前回のブログから引き続き、ユトレヒトのオルゴール博物館のセクションです。

私と夫Rは、オルゴール博物館で見学ツアーを終え、気ままに博物館の他の部分を見ました。

I and my husband R finished the tour in the Music Speelklok and looked at the rest of the Museum at will.

ツアー後、このスパイラルの階段を登って2階へ行きました。

カリヨン

何回か、旅行を重ねているうちに、 "カリヨン"と聞くと、複数の鐘が動き鐘の音の重なった音がイメージされるようになりました。

こんな小さなことが嬉しい....。

"カリヨン"は日本語では、"組み鐘"と訳されるということを今回知りました。

もしかしたらそのことは以前も読んだのかもしれませんが、記憶に残りませんでした。

"カリヨン"を知ったのが海外だったので、聞いた言葉がそのまま残ったのでしょう。

複雑なカリヨン演奏は、パイプオルガン演奏と似ているな〜と思います。

そんな"カリヨン"は1つの楽器なのですね。

この博物館の "カリヨン"は、他のものと同様に自動演奏です。

Carillon

A few times while I have travelled in Europe I heard "Carillon", I imagined the bells moving from the sound of the bells.

I'm glad by such a small thing ...

This time I found out that "Carillon" is translated as "Kumi-gane" in Japanese.

Perhaps I have read that before, but it wasn't memorable.

I knew of "Carillon" abroad, so the word I learned from the sound with "Carillon", so automatically I remember.

Complex carillon performance is similar to pipe organ performance.

Such a "Carillon" is an instrument.

The "Carillon" in this Museum is Self - Playing like the others here.

1階で見た美しい時計の中には、小さな精巧な機械が
収められていたことと思います。
これは逆に巨大です。

I think that the beautiful clocks seen on the first floor contained
small, elaborate mechanisms.
This conversely is huge.

B. 壁画 / Mural

オルゴール博物館に壁画が展示されていました。

私にとって、この博物館で、最も印象的だったのは、この壁画でした。

オルゴール博物館なのに壁画！と驚き、一度白く塗りつぶされたのに、再びあわられた、この絵の不思議さに魅力を感じます。

A mural was on display in the Music Speelklok.

The most striking thing about this museum for me was this mural.

I was surprised that there is a mural in the Music Speelklok! and I was fascinated by the mystery of this painting, because it was once painted-over white and then reappeared.

壁画

博物館の建物は、元はブールケク教会 / Buurkerkでした。

ブールケク教会は教区教会(カトリック)でしたが、
1586年にプロテスタントに引き渡され、壁の装飾を白塗りしました。

この壁画はその白塗りの下に描かれていたものです。
博物館にするときの改修時に発見されたのではないかと推測します。
(説明されていたかもしれませんがよく覚えていません）

Mural

The Music building was originally the 'Buurkerk' church.

The Buurkerk' church was a parish church (Catholic),

but was handed over to Protestants in 1586 and they whitewashed the walls.

This mural remained under the whitewash.
I guess it was discovered during a renovation of the Museum.

1) エッサイ / Jesse は誰か？

エッサイ / Jesse は『旧約聖書』の登場人物で、ダビデ王 (B.C1040 – BC961/ 在位B.C1000 - BC961)の父。

聖母マリアの夫、聖ヨセフはエッサイの家系に入るようなので、壁画はイエス・キリストの家系図でもあるのです。

2) 新約聖書と旧約聖書

'Jesaisa11'をイザヤ書11章と、"Matthew 1"をマタイ書1章と訳しましたが、'イザヤ書11章'が旧約聖書で、マタイ書1章が新約聖書なので、間違っているかもしれません。

