1) 街並み  / Streets 

最後の観光スポットである、'山陰の小京都'と呼ばれる津和野にやってきました。

江戸時代 (1603 - 1868) は、津和野藩亀井氏の城下町でした。

萩の城下町では、十分に建物を見ることができませんでしたが、津和野では、外側からだけですが、建物を見ることが結構できました。

萩の城下町については下記。

萩、津和野とよくワンセットで扱われます。

けれども、萩は山口県で津和野は島根県になります。

ここでの時間は、町の中心地をぐるっと見てまわるくらいで、どこか興味のある場所に入ってみるような時間はありません。

例えば、津和野には、'森鴎外記念館'、'安野光雅美術館' がありますが、最初からあきらめていました。

それに、時期のせいか、時間のせいか(午後4時〜5時)、多くの場所が閉まっているような印象でした。

Streets 

Here was the last sightseeing spot, 'Tsuwano' : ★ known as 'the Little Kyoto of San-In'.

In Edo period  (1603 - 1868), here was a Castle Town of Tsuwano Domain.

I did not see enough of the buildings in Hagi Castle Town, although I saw a few buildings in Tsuwano Castle Town even though just from outside.

⓮ 2月11日、結婚記念旅行 - 5) 世界遺産巡り- 萩城下町 / Wedding Anniver...

Hagi and Tsuwano are often thought of together, although Hagi is in Yamaguchi Prefecture and Tsuwano is in Shimane Prefecture.

We only had time  to walk around the town centre and we could not go in somewhere which we were interested.

Tsuwano has 'MoriOgai former residence and Mori Ogai museum' and 'Anno Mitsumasa Museum', of course we could not visit.

And also my impression was many places were closed because of the season or the time : between 4:00pm ~ 5:00pm.

殿町通り / Tonomachi Street

江戸時代の家々が並ぶ殿町通り
この通りも現地のガイドさんのあとについて歩きますが、
私達はこのグループの中に入れません。
遅いので... 。

Tonomachi Street is lined with Edo Period Buildings. 
The tour people followed a local guide here, 
although we could not join the group, because we were tardy.

観光シーズンでないせいか、空いています。
It was not sightseeing season, so there was not busy.

藩校、養老館

森鴎外 (1861 - 1922) も、ここ養老館に通いました。

 Tsuwano Domain School ; Han-kou Yourokan

Mori Ōgai (1861 - 1922) went to the School.

町のシンボルが....
2013年7月の豪雨で津和野川 が氾濫し、大きな水害がありました。
河川整備が引き続き行われていて、その影響で
有名な鯉の水路は濁っています。
未だにその影響をこのようにみると、当時の被害の大きさが感じられます。

Although Symbol of the Town....

They had been heavy rain and the River Tsuwano had overflowed and 

they had big damage from a flood in July 2013.

There is still river development work and the work affects

the popular Waterway of Carp : ★

ほかの通り / Other Streets

白壁が良いいですね〜。
萩で白壁の通りの '菊屋横丁' を見ることができなかったので、
白壁を見ると嬉しい。
この写真には'日の丸'があります！そうでした！この日は祝日でした。

建国記念の日、2月11日

建国記念の日を決めたのは明治政府だった....いえいえ、
当時は紀元節 (キゲンセツ)という名前で、
建国記念の日という名に変えたのは、佐藤内閣で1966年でした。
看板変えても、本質的な中身は同じ、それでも
国民が幸せならそれで良いでしょう、と考える私は浅はかでしょうか？

ちなみに、佐藤栄作 (1901 - 1975)氏は山口県出身でした。

 While Walls are good!
I missed White Walls on 'Kikuya-yokocho Street' in Hagi, 
so I was pleased when I saw it here.
This photograph has 'Hinomaru' Flag! Oh! Yes! The day was National Holiday.
This was Kenkoku Kinenbi : National Foundation Day, 11th of February.
Government of Meiji  decided this day no! no! 
That was Kigensetu ; Empire Day at that time.
 Satō Cabinet (Eisaku Satō's / 1901 - 1975) decided 

11th of February is 'National Foundation Day' in 1966.

Even though the name was changed the resulting essential content is the same,

however, if a nation, Japanese are fine, it should be alright... I think.
Am I imprudent who think like this? 

By the way Eisaku Satō came from Yamaguchi Prefecture.

郵便局も観光地を意識して立っています。
Post-office considers their location which is a sightseeing spot.

違う道の水路もこんな色。
The colour in the waterway is like this along other street, too.

ヤマト宅配便の集配所も古い建物にあります。
飛脚 (ヒキャク)の取次所 (飛脚屋・飛脚問屋) を思い起こさせます。
飛脚のマークは佐川急便ですが、最近の佐川のトラックには
昔の飛脚の姿は見られませんよね？

Even Yamato delivery company for collection and delivery is in an old building.
It reminds me of Hikyaku which is express messenger agent 
in Japanese traditional method.

マンホール 
最近のマンホールはどこにいっても面白いです。

Nowadays I often find interesting Manhole Covers.

ようやく観光地に歓迎されているような気持ちになりました。
Finally I could feel the sightseeing Town welcome us.

