私と夫Rは、ユトレヒトのオルゴール博物館へのあと、建物を見て回りました。

最後の火災の後、新しい教会の建物が建てられました(1279年-1553年)。
塔は1370年に建てら始められましたが、当初の計画の、通りには完成せず、高さは55mで(志半ばで？）1388年に工事は終わっています。
その後建物は人口の増加に伴って何度か改修され、3つの通路を持つホール教会になりました。
ブールケク教会はユトレヒトで最大かつ最も裕福な教区教会でした。
1569年、ブールケク教会には約3万人の都市人口のうち約8,000人の聖体拝領者(洗礼を受けている人) がいました。
1975年に教会は廃墟となり、大規模な改修後、1984年に博物館 (のちにオルゴール博物館)になりました。

私達がユトレヒトを訪ねた時はドム塔が修理中で、'足場'で覆われていました。
エンパイヤ・ステート・ビルのようでした。

Buurkerk church
The church was burnt down several times by city fires in 1131, 1173, 1253 and 1279.
After the last fire, a new church building was built (1279-1553).
The tower began to be built in 1370, but was not completed as originally planned, is 55m high and was completed in 1388.
The building was subsequently renovated several times as the population grew, resulting in a hall church with three ailses.
The Buurkerk was the largest and richest parish church in Utrecht.
In 1569, the Buurkerk had about 8,000 communicants out of a city population of about 30,000 people.
In 1975 the church fell into disuse and after thorough restoration, it became
a museum (later Music Speelklok) in 1984.

オルゴール博物館 : 旧ブールケク教会
建物の東側 (下) と北側 (右) には他の建物に囲まれています。 また最初から教会は家々の中に建てられていました。 当初から周囲に広場などはなかったということですね。
だから都市火災に数回巻き込まれてしまったのかもしれません。
教会の周囲に墓地があったり広場があったりするのは
都市火災を防ぐことにも繋がっていたのだな〜と今更ながら思います。
Music Speelklok : Former Buurkerk church
The eastern (bottom) and northern (right) sides of the building
are surrounded by other buildings.
From the beginning, the church was built right next to houses.
It means that from the beginning there were no open spaces around.
Therefore it may have been involved several times in city fires.
I think that the fact that there are graveyards and squares
around most churches may have also helped prevent city fires.

Pieter Jansz. Saenreda
ピーテル・ヤンス・サーンレダム / Pieter Jansz. Saenreda (1597 -1665) は、オランダの画家です。
教会の内部を描いた作品で知られています...ということを私は今回、知りました。
サーンレダムの油彩画は50程残っていて、そのうちの半分はハールレムの聖バーフ聖堂 / Cathedral of Saint Bavoとユトレヒトの教会堂を描いたものです。
『一七世紀の光-オランダ建築画の巨匠サーレンダム』（岩波書店、2009）
を書いています。

Pieter Jansz. Saenreda (1597 -1665) was a Dutch painter.
Later I found out that he is known for his work depicting the interiors of churches.
His father was a Northern Mannerism printmaker.
[My personal view of Mannerism is 'sticky, wiggle and sexy' (Laugh).]
I don't know about his father's work, but when I heard 'Mannerism', I wondered if Saenreda
sought a different beauty in opposition to his father.

Saenreda lived in Haarlem, but travelled throughout the Netherlands to paint in various cities.
About fifty oil paintings of Saenreda remain, half of which depict the Cathedral of Saint Bavo in Haarlem and the church in Utrecht.
I have not read, but an art historian Kimiko Mochida (1947- 2018) wrote,

3) 白壁の下から / From under the Whitewash
1586年に教区教会は、プロテスタントに引き渡され、壁の装飾を白塗りしました。
白塗りされた壁の下から、昔の壁画が見つかり、オルゴール博物館に展示されています(下の画像)。
その壁画については、前回のセクションに書いています、下記。

4) ブールケクホルク通り/ Buurkerkhof Street

Cannonballs
Two cannonballs are still embedded in the tower.
During the Eighty Year's War (Dutch War of Independence /1568 -1648)
It is said they were fired in by the Spanish army.

When the building was still a church,
I think this was the entrance and people walked into the nave.
The current official entrance is on the north side of the building,
the entrance to the Music Speelklok (Photo at the beginning of this section).
