㉞2017年9月10日 - アントワープ旅行 - 2) アート : MAX周辺 / Antwerp Trip - Art ; Around Max, 10th of September, 2017

1) 複合博物館MAS / Complex Museum MAS

A. 建物 / Building

複合博物館MASは、スヘルデ川沿いに位置 (下の地図 ; D3)し、2011年にオープンしました。

スヘルデ川沿いというよりは、ドックの中にと言うべきでしょうか？

Complex Museum MAS / Museum aan de Stroom is located on the River Schelde (below map ; D3), opened in 2011.

Should I call it in the dock rather than along the River Schelde?

中心地から離れている (Map D3) ので、行けたら行こう！というくらいの気持ちでした。

中心地での観光を大方終えた段階で、RがMaxに行きたいというので、歩いて向かいました。

それを判断した時には、私達がMASに着いたときには閉館時間を迎えているとわかっていたのですが、建物だけでも見に行こうと思いました。

そして、やっぱり、博物館は閉まっていて、ミュージアムショップだけ開いていました。

南側
アントワープで最も大きな博物館です。
47万の所蔵品を保持していますが、その大部分は倉庫に保管されています。

South Side
It is the largest museum in Antwerp.
They have 470,000 objects, most of which are kept in storage.

Because it is far from the centre (Map D3), let's go if we have time when I can go!
I had thought like this.

When we finished sightseeing in the centre, R said me 'I want to go to MAS,' so we went walking.

When we judged decided that, I knew that it would be closing time when we reached there, but I thought it was alright to only see the building.

And indeed the museum was closed, only the museum shop was open.

北側

60mの高さの建物は、Neutelings Riedijk Architects建築会社

によって設計されました。

外観は、インドの赤い砂岩と波打つガラスパネルでできています。

North Side

The 60m high building was designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects.

The façade is made of Indian red sandstone and waved glass panel construction.

10階建ての建物で、3階から8階までが展示スペースで3階は特別展を行っています。

アントワープの歴史もいろいろ工夫されて展示されているようです。

また10階にある展望台は無料でアントワープの街を一望できます。

この10階部分は、私達が訪ねた日には、午後10時まで開いていたので、それを知っていれば見ることができたのに、残念です。

行かない確率が高かったので、詳細を記憶していなかったのが悔やまれます。

i-phoneを持ったら、こういうことがなくなるのでしょうか？

This building with 10 stories is an exhibition space from the 3rd floor to the 8th floor, and the third floor has a special exhibition.

It seems that the history of Antwerp has been devised and exhibited.

Also, the observation deck on the 10th floor gives us free view of the city of Antwerp.

The observation deck was opened until until 10 pm, when we visited on the day,
if I knew about this, we could have seen the view, that's too bad.

Since the probability of not going to MAS was high, I regret not having memorized details.

Will such lack of knowledge disappear if I have an i-phone?

Probably small dots are aluminum hands.

B. 外壁に手 / Hands on the Walls

後になって、外壁には、アルミで作られた手が3,000個ほど付いていると知りました。

外壁にポツポツ何かあるとは思っていたのですが、それが手であることに気がつきませんでした。

波うつガラス / Waved Glass

Later, I found out that about 3,000 hands made of aluminum are embedded in the wall.

I thought that there were some things stuck on the wall, although I did not notice that they are hands.

C. ボナパルトドックとウィレムドック

　 Bonaparte-DockとWillem Dock

名前は 'ドック' / 'Dock' ですが、ハーバーの雰囲気だと思いましたら、現在、ドックではなく、海洋遺産の展示として使用されていました。

ミュージアム・ドック / Museum Dockと呼ばれているようでした。

The names are 'dDock' although I felt its atmosphere is harbour, because nowadays they are not used as docks,examples of maritime heritage are displayed there.

It seems to be called Museum Dock.
