1) ２回の訪問 / Two Visits
２回来ようと計画したわけではありませんでした。
もちろん、最初の訪問は、ここにとても来たかったからでした。
一度目は、セブン•シスターズを見学後、麓部分から来ました。
二度目は、ホワイト•ホースを見て、ウィンブルドンの家に帰ろうと、
田舎道を走り、丘を越えたらここにでてきたのでした。

30日には、この写真のグリーンの線：幅が狭い道を通って、
車で丘から降りて来ました。

We came down the hill by car on the 30th along a narrow road : a green line in this photograph. |
Two Visits
I did not plan to have two visits here.
Of course I really wanted to visit here, so our first visit was planed after visiting the 'Seven Sisters', we came here to see him from the foot of the hill.
Our second visit was after looking at the 'White Horse', as we set off for home in Wimbledon, we drove along country lanes and over a hill, then we realized we were on the hill of "The Long Man of Wilmington".

Seven Sisters and The Long Man
28日の訪問は、セブン•シスターズを見てからここに来ました。
その組み合わせは意図したものでありませんでしたが、このお話の組み合わせと同じです。
ふたつが近くにあるということだと思います。
ファージョンは本当にサセックスが大好きだったのだな〜とあらためて思います。
Seven Sisters and The Long Man
The author wrote about the 'Long Barrow' in the story.
It should be close to the 'Long Man', although I could not find where it is.
The translator, Momoko Ishii 's postscript with photographs of the Sisters and the Long Man are in the book.

| 背高男を撮影しているとき、何やら動いているものがありました。 それが近くに来て、モデル(模型)飛行機を 持った男の人であると気がつきました。 背高男の上で、飛ばしていたのでしょうか？ 残念ながら、その様子は見そびれてしまいました。 When I photographed the Long Man, I realized something was moving. It was coming towards us, so I could realize it was a man with his model airplanes Did he fly them on the Man? If so, unfortunately I missed it. |
