A. 恩田作品 / The Work of Onda
おもしろかったですが、恩田さんには'もっと！'と望んでしまいます。
各章の出だしがベルの音で始まる設定は、劇が好きな恩田さんらしく、舞台演出のような書きっぷりです。
少なくとも、私はベルの音の描写で居もしない (不特定の) 登場人物がはっと顔をあげる様が思い浮かびました。
他の設定には、いろいろとぎくしゃくとした思いを抱きつつも、
楽しく読みました。
理屈はどうあれ、読者を楽しませてくれるこういう点が、
恩田作品の魅力なのかもしれません。

I enjoyed it, although not as much as I had hoped having read several of Riku Onda's other books.
Every chapter starts with the ring of a doorbell, perhaps like a stage production, because she likes theatre.
At least for me, when I read about the ringing of a door bell, I imagined whoever was inside lifting their heads straightaway.
Other contrivances did not help my understanding, though I still enjoyed the book as a whole.
I can say ambiguous things in her stories might be her trademark.

私はタイトルとして"訪問者"と聞くと萩尾望都さんの漫画: "訪問者"
(下の写真)を思ってしまいますね。

恩田さんも、この本のあとがきで、萩尾さんの"訪問者"のことを書いました。
そうでしょう、驚きはしません。
