DMが届いた時から、その美しい作品に魅せられ、
ぜひ行きたいと思いました。

Since DM arrived, I was fascinated by the beautiful works,

I thought that I would definitely go.

My friend, Hakko held : "deux paysages - contemporary jewelry" Exhibition, so I and R visited.

"het Labo atrium" was officially opened in April 2017, below.

Place : "het Labo atrium" in Shinjyuku, Tokyo

"deux paysages - contemporary Jewellery"は、

"二つの風景 - 現代宝石"

という意味だと思います。

2人展ですものね。

I think "deux paysages" means "two landscapes" in English.

It was a two person exhibition, wasn't it?

ディスプレイが美しい！/ Display is Beautiful!

宝石であることを強調する展示に感じます。
I feel the display emphasizes that they are jewels.

作品も展示も美しい / Works and also Display are beautiful.

SCHMUCKは、コンテンポラリー・ジュエリーの公募展です。

はっこちゃんの作品が、この展覧会に展示され、

カタログにも載っています。
素晴らしい！

はっこちゃんの作品

身につけているうちに赤い色が '落ちてゆく'という

アイディアです。

時間や環境によっての変化をあえて取り入れたり、利用したりする

アイディアは、現代アートのひとつの考え方です。

実はこの考え方は他のアートにも共通するのですが、

現代アートの世界がもっとも受け入れる環境があると

私は思います。

私としては、時間や環境によって変化する美を美として受け入れ

られるのがアートで、防ごうと努力するのが

クラフトかなと思います。

もちろん、なんにでも例外はありますが。

Hakko's Work

The red colour 'fades' while wearing.

I think works which utilize the idea of changes with time and 

environment isone of contemporary art ideas.

Actually, this thought is common to other art, though most accepted 
in the contemporary art world environment I think.

For me, it is art that can accept the beauty that changes according to time and environment as beauty, 

whereas Craft tries to prevent the changes.
Of course, there are exceptions to everything.

はっこちゃんの作品は、どれもこれも、美しく、
アイディアがあります。

Haako's works are beautiful and each one has ideas.

水やリフレクションに興味があったり、偶然と意図した行為(計画)を
融合させ作品制作をしたりするところに、私との共通点があります。

(はっこちゃんはどのように私の作品を思っているかわかりませんが)

彼女の "計らい"という言葉が素敵で好きです。

There is something in common with myself in that Hakko is interested in water and reflection, or accident and intended action (plan) are fused to make works.

(I do not know how Hakko thinks about my work.)

そういえば、私は、はっこちゃんの作品を初めて見るのでした。
By the way, this was the first time I had seen Hakko's work.

この作品が2番目に好きです。
This is my second favourite.

この作品シリーズが一番好きです。
I like this work series the most.

それぞれに美しく面白い形態です。

儚 (ハカナ) さと強さがバランスよく含まれていて、危うさがなく、健全さを感じます。

私にとっては、宝石というよりもオブジェです。

Each is a beautiful and interesting form.

It contains fragility and strength in well-balanced fashion, and it feels healthy without harm.

For me it's an object rather than Jewellery.

3) イトヨリの遺産 

     Legacy of Nemipterus virgatus

ウーン、おバカな私には、作家、山本あきさんの文章と方程式が良く理解できません。

とりあえず、私が理解したのは、

『山本さんは、廃棄物を素材にし、”equal"というテーマを追ってきました。

廃棄物と考えられる鱗を山本さんの感性を通すと、美しい作品になります』

ということです。

Well...I am stupid who can not understand the sentences and equations

by an artist, Aki Yamamoto (?-?).

For the time being, I understood,

『Yamamoto has pursued the theme of "equal" with waste as a material.

To what other people might think of as waste, in this case scales (Itoyori's scales), she applies her sensitivity and they can become beautiful works』.

山本あき (? -?) さんの作品を初めて見ました。

説明文の中に、"イトヨリ"とあり、どのイトヨリなのか、詳しくはわかりませんが、イトヨリダイ科のキツネウオかな？と推測しますが、どうなのでしょう？

This was the first time I saw Yamamoto Aki (? -?)'s works.

In the explanatory note, there is "Itoyori": "Nemipterus virgatus" and I do not know in detail about Nemipterus virgatus, but I guess it is Double Whiptail, below which is part of the Nemipteridae family, but Im' not sure.

"deux paysages" (二つの風景)

　展覧会のタイトルはこの作品から来ていたのですね。

もちろん、2人展ということも含まれているのでしょうけれど。

The title of the exhibition came from the name of this work.
Tough of course, it seems to include the two-person exhibition.

魚(イトヨリ?)の鱗と皮を用いて、こんなに美しく不思議な作品ができています。

By using scales and skin of a fish (Nemipterus virgatus?), 
such a beautiful and magical work is made.

はっこちゃんが山本さんの作品に一目惚れして、
この展覧会の運びになったそうです。

I heard that Hakko fell in love with Yamamoto 's works at first sight,
and this exhibition came about.

中の透明なものが鱗なんです！
The transparent ones inside are scales!

魚の鱗が宝石に負けない美しさ
Fish scales keep their beauty, even next to jewels.

紳士と淑女？ / A Gentleman and a Lady?

4) het klein kabinet  

    ヘット・クレイン・キャビネット

"het klein kabinet"   : ヘットクレインキャビネット (小さな飾り棚)は、メインギャラリーの奥にある小部屋です。

そこは、コンテンポラリー・ジュエリー常設ギャラリーとして使用されています。

"het klein kabinet" is a small room in the back of the main gallery.

It is used as a permanent gallery of contemporary jewelry.
