a) 聖ニコラス / St. Nicholas
聖ニコラス / St. Nicholas (270頃~352) 、ミラのニコラオスあるいはミラの聖ニコラオ呼ばれ、はすべてのキリスト教派で、聖人として崇敬され、彼の奇跡も知られています。
サンタ・クロースのモデル (聖ニック) となった人物と言われています。
聖ニコラスは、ヨーロッパ各地の様々な都市や国の船員、商人、射手、悔い改める泥棒、子供、醸造家、牧畜業者、学生の守護聖人です。
こんなに多くの守護聖人であることから、彼のおこした奇跡や人気が伺えます。

St.
Nicholas (c270 - 352), called Nikolaos of Mira or St.
Nicolaos of Mila, are all Christian denominations, revered as saints,
and his miracles are also known.
It is said that he became the model for Santa Claus (Saint Nick).
Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves, children, brewers, pawnbrokers and students in various cities and countries around Europe.
It can tell us about the miracle and his popularity because he became the patron saint of so many groupes.

聖ニコラス教会 / St. Nicholas' Church / St. Niklaaskerk は、ゲントで最も古い歴史的建造物の一つです。
以前のブログでも書いていますが、'3つの塔' の一つも、この教会です。

この場所の最初の聖ニコラス教会は、12世紀初め、ロマネスク様式の小さな教会でした。
13世紀の初め、地元のスヘルデ・ゴシック様式（スヘルデ川/
Scheldt）で建て始められ、その後、この教会は、時代(雨風)や政治や、人々の影響を受け、様々に増築、改築、部分的な取り壊しなどを経て、現在に至ります。
様式も、ロマネスク、スヘルデ・ゴシック、ゴシック、バロックと変遷しました。

その変遷の様子は、人間から教会がいたぶられている印象で、気の毒に思います。
古い教会なのに、新築のような'小綺麗さ'があり、古い教会にありがちな重さがなく、私はあまり古さを感じませんでした。

それは、今は大切にされて、復元修復が徐々に行われ、その成果が現れている証拠なのかもしれません。

正面部分が老朽化し、その補強として住宅が建てられました。
その後、住宅は取り払われます。

The
first church that stood on the site of the present church was a small church in Romanesque style built in the
12th century.
Early
in the 13th century, it began to be built in the local Scheldt Gothic
style (Scheldt), after which the church had been influenced by times (weather),
politics, and people, so it had various additions, remodeling,
partial demolition etc. and it reaches the present.
Architectural style also had been changed in the Romanesque, Schelde Gothic, Gothic and Baroque styles.

The changes give me the impression that the church had been damaged by humans.
Even
though it is an old church, there is 'cleanliness', like a new
construction, I did not feel its old age.
It
may be evidence that the results are being revealed, it is cherished
now, the restoration is done gradually.
I sincerely hope that this church will be loved and that brutality will not be done by humans.

Second - hand Book Market
After we left Saint Saint Bavo Cathedral / Sint Baafskathedraal, we went to a cafe.
聖バーフ大聖堂 / Saint

Baafskathedraalを出たあと、カフェへ行きました。
アントワープのアパートメントのオーナー、セバスチアンが勧めてくれたカフェ。
カフェについては、のちのセクションに載せます。
一杯のカプチーノで一休みできたことで、気力体力が少し回復しました。

この日、聖ニコラス教会の中では、古本市が開かれていました。
祭壇へは教会脇の入り口から入ることができました。

After we left Saint Saint Bavo Cathedral / Sint Baafskathedraal, we went to a cafe.
The cafe was recommended by Sebastian the owner of the apartment in Antwerp.
I will post about the cafe in the later section.
By recovering with a cup of cappuccino, physical strength and energy recovered a little.
Thanks to the cafe, I visited St. Nicholas' Church and I had the energy to enter.
A second - hand book market was held in the St. Nicholas Church this day.

The market was on the entrance side of the nave, the first half, and the approach to the altar of the church was stopped from inside.
We visited the altar using the side entrance.

有名なフランスのオルガン製作者、アリスティド・カヴァイエ＝コル / Aristide Cavaillé-Collが設計しました。
オルガン制作は1853年に始まり、1856年に完成しました。
が、その後痛みが激しく、現在も修復作業は完成していず、このオルガンでの演奏はされていないようです。

It
was built by the famous French organ builder Aristide
Cavaillé-Coll (1811 -1899).
Construction
of the organ began in 1853, it was completed in 1856.
However,
since then the damage had been severe, the repair work is not
completed at this time, it may be that this organ has not been used in performances.
2) 聖ミヒャエル教会 / St Michael's Church, Ghent
現在の後期ゴシック様式の聖ミヒャエル教会/ Saint Michael's Church (カソリック教会)の建設は、1440年に始まりました。
15世紀と16世紀の間に塔を含む建物が一度は建設されましたが、その後破壊されました。
教会の再建は1623年に始まり、132mの塔の案も出されましたが、予算不足のために今日においても建設されていません。

方がずっと有名な感じがします。

is the front, but I feel that
the views from the St Michael bridge (below) are much more famous.

Between the 15th and 16th Centuries, buildings including towers were built and then destroyed.
The rebuilding of the church began in 1623 and a plan for the 132 m tower was also issued, but due to the budget shortage it has not been built.

聖ミカエル教会は、ベルギーのゲントにあるローマカトリック教会で、

3) 聖ヤコブ教会 / Sint-Jacobskerk
ゲント散策中に、偶然見かけました。
気になった教会だったので、近くまで行き、撮影はしましたが中へは入っていません。
のちに、聖ヤコブ教会
/ St.James Church / Sint-Jacobskerkは、毎年夏に開催される'ゲント祭り'の拠点となる教会と知りました。
聖ヤコブ教会
この場所では、最初の木造教会がセント・ジェームズに捧げられ、
1093年に建てられました。
2つの塔は、ロマネスク時代 (10世紀末〜12世紀)からのものです。
その後、破壊、建設、火災、改装、修復...を経て、現在に至ります。

In this place a first wooden church was built in 1093, dedicated to St. James.
The two towers are from the Romanesque period :
the end of the 10th century to the 12th century.
After that, it reaches the present church, through destruction, construction, fire, refurbishment, restoration .... |
Because it was the church I was interested in, I went to a nearby area and photographed but we did not go inside.
Later, I found out that the St. Jakob Church is the base of the 'Ghent Festivals' every summer.
