お誕生日旅行先として、私もRも行ったことがない、沖縄の島: 石垣島・西表島 (イリオモテジマ)、他の小島を選びました。
遠方の地を選んだのは、元気なうちに、体も環境も行ける条件の時に行っておこうと思いました。
クラブツーリズムのツアー：
"幻の花・聖紫花と日本一早いホタル・ヤエヤマホタル
多様な生命が宿る島・西表島 4日間"
に参加しました。
タイトル内にある "聖紫花" や "ヤエヤマボタル" は、自然のものなので、確約されているものではないものの、一応、期待しつつ参加しました。
そして '4日間' とはあるものの、実質3日間でした。
"Ishigaki Island" : "Ishigaki-jima" is a Japanese island west of
"Okinawa Island" : "Okinawa Hontō" .
It is the second-largest of the "Yaeyama Islands",
and the third-largest island of the Okinawa Islands : Okinawa Hontō .
"Iriomote Island" : "Iriomote-jima" is the largest of the "Yaeyama Islands"
and the second largest in Okinawa Prefecture after Okinawa Island. |
As a travel destination for my birthday, I and R chose the Okinawa Islands of Ishigaki and Iriomote and other small islands, which we had never visited.
The reason I chose places far away was that I thought I'd go when the conditions of my body and my environment allowed ; while I was doing well.
We participated in the Tour by Club Tourism :
『'Phantom Flower' : 'Seisika' and the First Firefly, 'Yaeyama Firefly' in Japan,
Diverse lives exist in Iriomote Island for 4 days 』
Although there are 'Seisika' and 'Yaeyama Firefly' in the title, they are natural things, so they cannot be guaranteed, anyway we joined the tour with expectations for the time being.
In the end, we could not see 'Seisika' at all and could only see three or four short flights of 'Yaeyama Firefly'.
And although it says '4 days', it was actually 3 days.
Still, we were able to enjoy various things such as unfamiliar scenery with our first Okinawa experience (we did not go to Okinawa Island : Okinawa Hontō).

| ホテルの部屋 石垣空港到着後、ホテルで2時間近く休憩しました。 昼間に2時間近く休憩がはいるツアーに驚きつつも、 ゆったり感を味わいました。 Room in Hotel After arriving at Ishigaki Airport, we had a break for nearly 2 hours in the hotel. I was surprised about this tour, which had a break lasting nearly 2 hours during the day and I felt relaxed. |

乾杯! / Cheers!
ここでスパークリイング・ワインで乾杯しようとしたのですが、一人いた、スタッフがスパークリイング・ワインのボトルを探し出せませんでした。
担当者に聞くといって連絡をしたのですが、結局見つけ出せず、そのスタッフが
「初めての注文なのです」
と言ったことに、驚きつつ、笑ってしまいました。
このホテルは昨年、オープンしたので、1年間以上スパークリイング・ワインのボトル注文がなかったのでした!
きっとビール文化なのだな〜と納得し、私たちもビールを注文しました。
写真右が有名な 'オリオンビール'、左が '石垣島地ビール' です。

We tried to celebrate with sparkling wine here, but the staff, one person, could not find any sparkling wine.
She said she asked a person in charge, although she still could not find it at all.
The staff said
"It's our first order"
we were surprised, we laughed at what she said.
This hotel opened last year, so no one had ordered sparkling wine for over a year!
I became sure that here is a beer culture, indeed, and we ordered beer.
In the photo above ; on right is the famous 'Orion Beer' and on the left is a local beer : the 'Ishigakijima Beer'.

| その場にいた男性が餌を撒き始めました。 私たちに鯉を見せてくれようとしたようです。 A man who was there was beginning to feed them. He seemed to feed them in order to show us carp. |

すごいことに... / It became terrible.... 怖い! 私が怖がっていたら、男性は笑っていました。 きっと観光客は私と同じような反応で、彼はそれを楽しんでいるのかもしれません。 Scared! I was scared and the man was laughing. Perhaps other tourists responded similarly to me, he may be enjoying it. |

休憩後、"石垣島島鍾乳洞"へ観光ミニバスで出かけました。
After rest time, we went out to "Ishigaki Island Stalactite Cave" in our mini-bus.
