. However, Mami san does, she is polite for everything. |
