アラン諸島
アラン諸島は3つの島からなり、西側から、
イニシュモア（英: Inishmore、愛: Inis Mór）、
イニシュマーン（英: Inishmaan、愛: Inis Meáin）、 イニシィア（英: Inisheer、愛: Inis Oírr）です。

泊まった、"Abbeyville B&B" は、バーナ / Barna / Bearnaにあります。
We stayed in "Abbeyville B&B" in Barna (Bearna). |
ゴールウェイ州の州都はゴールウェイで、Wikiには、
"おそらくアイルランドで最もすばらしい中世の町屋である"
と説明があり、音楽、映画、アート、(ホース)レース、オイスター(牡蠣)など多くのイベントがゴールウェイでは毎年開かれています。
私達のB&B: 'Abbeyville B&B' は、州都ゴールウェイから少し離れた、バーナ村 (Barna) にあります。
ここを選んだ訳は、アラン諸島 : ★へ行きたかったから。
アラン諸島へは、フェリーで行きますが、天候によっては欠航になるかもしれないので、B&Bは2泊予約しました。
'Abbeyville B&B' は、とても良いB&Bでした。

I could not go to Galway County on our Ireland trip in 2006, here became my main aim in this trip.
Galway town is described in Japanese Wiki as,
"Perhaps the most wonderful medieval town in Ireland",
and the town has many events such as music, movies, art, horse race, oyster etc. some held annually.
Our B & B: 'Abbeyville B&B' is in Barna, a little way from Galway town.
The reason why I chose here is because I wanted to go to the Aran Islands : ★.
We were going by ferry to the Aran Islands but depending on the weather it may be cancelled, so we booked the B&B for 2 nights.
'Abbeyville B&B' was a very good B&B!

ここだけでなく、このB&Bには、アート作品の油絵が飾ってあります。
'アート作品の'と書いたのは、多くの場合、B&Bで飾られている絵や写真は、 空間を埋めるための雑貨として扱われているからです。 このB&Bの油絵は、オーナーのバーナーデトゥ/ Bernadette の作品でした。
彼女はアート大学に子育て後に行ったそうです。
素晴らしい！
Breakfast
Not
only here but also many places in this B & B display
oil
paintings as the artworks.
I
write 'the artwork' because in many cases, B&Bs are decorated
with pictures
or photographs which seem to be treated as
miscellaneous goods,
because they treat them as a way of filling a
space.
The
oil paintings in this B & B were by the owner, Bernadette.
She
said that she went to art university after bringing up her
children.
Great!

フルーツも新鮮でたくさんの種類があります。
私が好きなB&Bの要素のひとつは缶詰でないフルーツ、ナマのフルーツを 出すところで、種類がたくさんあるとなお嬉しい！ Fruits

are also fresh and there are many kinds.

of the elements of my favorite B & Bs is
that
they serve freshly prepared fruits,
and
also I am more pleased if there are plenty of
different fruits.

ここでは、2日間とも私はトマトとマッシュルームでした。
マッシュルームがバターで炒めてあり、美味しかった〜！
スコーンがあったのでパンは食べませんでした。
I had tomatoes and mushrooms both days here. The mushrooms were sauteed with butter, they were delicious! As there were handmade scones I did not have any bread. |

おもてなし/ Hospitality
18日にアラン諸島へ行き、帰ってきたら、
バーナーデトゥがスコーンと紅茶、コーヒーで もてなしてくださいました。もちろん、無料です。 この紅茶のポットは、通常朝食には使用されていません。 私が紅茶のポットを気に入ったら、 2日めの朝食に同じポットを出してくれました。 初日の晩も、レストランへ予約の電話を入れてくれました。 至れり尽くせりのB&Bでした。
We went to the Alan Islands on the 18th, and came back,
Bernadette was very hospitable giving us scones, tea and coffee.
Of course, it was free.
This teapot is not normally used for breakfast.
When I told her that I liked the teapot,
she readied the same teapot for my breakfast the next day.
In the evening of the first day,

バーナ村
(Barna
Village)で、1 番のディナー候補に"O'Gradys
on the Pier"を選んでいましたが、到着時間がわからなかったので、予約はいれていませんでした。
"O'Gradys on the Pier"は、B&Bから、徒歩5分ほど(ウ〜ン、3分かな？)の場所にあるので、予約なしに出かけようとしましたが、人気があるレストランなので、先にも書いた様に、バーナーデトゥが予約の電話を入れてくれました。

木曜日の晩で、レストランに到着したのは8時を回っていました。
満席！
少し待って、窓際の席にすわりました。
私達の後からもお客さんは来ていました。
やっぱり人気のレストラン!

on the Pier" for the evening's dinner in Barna

on the Pier" is a 5 min walk from the B & B (well, 3
minutes?), so we were going to try without reservation, however, Bernadette as I wrote earlier, made a
phone call for our reservation, because they are very popular.
On
Thursday evening, it was after 8 o'clock when we arrived at the restaurant.
No
vacant tables!
we waited for a while and sat down at a window table.
Even after us, other customers
came.
After
all it is a popular restaurant!
生牡蠣
アイルランドで生牡蠣を食べない訳には行きません！
Rは牡蠣は食べられないので、これ、私一人で食べました！
真ん中の玉ねぎと赤ワインのソース(?)と牡蠣がよくあって美味しかった！タバスコは１個だけに使いました。 Raw Oysters
I
will not go Ireland and not eat raw oysters!
R cannot eat oysters, so I ate them all.
The
sauce(?) of onion and red wine in the middle
went very well with the oysters, so
they were delicious!
I only used Tabasco for one.

| 私のメイン 美味しくいただきましたが、日本のレストランの味のほうが繊細だと思いました。 けれども、魚料理に、チェリソを合わせるアイディアは素敵だと感じましたし、 (私が今まで知らなかっただけでよくあることなのかもしれません) 美味しい！と素直に思いました。 My Main Dinner
Although it was delicious, I thought Japanese restaurant's taste is more delicate.
However, I felt that the idea of matching Chorizo to fish dishes was nice
(although it may be a common thing, just that I did not know of it until then),
I thought, Ah! delicious!

Rのメイン
いつものように、Rの食の問題はついて回ります。 ウエイトレスとシェフは頑張ってくれて、美しい一品が Rに届きました。 けれでも、Rにはエビに何かが臭ったらしくエビは私のもとへ。 スタッフに確認しましたが、シェフはRのだめな食材は使用していないとのこと。 彼は、魚の部分はしぶしぶ食べました。 いつも、いろいろなことで外食はつらいことが多く、 なかなか二人一緒に幸せになれません。 R's Main
As
usual, R 's food problem goes around.
The
waitress and the chef were doing their best
and a beautiful dish for R has
arrived.
But the prawns have some odour, he cannot eat so they came to me.
He
confirmed it to the staff, although the chef said that
he
was not using R 's
problems ingredients.
R was
reluctant to eat part of the fish.
Always
eating out is a painful thing in many things,
it
is hard to be happy together.

食後に浜辺をふらふらと....
犬と散歩していた女性が、ゴールウェイの音楽は、素晴らしいと話していました。
機会があればぜひ...

Beach
I feel
this is an Irish scene.
After the dinner, we wandered the beach.
A
woman who was walking with a dog, said that Galway's music is
wonderful.
If we have a chance, I would experience the music. |
