9) 陶管を熱線に通し、中へ押し込み、もとの状態に戻します。
Ceramic pipes are pushed onto the elements, to return to their original positions.
10) 接続金具も差し込み、Lレンチを使用し、締め留めします。
The blocks are pushed onto the elements and tighten bolts using Allen Key.
11) 余分な熱線をきります。 / Cutting Excess from the elements.
9) 陶管を熱線に通し、中へ押し込み、もとの状態に戻します。
Ceramic pipes are pushed onto the elements, to return to their original positions.
10) 接続金具も差し込み、Lレンチを使用し、締め留めします。

11) 余分な熱線をきります。 / Cutting Excess from the elements.
13) 温度上昇を確かめるテストをします。どのプログラムでもかまいません。
Try testing that the temperature rises using any program.

個人で"日本電産シンポ/ SHIMPO"に連絡をとらず、窯を購入した販売店を経由して修理なり、熱線交換の希望を伝える方がスムーズに行くと、経験を通して思います。
窯の出張修理が実現するまで、不愉快な思いをし、時間もかかり、ネットショップ(★)のお世話にもなり....いろいろなことがありました。(下記)
11月の窯と焼成そして2015年個展のタイトル/ Kiln and Firing, in Novem...
一度は、愛知県にあるネットショップからの出張修理に決まりましたが、再び
"日本電産シンポ/ SHIMPO"さんからという話になり、12月11日にSHIMPOさんから出張修理に来ていただき、無事終了しました。
修理にいらしてくださった方は親切で、今までのSHIMPOさんの対応の悪さに反比例するものでした。
機械音痴の私にとって、出張修理は意義がありました。
このセクションを見て、高額な費用を払わず、自分で熱線交換ができる方が増えていただければと願いつつ、修理の過程をまとめます。
熱線そのものが高いのは、それはもう仕方ないことですね。
Repairing Kiln
I think if you want to ask something about your "A Nidec SHIMPO Corporation" 's kiln; for example, repair or changing the elements, it is better to ask through the shop where you bought your kiln rather than talking direct to the company: SHIMPO.
Until the repair visit I had unpleasant experiences with SHIMPO and it took so much time.
However, a net shop (★) looked after me in many ways. (below)

Once it was decided that somebody from the net shop would visit and repair then
"Nidec SHIMPO Corporation" changed their response and a person could visit and repair on 11th of December.
The person was kind which was quite opposite to SHIMPO's correspondence.
The visiting repair was very worthwhile for me who is very weak about machinery.
I hope people who need to change the elements look at this section and then they can change them themselves without the high cost.
The elements are expensive enough, we have no choice, do we?

1) 最初に/ First

| 窯の後ろ(背面板)を開けます。 Open the back panel of the kiln  アース線(緑)は、つけたままでOK. Leave the earth wire (green) connected.  |
2) 次にLレンチを使用してセットボルトをゆるめ、接続金具を外します。
Next using Allen Key loosen "Set Bolts" and then take out the electric connecting blocks.

| Lレンチ 説明書には"付属のLレンチ"と書いてありますが、 送られてくる熱線にはついていません。 もしかしたら、窯を購入したときには付いていたのかもしれませんが、 現在は私は持っていません。 なので、次回自分で交換するときは セットボルトに合うサイズのものを購入しなければなりません。 ちなみに今回のレンチは出張者持参のものを使用していました。 Allen Key The instructions say 'an accessory Allen Key', although the new elements do not have one when SHIMPO or your shop send them. Maybe when I bought the kiln, it came with it. I do not have one now. So next time when I change the elements, I must buy one which fits. | 窯の中から熱線が後ろまで貫通していて、 接続金具(接続板)の中も通り、ここに出ています。 ちょこっと釘の先が出ているように見えるのが熱線です。 The ends of the elements pass from the inside of the kiln to the outside. They go into the electric connecting blocks. The elements stick out like the top of a needle from the blocks. |

3) 次に"陶管"を手でつまみ出します。

4) 熱線を外します。/ Taking out the elements.

| 留めてある金具: "Uピン"をペンチで 左右上下に丁寧に揺らしながら、引っ張りだします。 The "U pins" holding the elements in place are very stiff. They need to be slightly jiggled while pulling them out using pin-nose pliers .  ゆっくりと熱線を引っぱり外します。 Slowly pull out the elements by hand. |

| 上：古いUピン/ 下：新しいUピン ときどき古い金具は折れてしまいます。 なるべく折れないように引っぱり出すのが好ましいようですが、 プロの方がしてもやはり折れるのです。 炉壁に多少古いものが残ってしまっても仕方がないようです。 At the top: Old 'U Pins' / At the bottom: New ones Sometimes the elements are broken while taking them out. It is best not to break them, however, even this professional did break some. It cannot be helped if a little part of the old 'U pins' are left in the walls. |

