扇が谷 / Ogigayatsu

1) 秋の道 / Road in Autumn

紅葉シーズンの海蔵寺への道がなかなか素敵で、ここ２年続けて秋になると訪れています。

このお寺は萩でも有名なようですが、その開花時期にはまだ来た事がありません。

その道は素敵でしたが、海蔵寺内の紅葉は既に終わりかけのようで、残念でした。

ただ、Rは、初めてここを訪れたので、喜んでいました。

Road in Autumn

It is a lovely road to Kaizoji-temple in Autumn colour season, so I have visited here for the last two years.

This temple is popular for Hagi, although I haven't visited while they blossom.

The road was wonderful today, although autumn colours seemed to be close to ending in Kaizoji's area, that's too bad.

However, it was the first time R visited here and he was very pleased.

大きな穴はやぐらです。

Big hole is Yagura.

周囲とあっている家ですね。
The house suits its environment, doesn't it?

2) 海蔵寺 / Kaizoji-temple

昨年来た時は、もみじが真っ赤でしたが今年はこんな感じ....

The Bell
When I came here last year, the leaves were very red,

this year is like this.

紅葉がなくても、お庭はきれいです。
紫の花はりんどう。

Even though autumn colour is not bright,

still their garden is beautiful.
The purple flowers are Rindow : Gentiana scabra.

賞をとったという庭には入れません。
写真を撮るのも窓越し(部屋越し？)です。

I heard the garden got someone's award

as a beautiful garden in Japan,
though we could not go in the garden.

I take photographs of the garden through a window or a room.

横から写真を撮るのも、仕切りがあり、構図もままなりません。

When I tried to take photographs of the garden from the side,
still there is a partition, so I cannot make

my desired layout in photographs.

池に飛び込むカワセミを目撃！
本物のカワセミを見たのも、カワセミの魚取りを見たのも

生まれて初めてでした。
私はカワセミはきれいな川のみで生息している

と思い込んでいました。

それがこんなところで目撃したので、

驚きも一層大きい！
残念ながら、私のカメラでは撮影できませんでした。

Sighting Kingfisher diving into the Pond!
It was the first time I saw a real kingfisher and the bird's hunting.
And also I thought kingfishers only live by clear rivers

and yet I witnessed it like this here,

so my surprise was very big.
Unfortunately my camera could not catch it hunting.

3)くるみるく / Kurumiruku

海蔵寺の敷地内から続く小道の先に、一般の家のリヴィングをカフェにした"くるみるく"があります。

パン工房でもあり、自家製のパンも販売しています。

Kurumiruku

A cafe : "Kurumiruku", along a narrow path from the temple, uses their own living-room.

The cafe is a bakery as well and they sell handmade bread.

パンよりも珈琲よりも、このストーヴが素敵かも？
This stove might be more lovely than their bread and coffee?

ストーヴがイノシシに見えませんか？
Does the stove look a boar?

こんなストーヴを初めて見ました。
It was the first time I saw a stove like this.

珈琲も美味しくいただきました。
テーブルのレリーフも素敵！

We enjoyed a cup of coffee, too.
The relief of the table is lovely!

鎌倉は自宅を利用したり、

古い家を使用したりしたカフェが多いです。

そして週末、祝日のみの営業というのも、今は、驚きもしません。
これが鎌倉スタイルなのだと思うようになりました。

Cafes in Kamakura often use their own houses or old houses.
And also they only open for weekends and national holidays,
now I am not surprised by these.
This is Kamakura style, and I am used to this.

入るまではほえたてますが、
一度家に入ってしまうと人なつこくなる犬のクロ。
大人しくなると、ちょっと猫のようです。

This dog, KURO yaps before people go in the house,
although after people have been in the house,

the dog becomes friendly.
When the dog becomes quite, he looks like a cat.

4) 再び海蔵寺へ / Back to Kaizoji-temple

There is a good atmosphere.

5) 十六井戸 / The 16th Well (Jurokunoi)

十六井戸(十六の井) は鎌倉時代 (1185-1333) の井戸です。

Jurokui: 16th Well was a well in the Kamakura period (1185-1333).

小さなトンネル？を通って行きます。
大丈夫かな〜とちょっと心配になります。

もう、暗くてピントがあいません。

Pass under a small arch.
I began to worry a little about here.

It was already too dark for my camera, it cannot focus.

素敵な家！
鎌倉は、えっと思うところに素敵な家がよくあります。

Lovely House!
In Kamakura, there are often lovely houses in unexpected places.

Poem about the Well is Carved on the Stone

こわ〜い！
中を見るのに、勇気がいります。
ここは昼間に来てもこわそうです。

Spooky~!
I needed my bravery to look inside.

Here, even in daytime it might look scary.

中央には石造りの観音菩薩像とその下には
弘法大師像が安置されているとか...
でもよくわからない.....こわいから確かめる事も出来ません。

I heard that in the centre is

a stone Goddess of Mercy : Kannonsama and
a statue of Kukai : Koubouitiashi, although I do not see clearly....
I felt very scared so I could not make sure.
