角地の建物が、カーブを描き、装飾があるドームが
付いているものが多いように思いました。

A. 石の城 / Stone Castle

以前は "アントワープ・バート(要塞)" として知られていた "ヘット・スティーン" / "Het Steen" は、カール5世 (1500 - 1558 / ローマ皇帝在位 : 1519 - 1559 / スペイン国王在位 : 1516 -1556 / ブルゴーニュ公国王在位:) の下で、大規模な再建を行った後に、1520年頃、現在の名称を得ました。
その再建により、最初は "ヘレン・ステーン" / " 's Heeren Steen" (王の石造り)として知られ、のちに単に "Het Steen"(石造りの城)と呼ばれました。
オランダ語の "steen" は「石」を意味します。
お城は、1303年と1827年の間、刑務所として使われました。

Previously
known as "Antwerpen Burcht (fortress)" , "Het Steen"
gained its current name in around 1520, after significant rebuilding
under Charles
V (1500 - 1558 / Spanish Empire : r1516 -1556 / Holy
Roman Empire : r1519
- 1559 / Duchy
of Burgundy : r1506 - 1519) .
The
rebuilding led to its being known first as "'s Heeren Steen"
(the King's stone castle), and later simply as "Het Steen"
(the stone castle).
"Steen"
in Dutch means "stone".
The castle was used as a prison between 1303 and 1827.
B. スヘルデ川沿い / Along Scheldt River
ステーン城
アントワープでもっとも古い建物です。
このお城は、本物のお城っぽくない印象です。
通常は、もっと要塞の要素が強く感じられますが、
このお城はすぐに落城していまいそうです....。レゴで作った感じ？
ですが、れっきとした本物のお城であり、要塞でした。

It
is the oldest building in Antwerp.
This
castle does nor give me the impression of being a real castle.
Other genuine castles seem to be more fortress-like,
but
this castle seems as if it would fall easily .....
I feel, it seems to be made of LEGO?
However,
it is a real castle and was a fortress.

なるほど、今のお城は多くの要塞としての建物を失っているので、華奢な印象がするのですね。
Along Scheldt River
The
largest part of the fortress, including a
large number historic houses and the oldest church in the
city, were knocked down in the 19th century when the quays
were straightened to stop the silting up of the Scheldt River.
Indeed,
as the castle has now lost many fortresses-like buildings, it gives a
delicate impression.

お城はスヘルデ川に面していて、すぐそばに船着場があります。
現在も使用されているのかはわかりません。
The castle is facing the Scheldt River, and there is a docking place close by.
I do not know if they still use there.

| びっくりなことに、日曜日なのに、お城は閉まっていました。また水曜日に開くそうですが....。びっくりするのは、私が日本人だからでしょうか？ To my surprise, even though it was Sunday, the castle was closed.
I heard that it would open again on Wednesday .....
Is it because I am a Japanese person to be surprised?

C. 巨人のランゲ・ワッパー/ Giant Lange Wapper
"ランゲ・ワッパー" / "Lange Wapper" の像が、お城の前にあります。
巨人でトリックスターというのが珍しいな〜と思います。
像の場面 (下の写真) を見るとひょうきんな感じがしますが、'ランゲ・ワッパーを
恐れる住民たち' なのだそうです。

The statue of "Lange Wapper" is in front of the castle.
Lange Wapper is a giant and trickster in Flemish folklore.
I think that it is a giant and trickster is unusual ~.
When I look at the scene of the statue (photo above), I feel something jocular, but they say 'residents fear Lange Wapper'.

広場には、アントワープの超有名人、"ブラボーくん"がいます。

In
the square, there is Antwerp 's super celebrity, Mr. "Brabo"
アントワープで一番人気の像は彼でしょう。
He is the most popular statue in Antwerp.

聖母大聖堂の近くには、聖母の彫像が複数あります。
There are a few statues on corners of buildings.
Near by Cathedral of Our Lady, there are some statues of Holy Mother.

スヘルデ川の向こう岸に立つ像、近くに海洋博物館があるので、
ひょっとしたらバイキングを表しているのかも？

街灯 / Streetlight 植物園に面した通り / The street alongside the Botanic Garden 
街灯には、伝説の巨人の手を施した、アントワープの紋章があります。
On the streetlight, there is the Antwerp's Coat of Arms which
includes the hands of legendary giants.
