私と夫Rは、2019年8月、コッツウォルズ旅行をしました。
I and my husband R made a trip to the Cotswolds in August 2019.

1) 散策 / Take a Walk
バーフォード / Burfordの ハフキンズ / HUFFKINSで、朝食をとりました。

シェアボーン/ Sherborneへ向かう予定なのですが、せっかく、バーフォードに居るので、少しは町を散策しようと思いました。


We had breakfast at HUFFKINS in Burford. 

Anyway we were in  Burford, I thought I would take a walk in the town for a while.

 ハイ・ストリートを少し、歩きました。
We walked on High Street  for a while.

観光地なので、お土産やさんが複数あります。
案内所 :   i  もあり、私達も利用しました。

Because it is a tourist spot, there are several souvenir shops.
There is also an information centre :    i  , which we also used.

私は購入を止めたのですが、Rはコッツオルズの観光冊子を案内所で買いました。

それが活かされることは、今もってありません。その存在さえも?

観光冊子を買うのなら、旅行の計画をたてる時に買い、少しはリサーチをしてほしいものですが、まあ、それは今後もないことでしょう。

Rには彼の良いところがたくさんあるので、そこに感謝する毎日です...。

案内所で駐車所で見た地図 (下の画像) と
同じ地図 (上の画像) があったのでもらいました。
お店の広告つきなので、無料です。

Burford Map

I got this map at the information centre, above,
 I saw a large version of the same map by the car park, below.

The paper one is free because it has advertisements for shops.

I stopped buying, but R bought a Cotswolds tourist booklet at the information centre.

It has never been put to good use. Even its existence?

If you want to buy a tourist booklet, I'd like you to buy it when planning your trip and do a little research, but well, it won't happen in the future, either.

R has a lot of good things about him, so I thank them every day ...

狭い通路を抜けると'小さなモール'？があります。
There is 'a small mall' ? through a narrow passage.

お菓子は見栄えがします。
The sweets look great.

このお店にだけ入りました。
ネールブラシ、ボトルブラシ 、'小さな羊の石鹸' を買いました。
このお店はオックスフォードに本店があるようです。

I only entered this shop.
I bought a nail brush, bottle brushes and small 'sheep soaps'.
This shop seems to have its main shop in Oxford.

石鹸は、母と姉へのお土産でした。
Soaps were souvenirs for my mother and sister.

魅力的な通路...これはミニ・トンネルのようです。
A fascinating passage ... This is like a mini tunnel.

ハイ・ストリート
アジア系の団体客 (日本人ではありません）と行き合いました。
バーフォードは思ったよりも知名度が高いのかもしれないと思いました。

We met a group of Asian tourists. (They were not Japanese)
I thought that Burford might be better known than I had imagined.

2) 園芸店 / Gardening Shop

駐車場からハフキンズに向かう時に、

随分綺麗なお庭だな〜と思った家がありました。
観光地なので、庭への意識がより高いのかもしれないと推測しましたが、
実は園芸店でした。
まあでも、本気で経営しているのか、趣味と実益を兼ねてなのかはわかりません。

When we headed to Huffkins from the car park,

there was a house which I thought it had a pretty garden.

I guessed that they might be more caring of the garden

because it is a tourist spot, but actually it was a gardening shop.

Well, I don't know if they are seriously managing it,

or if it's both a hobby and a business.

庭へは、自由に入ることができます。

帰り道に寄りました。

We could  enter the garden freely.

We popped in on our way back.

ベンチに無農薬りんごが売られています(寄付制)。
Organic apples are sold on the bench (donation system).

これは洋梨？ / Are they pears?

こんな場所が好きです。
I like this place.

窓辺に魔除けの仮面があります。
多分、魔除けですよね？
それとも泥棒よけ？

There are amulet masks on the windowsill.

Probably they are amulets, right?

Or are they against a thief?

こちらはひょうきん / This is jocular.

こちらはちょっと怖い / This is a little scary.
