最終日の 'ファージョンを追って'

Last day 'Following Farjeon'

アルフリストンの本屋さんで得た情報に沿って、エリナー•ファージョン(1881 - 1965)の家（親戚の家？）を探してみました。

どちらにしても、詳細なものではないので、ここかな〜という予測の範囲は出ないのです。

そうではあっても、今でもファージョンの子孫または親戚の方が住んでいらっしゃるというので、家そのものの写真はここには載せません。

Last day 'Following Farjeon'

We followed up possible information about Farjeon (1881 - 1965)'s house 

(or 'her relative's house') and tried to find it. 

Whatever, the information was not detailed, so I just guessed this was the house.

I photographed a house in which I guessed the author's relative or descendant might live, but I do not included in my blog.

ライプ 村
'この村のどこかに'というだけの情報がたより。
ドゥームズデイ・ブック/Domesday Book にこの村の説明があります。

ドゥームズデイ・ブックとは(下記Wikipediaより）
"イングランド王国を征服したウィリアム1世が行った検地の結果を記録した
世界初の土地台帳の通称である。1086年に最初の台帳が作られた。"

The Village of 'Ripe '

We only thought the house might be in this village.
The Domesday Book mentions this village.
Below: Wikipedia about the book.
"The Domesday Book is a manuscript record of the "Great Survey" 
of much of England and parts of Wales completed 
in 1086 by order of King William the Conqueror"

'Apple Tree Cottage'
'アップルツリーコテージ'という名の家が
ピピンを思い起こすので、私としては勝手にここが
ファージョンの家だと決めました。
正確に言うと、サセックスに滞在した時に使用した家ということですが。

この村は'サウスダウンズウエイ/ South Downs Way'からかなり離れています。

（距離3,4Km?)

また、そこから徒歩で海岸まで行くにもかなりの距離があります。

なので、ファージョンが家から海(英国海峡）まで通常の散歩道としたことが
信じきれないのです。

途中まで車などを使用したのかもしれません....?

I just decided the house was here, 
because the house name reminds me of Pippin.
Strictly speaking the author lived in London, but stayed in Sussex sometimes.

The village is quite a distance from the South Downs Way. (About 3,4 Km)

In addition, after the reaching the South Downs Way, 

again one has quite a walk to the sea: English Channel.

So I cannot completely believe the author used here for regular walking.

She might have used a car or something else, mightn't she?

The Village Church
There is a Celtic Cross~!

教会の塀脇にりんごの木が....
珍しいかな？と感じました。

There are apple trees beside the wall of the church.
I felt it is unusual.

しっかりした印象の馬
They look solid.

The sign of the Lamb caught my eyes, so I took this from our car.

この後に、ウエイクハースト/ Wakehurstによって、ウィンブルドンの家に帰りました。

After this village, we visited Wakehurst and came back home to Wimbledon.

ようやく、昨年の'サセックスの旅'の記録を終えることができました。

ゆっくりですが、その後のことも少しずつ、このブログに加えてゆこうと思います。

既に、2014年の9月になってしまった〜！

Finally I finished the record of "The Trip in Sussex last year" now.

I will slowly add later things in my blog.