5) 炉壁の修理 / Repair Kiln Wall

| 1mm程度のヒビは無視, 3mm以上は修理 私の窯は左右、下の段に一つずつこれにあたるヒビがあったので、 それを修理してもらいました。 Ignore 1mm cracks, Repair over 3mm cracks My kiln had one crack on both side at the bottom, and then they were repaired.  "ファイバーキャスト"(★/ ★)という不定耐火断熱材 (セラミックファイバーと無機バインダー等を 湿式混合したペースト状の不定形耐火)でヒビを埋めます。 修理の方が既に用意されていた素材です。 SHIMPO さんでは直接売ってはいないとのことですが、 どこかできっと買えるのでしょう。 古いUピン跡は修理はせず、そのままにします。 "Fiber Cast" pushed into the cracks. "Fiber Cast": Kaowool Ceramic Fiber Cement : ★ The repair man brought it. SHIMPO does not sell it, although I think we can buy it somewhere. Leave the holes of the old 'U pins'.  |
6) 新しい熱線取り付けます。 / Fixing New Elements

| このような状態で送られて来ます。 They send the elements like this.  新しいUピンは折れてしまった時ように、多めに送られてくるので、 全部を使用する必要はありません。 They give us more new 'U pins' than we need in case we break some. So we do not have to use all of them. |

| 全形 両端が湾曲しています。 これをまっすぐにしてさしこまないと、スムーズに中へ通ってゆきません。 Whole Form before fitting Both of the ends are curved; they need to be straightened before we can fit them. If you do not make them straight, they cannot be pushed through the back wall smoothly. |

| 通りにくい場合は裏からまっすぐな熱線を入れて 通りやすくする。 If it is not smooth, you can push the straight elements from the back and make it pass more easily. |

7) Uピンを広げます。 / Open U Pins
 |
| Uピンは先が狭められた状態(閉じられ気味)なので、 打ち付ける前に多少広げます。 The tops of the U pins are slightly closed, so you need to open a little before using them. |
8) Uピンをハンマーで炉壁に打ちつけます。
U pins are hit into the walls by a hammer.

| 平均的に幅をとって打ち付ける 以前のUピン跡である穴を避ける。 熱線交換をするたびに穴が増えてゆくわけです。 Equally spaced Avoid the old holes. Thus each change leaves more holes. |

9) 陶管を熱線に通し、中へ押し込み、もとの状態に戻します。

10) 接続金具も差し込み、Lレンチを使用し、締め留めします。
The blocks are pushed onto the elements and tighten bolts using Allen Key.

| 陶管と接続金具の間に隙間を作ります。 温度上昇したときに膨張し、ショート(短絡)の原因になるのを 防ぐためだからそうです。 Make a little gap between Ceramic pipes and the block, because when the temperature becomes higher they intumesce (expand) which can cause a short circuit. |

11) 余分な熱線をきります。 / Cutting Excess from the elements.

| 温度上昇時に熱線が背面板に付くとショートの原因になるので、 余分に出ている熱線を切ります。 When the temperature rises, if the elements were to touch the back, it would become a short circuit, so we should cut away the excess elements.   |
13) 温度上昇を確かめるテストをします。どのプログラムでもかまいません。
Try testing that the temperature rises using any program.

翌日の12日に素焼き焼成をし、14日未明に無事終了しました。
The next day I started a bisque firing and it finished
without incident in the early morning of 14th of December. |
14) DMT-01型窯の寿命 / DMT-01 Kiln Life Span
最後にネットショップ (★) のTさんからいただいたメールを下にコピーします。

"電気窯のヒーター線はあと1回交換出来るかどうかだと思います。
焼成回数が増えるにつれ、炉壁の耐火断熱レンガが焼締まってきて蓄熱性が無くなってきます。
100Vの電気で昇温させようとした時に炉内の蓄熱性が無くなると最高温度になかなか達する事ができずにエラーが早く生じるようになります。
過去の経験から、ご購入から最初のヒーター線の交換までの使用回数を100％とすると、最初のヒーター線を交換してから次の交換までの使用回数は70～90％くらい、次の交換時には30～70％くらいではないかと思います。
お客様のご使用状況や、ご使用されているコンセントの電圧や電圧降下の具合によって変わって参ります。
炉壁とヒーター線は高温で長時間焼成すればするほど劣化いたしますので、ご購入後にメールでアドバイスをさせていただきました通り、少しでも低めの最高温度が寿命に関して言えば望ましいのです。
2回ヒーター線を交換すると、DMT-01の製品としての寿命と言うくらいになると思います。
製品の寿命と言っても本焼成が難しくなると言うだけですので、お客様によっては、素焼きや絵付けや楽焼専用窯としてご使用されたり、本焼成できる回数が少ないのを承知の上で3回目、4回目のヒーター線を交換されたり、お客様の自己責任で電気窯を改造して使用したりしています。"

DMT-01 Kiln Life Span
This kiln loses efficiency with use, particularly at highest temperatures.
After the first change of the elements, a rule of thumb is that the kiln is only 70~90% efficient, so reaching the highest glaze temperatures becomes more and more difficult.
After the second change, efficiency may only be 30~70%, however, it depends on user's situations, for example, the voltage.
The kiln can still be used for bisque firing, enamel or lustre firings.
Lastly I would say "Thank you very much, T San" who is the net shop's staff.
