B. 年中クリスマス / Christmas All Year Round
年中クリスマス製品を販売している店を見つけました。
クリスマス製品が好きな私には、ちょっと嬉しい驚きがありました。
スェーデンは、サンタクロースの世界に、日本よりずっと近いので、年中クリスマス製品を売っている店に驚くことはないのですが....。

"生地と時代を超越したもの"
お店の名前が仰々しいのですが、販売されているものは
可愛らしいものが多いのです。
店先のカードが好みで入店しました。
看板に描かれているように、クリスマス製品がメインです。
"Fabrics and Timeless Things" : ★
The name of the shop is ostentatious, but there are many cute items on sale.
I entered the shop as I liked the cards at the shopfront.
As I can see on the sign, Christmas things are the main products.

Christmas All Year Round
I found a shop that sells Christmas products all year round.
I like Christmas products, and I had a nice surprise.
Sweden is much closer to Santa Claus's world than Japan, so I shouldn't be surprised to find a store selling Christmas products all year long...

赤いテーブルクロスに一目惚れして購入を決めました。
テーブルクロスは、エーケルンド/ Ekelund社の製品です。
私はエーケルンドを初めて知りました。
エーケルンド社は、1692年創業の繊維会社で
スウェーデン王室御用達です。
免税店です。
Tablecloths and Postcards
I fell in love with the red tablecloth and decided to buy it.
The tablecloth is a product by Ekelund.
I knew Ekelund for the first time.
Ekelund is a textile company founded in 1692

このお店だけでなく、他でも私はダーナ・ホースのデザインの
お土産を買いました。

A wood carved horse is a traditional Swedish craft :
so there are many horse souvenirs, not just as Christmas ornaments.
Not only in this shop, but in other places.
I bought souvenirs designed by Dana Horse.

知らないうちに、ここの製品を日本でもスウェーデンでも買っていました。

Both the design and colour use make me feel 'Western'.
I thought it would be a souvenir for someone, but I ended up making it my own!
I later learned that the brand is Almedahls.
It looks like a famous brand.
While I did not know of the brand,
I have bought their products both in Japan and Sweden.

'長くつ下のピッピ' を見つけて喜びました！
スウェーデンの作家といえば、私にとっては、
"長くつ下のピッピ" [初版 1045] の著者、
アストリッド・リンドグレーン (1907 - 2002)です。

I was delighted to find 'Pippi Longstocking'!
Speaking of Swedish authors, I think of Astrid Anna Emilia Lindgren (1907-2002),
the author of "Pippi Longstocking" [First Edition 1045].

リンドグレーンの本
リンドグレーンの本を読んだのは、随分前のことだったので、日本を発つ前に、リンドグレーンの本を読み返してみようと思い、鎌倉図書館から5冊借りました。
ですが、結局読むことができず、返却してしまいました。
Lindgren's Books
I had read Lindgren's books long ago, so I decided to try reading them again
before leaving Japan, so I borrowed five books from Kamakura Library.
However, after all, I could not read them and returned them.

"やかまし村の子どもたち"
(2000年, 文庫本)
透き通った清らかな空気があります。
物語そのものよりも、その空気感が強く印象に残っています。
"Six Bullerby Children" in Japanese
(Paperback, 2000)
Six Bullerby Children" has a crystal clear air.
For me, the atmosphere is stronger and more impressive than the story itself.

スウェーデンのヴィンメルビューには、リンドグレーンが生まれ育った1900年代初頭の村を再現したテーマパーク"アストリッド・リンドグレーン・ワールド /Astrid Lindgren's World /Astrid Lindgren Värld " があります。
旅行の計画の段階では、ここも候補に入れていましたが、今回はストックホルムに集中することにし、残念ながら、諦めました。
There is the theme park "Astrid Lindgren's World /Astrid Lindgren Värld" in Vimmerby, Sweden which recreates the village where Lindgren was born and raised in the early 1900s.
The World was a possible visit in the planning stage of our trip, but this time I decided to concentrate on Stockholm, and unfortunately gave up.

実は、私がリンドグレーンの作品で最も好きな本は、
悲しく美しい物語であったと記憶しています。
('ピッピ' や 'やかまし村' とは、とても違う世界です）
悲しいと感じたのは、私は、2冊とも死後の世界を描いていると
理解したからです。
今、読むと違う感想になるかもしれません。

In fact, my favorite books in Lindgren's work are
"Mio, My Son / Mio min Mio"
and "The Brothers Lionheart".
I remember them as sad and beautiful stories.
(They are quite different worlds from Pippi and the Six Bullerby Children)
I felt sad because I understood that both books portray the world after death.
Reading now may give me a different impression.
