1) 行列 / Queue

センターコート選手入り口

ウィンブルドン テニス 又は全英オープンは
世界で一番古いテニストーナメントです。

今年の場合は、

"2015 年ウィンブルドン選手権 / The 2015 Wimbledon Championships"

と言うのが正式名称です。

'オール・イングランド・ローンテニス・アンド・クローケー・クラブ 
(又はオールイングランドクラブ) によって開催されます。

Centre Court Entrance for Players

The Championships, Wimbledon, is known as "Wimbledon" which

 is the oldest tennis tournament all over the world.

In this year, it is formally called "The 2015 Wimbledon Championships".

The Championships is managed by

 All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club / All-England Club'.

チケットを取得するための行列 / Queue (キュー）は名物で、テントで泊まりつつ行列に加わる人もいます。

ランキング上位の選手の試合が行われるセンターコートや、No.1コートなどのチケットを購入済みの人は、この行列に並ぶ必要がありません。

ですが、このチケットはかなり高額で数も少ないので、一般庶民は行列に並びます。

行列で取得できるのは、'グランドチケット/ Ground Ticket' で入場券のようなもの、日本でTV中継されるセンターコートやNo.1コートの試合は見られません。

ですが、このチケットでNo.3 ~ 19までのコートでの試合を見ることができます。
(西洋でアンラッキーナンバー13のNo.13コートは存在しません。縁起担ぎしていることを今年、知りました。）

No.2や、No.3コートの一部は、有料です。

センターコート、No.1コートのチャリティーチケット(格安チケット)は、グランドチケットを購入後、午後4時すぎに会場内のチケット売り場で発売されます。

行列の栞 / Queue Guide 

会場のマップ / Map of the Grounds

Queue

The Queue for getting a Ground Ticket is popular and even some people stay overnight in the queue with tents.

If you already have a ticket for Centre Court or No1. Court, you would not have to join the queue.

However, the tickets are expensive and very few so that ordinary people join the queue.

The queue is for ground tickets, only as a general entry ticket, not a particular seat.

You could see courts of No.3~19 with the ground ticket.
(Considered an unlucky number,13, there is no No.13 court.)

No.2 and some parts of No.3 also have an extra charge.

They start selling charity (cheap) tickets for Centre Court and No.1 Court after 16:00 at a ticket counter in the ground.

今年、私達は午前6時頃に行列会場であるウィンブルドン パークに行きました。
私の整理券(Queue Card)番号は03234(下の写真)でした。
今までで、一番早く会場に到着したので、一番若い番号です。
入場制限は8000番なので、安心！

This year, we got to Wimbledon Park about 6:00am and joined the queue.
My Queue Card number was 03234: below.
It was the lowest number so far because we got there the earliest so far.
The ground's general capacity limit is 8000, so I could be relieved.

6番めの行列を示す表示です。
今年、私達はこの列からスタートしました。

The sign shows us the 6th Queue line.
We started in the line this year.

K1の列
行列の最初の人はもちろん、泊まり込みです。

The first person, of course, stayed last night or more.

行列の途中にはこんなディスプレイも。
The queue passed this on our way.

2) 入場 / Enter 

No.3コートの無料席を確保するための行列にも並びました。

今年は第一試合から見ることができました。

We joined another queue for free Court No.3 seats.

This year we could watch from the beginning of play.

私はサービスのフォームが一番好きです。
I most like the service shot.

錦織 圭 選手
この日に行ったのは、錦織 圭 (1989 - ) 選手が出るというのも理由の一つでした。
私達が入場したときは彼の試合は始まっていなかったので、
No.3コートに来ていました。
No.3での試合を見ている間に彼が負けてしまった報告がされ、
彼の試合が見られずがっかり！
試合結果の詳細がされず、'Walkover'/ 不戦勝の表示でした。
のちに、錦織選手が負傷箇所が悪化して棄権を申し入れたことを知りました。


 Kei Nishikiori 
One of the reasons we chose to visit there on that day 
was that Kei Nishikiori (1989 -) would play.
When we entered the grounds his match had not yet started, so we went to No.3.
While we watched a match on No.3, the board showed us Nishikiori was beaten
and then we could not watch his match and were depressed.
The board did not tell the detail of the match and showed "Walkover".
Later we knew Nishikiori's earlier injury became worse and he offered to default.

