❷７月のリトグラフ / Lithographs in July

７月27日 / 27th of July

猫のまりちゃんは、最初から邪魔にならない隅でお休みです。
The cat, Mari chan was already slept in the corner out of the way.

1) 赤のベタ版 / Plain Red Plate

今日はグラデーションを学びます。

そしてまた、自分のドローイングに、このグラデーションを刷ります。

先生に、ドローイングのタッチが生きるように、透明水彩風にしたいことも伝えました。

Today, I would learn a gradation technique. 

And also I would print the gradation onto my drawing. 

I told my teacher that I hope the marks in my drawing still appear clearly after printing, so the printing looks like a transparent watercolour style.

通常は版に紙を載せますが、

今回は紙に版をのせます。

Usually paper is put on a plate for printing, 

however, this time,  the red gradation plate is put on my drawing.

最初は先生がお手本を見せます。
First of all, the teacher shows me an example.

左は、トレーシングペーパーを使用した試し刷り。
Left: Test print on a tracing paper.

2) 休憩時間 / Intermission 

ゴーヤが工房の窓を被います。
Goya : bitter melon covered the windows of the studio. 

裏庭にもゴーヤ。
先生がちょうど良い大きさを選んでくれました。
Goya is in back garden, too.
My teacher selected a good one for me. 

帰宅後、ゴーヤチャンプルを作りました。

ごちそうさま〜、先生！

After getting home, I cooked Goya Chanpuru. 

I enjoyed it, thank you my teacher!

3) 青のベタ版 / Plain Blue Plate
青も同様に水彩風です。
Blue colour in same way as Red.

通常は何枚か刷った後に色をたします。
が、べた版のグラデーションの場合は一回ごとに色をたします。
ということは、一枚も同じ刷りはできないということですね。

Usually, a mixed colour last for several prints,
however, for a plain gradation plate we add colour for  every prints.
It means we never make the same plain prints, doesn't it?

4) 赤と青 / Red and Blue
今日はとっても楽しかった！！！

少しづつ、いろいろな方法を学ぶ事、そしてグラデーション効果を楽しむ幸せがありました。

I really enjoyed today!

I was happy that I learned something step by step and the effect was enjoyable. 

5) 本日のめだか 
　Today's Medaka : Japanese Killifish 

小さいメダカはちょっと大きくなると下の水槽に移動します。

Tiny Medaka become a little bit bigger so then they were moved into 
a larger tank. 

さらに大きくなると、もっと大きな水槽(下の写真)に移されます。

このような順を踏むのは、小さなうちに、この水槽に入ってしまうと大きなメダカに食べられてしまうからです~!

They again became bigger than before, and they were moved into 
a larger tank (see below photograph) .

Why do they need moving ;  because big Medaka eat smaller Medaka!

6) のだめカンタービレの漫画
　 MANGA : Nodame Cantabile 

のだめちゃんと千秋のストーリーは、

私にやる気をあたえてくれます。

Nodame and Chiaki ( they are the main characters)
give me motivation.

先生の奥様から、のだめちゃんの漫画全巻を先月お借りしたので、
本日返却しました。

私はアニメーションは見ていましたが、漫画は読んでいませんでした。

最終巻はアニメーションになっていませんでしたし、
他の話もアニメーションとは少し違っていましたから、
借りられてとても嬉しかったです♥。

ありがとうございました。

しかし〜、私はこのリトグラフ工房に何をしに来ているのか、時々、わからなくなります。(笑)

 MANGA : Nodame Cantabile
I borrowed the whole volume Nodame Cantabile  : Manga from my teacher's wife in June, then I returned them today.

I had watched the animation of  Nodame Cantabile , although I hadn't read the Manga and the animation stories are slightly different from the Manga which are the original stories. 

Moreover, the story in the last volume has not been animated. 

So I really glad I could borrowed and read them.

By the way, sometimes I do not know what I come to the studio for. (laugh)
