| シュルーズベリ修道院 / Shrewsbury Abbey シュルーズベリ 修道院へ行きました。

今でもシュルーズベリ修道院と呼ばれていますが、
現在、小教区の教会(パリッシュ教会)です。
元は、ロジャー·デ·モントゴメリー伯爵 / Rogerde
Montgomery (? - 1094) が
解散させられ財産没収
(the
dissolution of the monasteries)
もされましたが、
建物の一部は地区教会として今日まで続いています。
修道士カドフェルの時代は12世紀前半なので、
シュルーズベリ修道院が修道院として機能していました。

It is still called 'Shrewsbury Abbey', although it is just a parish church nowadays. Originally Rogerde Montgomery (? - 1094) founded 'Shrewsbury Abbey
as a Benedictine

It
was to deify St.Peter (? - c. AD 64 or 67) and St.Paul (?
- c. AD 65 or 67).
Henry VIII (1491 - 1547) ordered the dissolution of the monasteries in 1540 and he confiscated their property, however, part of the abbey building has been used as
the
parish church until today.
The period of Brother Cadfael is the 12th Century, |

My otaku personality is not so strong, so I did not follow the guidebook. However, I used information from the book and I visited some places. | 7日の朝、セヴァーン川を散歩したときに見つけた 陶芸作品と同じ作者と思われる作品がここにありました。 このあとも、街のいくつかの場所で似たような作品を見かけました。 When I walked along the River Severn on the morning of the 7th, I saw a ceramic work and here is a work which looks the same makers'. Later I saw a few similar works around the town, too. |