3) 名物 / Popular Things

会場のバー / Bar in the Grounds 

ピムズ
一試合見終わって休憩。ピムズ/ Pimm'sを飲みました。
家でピムズを飲むときはたくさんフルーツを入れるのですが、
ここではこのとおりシンプル。
割高感を抱きつつも、名物だからということで注文しました。
ほかの名物、クリーム付きイチゴと、シャンパンは無しです。

Pimm's 
We watched one match and then had a rest time with Pimm's.
When we make our own Pimm's we use a lot of fruit, 
although here, they are simple like these.
I felt comparatively high in price, although it is one of their features so we had them.
However, we did not have other popular features 
strawberries and cream or champagne. 

一般的には甘味炭酸水で割って飲みます。
Normally it is diluted with sweet soda water.

4) No.12コート/ No.12 Court

No.12コートで〜す。
This is No.12 Court.

かわいい ボールガール 
ボールガールが登場し始めたのは1977年からでした。
センターコートには1985年から登場しています。

Ball girls only began in 1977 and on Centre Court in 1985.

またまたサービス風景

以前はセンターコートとNo.1コートだけについていた
ホークアイ(審判補助システム)が 、No.12にも設置されていました。

To begin with, Hawk-Eye was only used in Centre Court and No.1 Court,
now No.12 Court has it too.

5) センターコート / Centre Court

チャリティー (格安) センターコートチケットを求めて、ここに並びます。
正規のチケットで入場した人が目的の試合を見終わって帰り、
その後に空く席を午後４時すぎに安く売りだします。
私達はセンターコートか、No.1コートかを選択して並び購入します。
この値段は日よって違います。
この日、私達はセンターコートを選び、一席、10ポンドでした。
正規の価格は65ポンドですが、この 良い席とは限りません。

We joined this queue for charity (cheap) ticket for the Centre Court.
When people who have bought proper tickets choose not to return to their seats they can hand their tickets in and the seats be sold cheaper after 16:00.
We select Centre Court or No.1 Court and join its queue to buy the charity tickets.
The cost depends on the day.
We chose Centre Court and a seat was 10 pounds on this day.
The proper cost was 65pounds, although it is not always a good seat like here.

さすがにチャリティーのために席を譲ることができる方々の席は良い席！
'オールイングランドクラブ' のメンバーかもしれません。
周囲の方々は綺麗なカジュアル 系の服装なので、チャリティーの席にすわるにしても、
ある程度の小綺麗な服装は礼儀かもしれません。

Indeed, the people can give us as charity and their seats are very good!
They might be members of the 'All-England Club'.
Other members of the audience have beautiful casual wear, 
so even though we sit down in "charity seats",
manners might be that we wear relatively neat clothes .

屋根が開閉できるので、雨降りが多い時期の開催でもここなら大丈夫。

The roof can open and close, so that even if the season has a lot of rain,
this court could be alright.

今時のテニスをよく知らない私でも知っている彼女！
2015年のウィンブルドンテニスを制覇したのは彼女でした。

Serena Williams~~!
I was glad I could see Serena Williams (1981-)'s match directly.
I do not know present‐day tennis players although I knew her name!
She was a winner in 2015.

6) 帰り道 / On Our Way Home

夕暮れのウィンブルドン パーク
明日の試合のため順番取りの行列がすでに始まっています。
その横を歩いて家路に向かいます。

The queue for tomorrow had already started.
We walked past the queue to our home.

ウィンブルドン テニス ディスプレイ
家のすぐ近くのカーテン 屋さんが、こんなディスプレイをしていました。
今まで気がついていませんでしたけれど、毎年していたのかもしれません。

Wimbledon Tennis Display
This display was for a curtain shop which is close to our home.
The shop might have this style of display every year 
although I hadn't noticed before.

楽しい一日でした！
