| パンフレット裏・表 Leaflet Front and Back in Japanese I and my husband R took a tour to see the autumn colours in Naeba in Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture. The main part of this tour is to take the 'Naeba Dragondola Tashiro Ropeway' and see the autumn colours. Our tour used the Tashiro Ropeway to climb the summit and down to the foot of the Dragondola. This section is about the Dragondola. About Tashiro Ropeway is the previous section , below. |
Dragondola is a gondola operated by Prince Hotel that connects
"Naeba Ski Resort : Naeba Kogen ; Naeba highlands" and
"Kagura Ski Resort : Tashiro Kogen ; Tashiro Naeba ".
With a total length of 5,481m, it is the longest gondola in Japan,
and it takes about 15 minutes in winter and 25 minutes in non-winter
between Dragondola Sanroku (foot of Mountain) Station and Dragondola Sancho (Summit) Station.
It opened in 2001.
2) ドラゴンドラの名前 / Name of Dragondola
ツアーに参加中、私は、"ドラゴンドラ" の名前が覚えられなくて、
「ゴルゴンゾーラ (チーズの名前)」
と呼んで、添乗員さんに笑われてしまいました。
(Rには何度も言ってました）
添乗員さんには、
「似てますよね」
と慰められました...。(似てますか〜？？？）
ドラゴンドラの正式名は、'苗場 - 田代ゴンドラ' です。
最近は、"ドラゴンドラ"の名前を全シーズンに渡り、押し出しているようです。
新緑シーズンには、"新緑のドラゴンドラ"、紅葉シーズンは、
"紅葉のドラゴンドラ" という名称で営業しています。
松任谷 由実 (1954 ~ )さんが、"ドラゴンドラ"の名付け親です。
彼女は、1981年から現在に至るまで、毎年苗場プリンスホテルで
コンサートを続けており、日本国内で一人のアーティストが毎年続けているイベントとしては、最長記録を更新中です。
"ドラゴンドラ"の由来は、ゴンドラから見える山々がドラゴンのようであることらしいです。

Name of Dragondola
During the tour, I couldn't remember the name "Dragondola" and
I called it
"Gorgonzola (the name of the cheese)"
Our tour conductor laughed.
(I told R many times)
The tour conductor comforted me
"It's similar, isn't it?"
(Is it similar ~ ???)
The official name of Dragondola is 'Naeba -Tashiro Gondola'.
Recently, it seems that the name "Dragondola" has been promoted throughout the seasons.
In spring they call it "Fresh Green Dragondola" and "Autumn Colours Dragondola" in autumn colours season.
A popular singer, Yumi Matsutoya (1954 ~) gave the gondola the name, "Dragondola".
From 1981 to the present, she has been performing in the Naeba Prince Hotel every year, setting the longest record for a single artist's annual event in Japan.
The origin of "Dragondola" seems to be that the mountains seen from the gondola are like dragons.
3) ゴンドラ・ジャーニー / Gondola Journey
ドラゴンドラの写真全て、ガラス越しの撮影です。
なので、レフレクション(反射)が入っています。
All photographs from the Dragondola were taken through the glass.
Therefore, they contain reflections.

| ドラゴンドラの窓には周辺の山の説明がされています。 でも私には、実際の山の見分けはつきませんでした。 山探しよりも、紅葉の風景に目を奪われていました。 The windows of Dragondola explain the surrounding mountains. But I couldn't tell which mountain was which. I was more fascinated by the scenery of autumn leaves than looking for mountains. |

| ドラゴンドラの特徴の1つは、ただ降りてゆくのでなく、 山間を上下するところです。 最長であるが故の特徴ですね。 One of the characteristics of Dragondola is that it does not just descend, but goes up and down the mountains. It is a feature because it is the longest, isn't it? |

| スコットランドの高原 (Glen Affric & Beinn Fhada) ドラゴンドラから見た二居湖の景色が どこかで見た景色とよく似ているなーと思いました。 後になって、それはスコットランドであったと 気がつきました。 これはグレン・コー(Glen Coe)に行った時に 購入したポストカードです。 Scottish Highlands I thought that the scenery of Lake Futai from Dragondola is very similar to the scenery that I saw somewhere. Later I realized that it was in Scotland. This is a postcard I bought when I went to Glen Coe. |

| 予想外! 川辺に向かって降りて行きます。 ここもジェットコースター感があります。 Unexpectedly! It descends toward the riverside. There is also a roller coaster feeling here.   |

| ドラゴンドラ山麓駅 ここ何年かで経験した最長の行列です。 ちなみにトイレ(婦人用)の行列も凄かった！ 建物に書かれた名称を見て、やっぱり正式名は、 '苗場 - 田代ゴンドラ' であると認識します。 This is the longest queue I have experienced in the last few years. By the way, the queue for toilets (for women) was horrific! Looking at the name written on the building, I recognize that the official name is 'Naeba-Tashiro Gondola'. |
