1) 再び、 "ここに"！/ "High and Over",  Again!

また来ました！'High and Over' に！
今回はヒルフィギュアの白い馬のためにです。
ちなみにこの丘も向こうの丘もリッティントン村 / Litlington。

ヒルフィギュア（英語: hill figure）とはイギリスの石灰岩の丘陵地帯に画かれた
地上絵である。英語では"chalk figure"、"hillfigure"、"chalk carving"、"chalk horse"、"white horse"など様々に呼ばれる。
日本語ではヒルフィガー、丘絵、ホワイトホースとも訳される。
上空からではなく、向かいあった斜面や遠方など地上から
見ることを意識して作られている。

'High and Over', again!
This visit is for the Hill Figure of a White Horse .
By the way, this hill and the hill opposite are in Litlington.

実際の白い馬を探すけれども、牛ばかり....
I looked for a real white horse, although all cows...

この景色の中に心が解き離れる...
My heart soars in this view...

上は同じ丘に立って白い馬を撮影
下は反対の丘に立って撮影
白い馬を見るには反対側からということですね。
英国には結構多くヒルフィギュアがあると私は感じています。
このヒルフィギュアに惹かれるものがあり、
旅の中で見つけるとそこに行きたくなってしまいます。

Above photograph: I photographed this when I was on the same hill as the horse.
Below : I took from the hill opposite. 
If we want to look at the horse, we should view from the hill opposite, should't we?
I feel there are a few Hill Figures in Britain.
The Figures are attractive for me, if I have a trip, I would see more.

この景色のどこかを歩いたと思うと、
初めてここに来て景色を見たときとは違う思いがあります。

If I consider that I walked somewhere in this view,
 I can have different feelings or thoughts from when I first visited here.

2) 反対側の丘 / The Hill Opposite 

'High and Over' から反対側の丘の麓まで車で移動しましたが、谷をつっきって行くのでなく、ぐる〜っと回ります。

その後は、'South Downs Way'の標識に沿って徒歩移動。

We moved from 'High and Over' to the opposite hill by our car, however, the road did not run straight across the valley, but ran around. 

After then we followed the signs for 'South Downs Way' on foot.

木の標識よりも古そうな石の標識
The stone sign looks older than the wooden sign.

私は木や石の標識が結構好きです。
自分の勘や知識に自信が持てないせいでしょうか？
それとも日本のメタルの標識に味気ない思いを抱いているせいでしょうか？

I love signs made of wood or stone.
Is a reason that I could not have confidence in my intuition or my knowledge?
Or I feel dull about Japanese signs made of metal?

サウスダウンズウエイを歩いています。
We are walking along the 'South Downs Way '.

私達が泊まったB&B : "Riverdale House"が見えます。
I see B&B :" Riverdale House" where we stayed. 

白い馬が見えます。
白い馬に対する思いは、私だけでなく、
世界中で、他の色の馬とは違う思いを抱くようです。
しばしば、伝説や文化の中で特別な役割を担っています。
ペガサスもユニコーンも白ですよね。

I see the White Horse.
White horses seem to give us different feelings and thoughts 
rather than other colour horses all over the world, not only for me.
The white horses role is often with special feeling and thought 
in mythology and culture.
Pegasus and Unicom are white, aren't they !?

牛との間に柵があれば、私も平気です...(笑）

If there is a fence between the cows and me,
 I should be alright. (laugh)

角もあるけれど、飼い主のタグもある
He has horns and a tag of his owner.

Flowers Blossom in a Field

大事にされている馬
この馬も白馬といえなくもない？
多くの場合、灰色の馬も'白馬'とされるようです。

Well-loved Horse 
Can it be said this horse is a white horse?
It often seems to be that a gray horse is identified with a white horse.
