Angel Trumpet
友人のグループ展を見るために外出しました。
我が家からバス停までの道で、エンジェルス トランペット ★が綺麗に咲いていました。
エンジェルス トランペットには、複数の種類があります。
私が見た花は、白だったので、'ブルグマンシア・スアウォレンス'
(和名：キダチチョウセンアサガオ) という種類かもしれません。

Angel Trumpet
I went out to see a friend's group exhibition.
On the way from my house to the bus stop, I saw beautiful Angel Trumpet flowers in bloom.
There are several varieties of Angel's Trumpet.
The flower I saw was white, so it might be a variety called 'Brugmansia Suawallens'.

| 苔丸 最寄りのバス停前に、'草木屋・苔丸' があります。 建物と植物、苔丸のセンスが好きです。 撮影時間があれば、いつも撮影しています。 Kokemaru In front of my nearest bus stop, there is "Kusakiya・Kokemaru". I love the building, the plants and the sense of "Kokemaru". Whenever I have time to take photos, I always do. |

このグループ展に展示されている作品は、とてもレベルが高く、それぞれの方々がプロの腕前をお持ちになっていることを感じます。
趣味で版画をされている方々のグループ展とは一線を画すと訪れるたびに感じます。

The works on display in this group exhibition are of a very high level, and you can tell that each artist is a professional.
Every time I visit, I feel that this is different from group exhibitions of people who do printmaking as a hobby.

| 召田 能里子作品 (シルクスクリーン) 残念ながら作品タイトルがわかりません。 シルクスクリーンの良さを生かし、 キーワードの"border"をストレートに感じます。 美しい水平線での風景を直線によって 表現したのかなと推測します。 Works by Noriko Mesuda (Silkscreen) Unfortunately, I don't know the title of this work. Taking advantage of the strengths of silkscreen, the keyword of "border" feels straightforward. I guess she expressed a beautiful landscape with a horizon using straight lines. |
召田能里子(メスダノリコ / ?~ )さんとは、英国留学前に通っていた陶芸教室・'イエロークレイ' で、お会いしました。
彼女の陶芸作品も、彼女から届く季節のハガキの作品も好きです。
彼女が参加する、'未来への視座' にも来廊したいと思いつつ、毎回は行けません。
ですが、今回は行くことができ、彼女にも会え、彼女の作品も見ることができて嬉しかったです。

メールを読んだ後、あのとき彼女と会話をした内容を思い出しました。
『上段の作品のタイトル : "マイムマイム"
本来の "マイムマイム" の意味は、砂漠で水を掘り当てた時の歓びの歌です。
下記、Wiki、'マイムマイム'より
"『マイム・マイム』（Mayim Mayim）は、開拓地で水を掘り当てて人々が喜ぶさまを歌ったイスラエルの楽曲である。"
横ストライプの色はゴラン高原の大地と水脈 (水色の線) と空のイメージです。
人間都合のボーダーによって分断を繰り返す土地ですが本来の自然は泰然とそこに広がっているのに、との思いを込めました。
下段のタイトル: "bravo"
きっかけは「ここが家だ ベンシャーンの第五福竜丸」を読んだことです。

こちらも横ストライプの色はマーシャル諸島の海 (エメラルド色と有害物質を表す紫) と空 (青空) と宇宙 (一番上の銀色の線) のイメージです。
縦のストライプは爆心地を中心に広がる、ブラボーが太平洋上の広範囲に影響を及ぼした爆発の様子です。
私たちの持つイメージとかけ離れた「ブラボー」。
そんなことがあったことを心に刻んだことを伝えたいとの思いで作品化しました。』
彼女の作品はいつも社会的な出来事にたいする思想があるな〜とあらためて思い、尊敬の念を抱きます。
私の作品解釈が、とても表面的であったと恥ずかしい気持ちになりました。
Works by Noriko Mesuda
I met Noriko Mesuda at Yellow Clay, a pottery class I attended before studying abroad in the UK.
I like her pottery works and the seasonal postcards she sends me.
I'd like to visit the gallery at 'Perspectives for the Future', an event she participates in, but I can't always go.
However, this time I was able to go, and I was happy to meet her and see her works.

After reading the email, I remembered the conversation I had with her back then.
『Title, Upper : "Mayim Mayim"
The original meaning of "Mayim Mayim" is a song of joy when water is found in the desert.
According to Wiki, "Mayim Mayim",
"Mayim Mayim ( "water, water") is an Israeli folk dance, danced to
a song of the same name

The dance was created in 1937 for a festival to celebrate the discovery of water in the desert after a seven-year search."
The colours of the horizontal stripes represent the land, water veins (light blue lines) and sky of the Golan Heights.
The land is repeatedly divided by borders for human convenience, but the original nature spreads out there calmly.
Title, Lower : "bravo"
It all started when I read "This is Home: Ben Shahn's Lucky Dragon No. 5".

According to Wiki "Daigo Fukuryū Maru",
"Daigo Fukuryū Maru (第五福龍丸, F/V Lucky Dragon 5) was a Japanese tuna fishing boat with a crew of 23 men which was contaminated by nuclear fallout from the United States Castle Bravo thermonuclear weapon test at Bikini Atoll on March 1, 1954."
"Bravo"; 'Castle Bravo' is the operational name of the hydrogen bomb test conducted by the United States on 1st of March, 1954 at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

The colours of the horizontal stripes also represent the Marshall Islands' ocean ; emerald colours, and purple colours
representing harmful substances.
The colours of the horizontal stripes also represent the Marshall Islands' sky ; blue sky colours, and space ; the silver line at the top.
The vertical stripes represent the explosion of Bravo, which spread from the hypocenter and affected a wide area over the Pacific Ocean.
"Bravo" is far removed from the image we have.
I created this work with the desire to convey the fact that something like this happened.』
I am reminded once again that her works always contain thoughts about social issues, and I feel a sense of respect for her.
I felt embarrassed that my interpretation of the work was so superficial.
C. 世俗を離れた森
Forest Away From The World
それぞれの作品に良い緊張感があり、自分の身が浄化されていくような気持ちになりました。
世俗を離れた森の中を歩いているような感じでした。
There was a good sense of tension in each piece, and I felt like my body was being purified.
It felt like I was walking through a forest away from the world.
素敵な経験をさせていただき、ありがとうございました。