2) 鷺舞 / Sagi-Mai : Egret Dance

鷺舞 (サギマイ) は、主に八坂信仰 (ヤサカシンコウ / 祇園信仰 / ギオンシンコウ) の神社に奉納される伝統舞踊で、津和野町のものは "津和野弥栄神社の鷺舞 " として国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されています。

伝統的には毎年7月20日(行き)と7月27日(帰り)に決められています。

各場所における舞は10分ほどで、それを一日10-11箇所で行います。

鷺舞は津和野の風物詩ともいわれ、1983年からは観光振興の一環として、24日にも、弥栄神社境内とJR津和野駅前で行われるようになりました。

Sagi-Mai : Egret Dance is mainly traditional dancing dedicated in a Yasaka Shrine.

Tsuwano's Sagi-Mai is dedicated  to Yasaka Shrine of Tsuwano and  is designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties. 

Traditionally it is danced on 20th and 27th of July.

The dance is shown to people at each of 10 to 11 places for about 10 minutes.

They say Sagi-Mai is Tsuwano's seasonal view, so they have also started to dance on the 24th, for sightseeing in front of Yasaka Shrine and JR Tsuwano Station.

For a moment, I thought they were characters of

"Ge Ge Ge no Kitarō ":  "Kitarō of the Graveyard",  

a manga series created in 1960 by Shigeru Mizuki.

日本遺産

2015年、日本遺産 (ニホンイサン) の最初の18件の一つとして

'津和野今昔 ～百景図を歩く～' が選ばれました。

栗本格齊 (クリモトカクサイ / 本名・里治 : サトハル）/ 1845 -1925 ] 画

が選ばれました。

'津和野今昔' は、幕末の津和野の風景が描かれています。

私は、'日本遺産'の存在を初めて知りました。

Japan Heritage

"Tuswano Konjyaku ~ Hyakkeizu wo Aruku" :

"Tsuwano  Now and Past ~ 100 Views"

by Kuirmoto Kakusai (1845 -1925),

was designated a Japanese Heritage in 2015.

"Tsuwano  Now and Past" shows the sceneries of Tsuwano

 in the end of Edo Period (1603 -1868).

Now I knew Japan Heritage.

3) 教会 / Church

津和野カトリック教会、1931

山陰の小京都'と呼ばれる津和野なのに、

この教会が街中にあり、不思議な気がしました。

時間がなかったので、中には入りませんでした。

津和野を離れるバスの中で、バスガイドさんが、

この教会は畳が敷いてある教会であると説明してくれました。

そして、悲しく悲惨な話も...。

明治政府が、キリスト教徒を江戸幕府より一層迫害した、

1867〜1873年、'浦上四番崩れ (ウラカミヨンバンクズレ) '

のいくつかのエピソードでした。

Tsuwano Catholic Church, 1931

Popularly called the "Little Kyoto of San-In,

"Even though Tsuwano is called 'Small Kyoto',

this church is in the centre which left me wondering.

I did not have time so I did not go in.

While we were leaving in our bus, the bus guide told us

the inside is tatami mats, and sad and pitiful stories.

That was about 'Urakami Yoban Kuzure' (1867 - 1873)

4) デゴイチに会いに行く 
     Meeting "Degoichi" : Class D51

現役の蒸気機関車、SLやまぐち号を2月には見ることができませんが、JR津和野駅前に設置してある、デゴイチ (D51形蒸気機関車): D51194 に会いに行きました。

限られた時間の中で、私はデゴイチを選びました。

We cannot see a team locomotive , C57, SL Yaaguchi in February and we went to JR Tsuwano for the steam locomotive D51194 which is in front of the station.

The Class D51 is a steam locomotive built by the Japanese Government Railways (JGR), the Japanese National Railways (JNR), and various manufacturers from 1936 to 1945.The Class D51 is popularly called "Degoichi" in Japanese.

I chose "Degoichi" in our limited time.

実は私は電車の旅の方がバスよりは好きです。
ですが、肉体上、バス旅行の方が楽なのですよね。
荷物を持ち歩く必要がないので。

Actually I do like train trips more than coach trips.
However, coach trips easier that train trips,
because we do not have to carry our baggage.

 英国で現役の蒸気機関車に乗ることができるので、
ちょっと物足りない気がしてまうのは、仕方ないでしょう。

I can get on an active steam locomotive train in Britain 
so I cannot help it that I felt something is missing.

Do you know a picture book,

"Kikansha Yaemon": "Yaemon of The Steam Locomotive Train"?

Now I know this book is still sold, I am pleased.

The story is that the old Steam Locomotive Train, Yaemon 

retired and was destined for the scrap heap,

however, at last a museum made him welcome.

5) 石見空港 / Iwami Airport

 来るときは、羽田空港から飛び、広島空港に到着しました。

羽田空港への帰りは、石見空港 (イワミクウコウ / 通称は萩・石見空港) からの離陸になります。

石見空港は島根県です。

We came to the South from Haneda Airport to Hiroshima Airport when we came back to Haneda Airport we left from Iwami Airport.

Iwami Airport is in Shimane Prefecture.

いろいろなことがギュッとつまった旅でした。
おもしろく、楽しく、またときとして、いろいろ考えさせられました。
いつまでもRと元気で旅ができますよ〜に！

This trip squeezed in many things.
I enjoyed, had fun and sometimes it made me think about various things.