聖書のことがよくわかりません...。

3) スーデンバルチ家 : Soudenbalch : Zoudenbalch について

中世のユトリヒトで、スーデンバルチ家/Soudenbalch / Zoudenbalch は名家で、市の重要な地位を独占していました。

スーデンバルチ家の一員のエバート/ Evertがこの壁画のスポンサー(発注者)であったと私は理解しています。

4) 画家
この壁画を描いた画家の個人の名前は残されていず、'イエス・キリストの家系図'を描いた師匠(巨匠)と呼ばれるようです。

例えば、レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチ (1452 -1519) の名前がわからず、
「ああ、 'モナ・リザ (1503-06頃 ~ 1517-19頃) を描いた画家' ね」
的な感じで後世に伝わる感じかなと思います。

まあ、この'Tree of Jesse'はモナリザほど有名ではありませんが...。

どこかの時点で、制作者と発注者が一緒になって、"The Master of Evan van Soudenbalch" という表現になったのかと推測します。

Caption Supplement; Tree of Jesse

1) Who is Jesse?

Jesse is a character in the Old Testament and the father of King David (B.C 1040 - BC961 / reign: B.C1000- B.C. 961).

The Virgin Mary's husband, Saint Joseph seems to belong in Jesse's family line, so the Mural' depicts the pedigree diagram of Jesus Christ as well.

2) New Testament and Old Testament

'Jesaisa' : Book of Isaiah is in Old Testament and "Matthew": Gospel of Matthew is in New Testament...I do not understand the Bible well ...

3) About the Soudenbalch family : Soudenbalch : Zoudenbalch

In medieval Utrecht, the Soudenbalch / Zoudenbalch family was a famous family and occupied important positions in the city.

I understand that Evert, a member of the Soudenbalch family, was the sponsor of this Mural.

4) Painter

The individual name of the painter who painted this mural is not preserved, and he seems to be called the Master who painted the 'Tree of Jesse'.

For example, I think if people don't know the name of Leonardo da Vinci (1452 -1519) , people could recognize "Oh, the 'painter who painted Mona Lisa'(c.1503-06 ~ c.1517-19)",

and it could pass on to future generations.

Well, this 'Tree of Jesse' is not as famous as Mona Lisa ...

I guess at some point that the creator and the orderer have come together in the Caption ; "The Master of Evan van Soudenbalch".

I get the impression that it is a box that stores important things.

ネイル・ケアーセットのオルゴール！
爪のお手入れをしながら、
オルゴールの音ともにバレリーナが踊るのを見るでしょう。
その場面が浮かびます。
子供の頃、このシンプルなタイプのオルゴールを持っていたように思います。

Music Box for Nail Care Set!

Somebody saw the ballerina dance with the sound of the music box

while cleaning the nails.

The scene comes to mind.

I think I had this simple type of music box when I was a child.

このバレリーナは戦いの戦士、アマゾネスのようですが(笑)

日本製のオルゴール発見！

日本電産サンキョー株式会社（Nidec) の山田兄弟が

1946年に東京で作りました。

山田兄弟は、この会社の創業者、山田雅彦 (ヤマダマサヒコ/ 1914 -1991) 氏、

山田六一 (ヤマダロクイチ/ 1917 -2003) 氏です。

そして私の窯は、この会社のものでした。

こういうリンクに出合うと嬉しくなってしまいます。

Nidecは今もオルゴールを製造しています: ★ / ★。

鎖国時代 (1639 -1854) の日本にオルゴールをもたらしたのは、

オランダだったのですね〜。

Discover a Music Box Made in Japan!

Yamada brothers of Nidec Sankyo Corporation (Nidec) made it in Tokyo in 1946.

The Yamada brothers are the founders of this company, Masahiko Yamada (1914 -1991) and Yamada Rokuichi (1917 -2003).

And my kiln was also made by this company.

I'm glad to find such links.

Nidec still makes music boxes : ★ / ★ (in English).

It was the Netherlands that brought music boxes to Japan

during the Sakoku ("closed country"/ 1639 -1854) era.

えっ？小さい!?
6つのメロディーを演奏できます。

This can play six different melodies.
