1) テムズ川に沿って / Along River Thames
私と夫Rは、セントラル・ロンドンに出かけ、テムズ川に沿って、
ブラックフライアーズ駅 / Blackfriars Stationから、テート・モダンへ歩きました。

I and my husband R went to Central London and walked along the River Thames to Tate Modern from Blackfriars Station.

テムズ川を行き交う観光船や、ロンドンのビル群を眺めるのは楽しいです。
英国へ来るたびに新しいタワービルができているように思います。

It's fun to see the tourist boats that cross the Thames, and the buildings of London.
I feel there are new tower buildings every time I come to Britain.

セントポール大聖堂
英国へきたら、テイト・モダンに必ずゆくので、

自ずとセントポール大聖堂は見ることになります。
その建物を見るたびに、「あっ！セントポール大聖堂がある！」

と喜んで撮影してしまいます。
テート・モダンの建物内からもセントポール大聖堂は見え、
その時もまた撮影します。
実際に大聖堂を訪れたのは、何年も前、一度きりです。
大聖堂は、クリストファー・レン (1632 -1723) の設計で、
1710年に、バロック建築として再建されました。
クリストファー・レン の名前を久しぶりに聞きました....。

St. Paul's Cathedral

When I come to Britain, I definitely go to Tate Modern,

so I naturally see St. Paul's Cathedral.

Every time I look at the building, "Oh, there is St. Paul's Cathedral!”

I happily take a photograph.

I can see St. Paul's Cathedral from inside the Tate Modern building,

and I take photographs again at that time.

I actually visited the Cathedral only once many years ago.

The Cathedral was designed by Christopher Wren (1632 -1723)

and was rebuilt in 1710, it's style is known as Baroque architecture.

I heard the name of Christopher Wren after a long time.

2) イベントの告知 / Event Announcement

A. 明るい絵 / Bright Pictures

ブラックフライアーズ駅から、テート・モダンの間に、いつもイベントの告知があります。

私の記憶としては、いつも企画は子供がらみ...いつも明るい絵柄を見ることができます。

"Thames Festival Trust" という団体が、干満があるテムズ川で独特なアート・イベントを発表しています。

私は英国の滞在期間に限りがあるので、この告知を見ることはできますが、残念ながら多くの場合、イベントそのものを見ることはできません。

なので、より一層、その告知を楽しみにしています。

Bright Pictures

There are always event announcements between Blackfriars station and Tate Modern.

In my memory, projects are  always child-friendly... I can always see bright pictures.

"Thames Festival Trust" is presenting a unique art event on the tidal Thames River.

I can see this announcement but unfortunately I usually can't see the events due to my limited stay in Britain.

So I look forward to the announcements even more.

B. イリヤ＆エミリア・カバコフ / Ilya and Emilia Kabakov 

今回のプロジェクトは、The Ship of Tolerance / 寛大な船 : ★で、

現代美術のアーティスト、

イリヤ＆エミリア・カバコフ / Ilya and Emilia Kabakov (1933 ~ / 1945 ~) 

によるものです。

私は、このアーティストのご夫妻を知りませんでした。

本当に、色々なことを知らず、知らないことに気がつかされるたびに、ちょっと落ち込み、そして、自分にとって必要なことだけ知ればいいし、記憶に残ればいいのだと自分を励まします。

イリヤ＆エミリア・カバコフの出身は、旧ソビエト連邦 (現ウクライナ)です。

1992年から夫婦になり、ニューヨークへ移住、現在もニューヨークにお住まいです。

自由を基盤にするアーティストは、共産圏では生きにくいし、作品を発表しずらいと容易に察しられます。

イリヤは、挿絵画家、コンセプチュアル・アーティストです。

エミリアは、学芸員であり、アートアドバイザーでもあります。

彼らは、1989年から活動を共にしています。

This project is The Ship of Tolerance : ★ by contemporary art artists
Ilya and Emilia Kabakov (1933 ~ / 1945 ~) .

I didn't know this artists couple.

Really I don't know many things, and when I realize I don't know a thing every time, 
I am a little depressed, though I encourage myself that it is alright, I just know what 
I need and remember.

Ilya & Emilia Kabakov, married in 1992, came from the former Soviet Union 

(now Ukraine) and moved to New York in 1992.

I could easily guess that freedom-based artists find it hard to live in the communist zone and difficult to publish.

Ilya is an illustration artist and conceptual artist.

Emilia is a curator and an art adviser.

They have been working together since 1989.

この撮影がモスクワでされたことに驚きました。
彼らは、亡命者ではなく、移住者なので、ロシア連邦 (ソビエト連邦)

へ戻れるのでしょうね。

I was surprised that this photographing was done in Moscow.
They are immigrants, not exiles, 

so they are able to return to the Russian Federation (Soviet Union), aren't they?

C. 寛容な船  / The Ship of Tolerance 

The Ship of Tolerance : ★

According to the Website,
 "The project includes an extensive outreach programme which engages schools, community groups
and cultural organisations in workshops designed to discuss tolerance
and diversity among cultures, races and ideas."

下記、 サイトの説明より
"このプロジェクトには、学校、コミュニティグループ、文化団体が

ワークショップに参加し、
文化、人種、アイデアの寛容性や多様性について話し合う、

広範なプログラムが含まれています。"

「'寛大の船'は、壊れた人間関係を修復し、つながりを創り出すという、

人々を結びつけるプロジェクトです。

どういうわけか子供たちだけでなく大人にも奇妙なことに

目標を明確にしました。」

エミリア・カバコフ

このプロジェクトは、2005年にエジプトで開始され、
その後、ベニス (イタリア)、サンモリッツ (スイス)、

シャルージャ市 (アラブ首長国連邦)、マイアミ ( アメリカ)、ハバナ (キューバ)、

モスクワ(ロシア連邦)、ニューヨーク、ツーク (スイス)、

ローマ (イタリア)、ロストック(ドリツ)で行われました。

In 2005, the project started in Egypt and then it carried on in Venice (Italy ), 

San Moritz (Switzerland), Sharjah ( United Arab Emirates), Miami(USA), Havana (Cuba), 

Moscow (Russian Federation), New York (USA), 

Zug (Switzerland), Rome (Italy) and Rostock (Germany). 

2005年からプロジェクトがスタートして、テムズ川で発表されるまで10 年余の長い月日がかかるのですね。

企画はそれよりも前ですね。

違う国々と 同じ ことを一緒にしようというのは大変なことだと感じます。

それでも、時間と努力をかければ、成し遂げられるのだと、このプロジェクトは見せてくれます。

ただ、アジアの諸国がここに含まれていないことが残念です。

綺麗ですね〜！

2019年9月4日から10月6日にテムズ川で 展示

私は見ることができませんでした。

"このプロジェクトは、2010年に最優秀アートプロジェクトオブザイヤーの

名誉あるカルティエ賞を受賞しました。" (サイトより)

This is beautiful, isn't it?

Exhibited on Thames River from 4th of September to 6th of October, 2019.

I couldn't see it.

 "The project was awarded the prestigious 

Cartier Prize for the Best Art Project of the Year in 2010."

It is more than 10 years since the project started in 2005 and it could be presented on the Thames.

The plan was earlier than that.

I feel it is difficult to do the same thing with different countries.

Still, with the time and efforts, this project shows that it can be achieved.

Just one thing, it is a pity that Asian countries are not included here.
