2)新しいお店 / New Shops

Rが自転車でふらふらして、たくさんの新しいお店を見つけました。

リハビリと住み替えの物件探しをかねた外出時に、それらのお店も少しずつ行っています。

New Shops

R had mini meandering cycling trips and he found many new shops.

When I went out for rehabilitation and we were looking for our new home, we visited those shops little by little. 

Garden House

A. GARDEN HOUSE

鎌倉西口のスターバックスの隣にできたお店です。

ガーデン用品、植物も売っていますが、これらはレストランカフェの添え物のように思えました。

入り口付近は素敵ですが、庭もレストランカフェも、なにか、ちぐはぐな印象を受けました。

植栽は元気がなく、手入れをする人の愛情が感じられません。

何もかも新しいので、しっくりこないだけなのかもしれません...?

けれども、この地で素敵なお庭と軽食がとれるレストランをという
企画はよくわかる気がします。

GARDEN HOUSE

The shop is next door to Starbucks on the west  side of Kamakura station.

They sell garden tools and plants, however, I feel their wares are window-dressing for their restaurant.

Their entrance is stylish, although my impression is odd about the garden and the restaurant.

The planting does not look well, and I do not feel the love of a person caring for it.

Maybe everything is new so just for now not friendly....?

However, I really understand their plan for a light meal restaurant with a lovely garden in this environment.

ピザは美味しかったです。
でも珈琲が単品で500円でこの味？と疑問。
(食べ物とのセットでは同じ珈琲が安くなります)

The pizza is OK, although I wonder that their coffee is ¥500 
and tastes like this? 
(The same coffee is cheaper, when it is part of a set meal.)

植物が元気に見えないのは
鎌倉の他の植物が生き生きしているからかもしれませんね。
ここにある木々や植物たちも時間がたてば落ち着き、
元気になるのかもしれません。

The plants do not look fine, compared with other plants in Kamakura.
Perhaps the new plants become fine when they settle down.

B. 利々庵 / Lilian

 利々庵 / Lilian

利々庵は パン屋さんです。

女性だけで作り、素材は主に和風なものです。

きんぴらごぼうが練り込んであるパン、黒コメ入りの食パンなど、お店のサイトには、毎日100種類のパンがお店に出されるとあります。

きめ細かさが感じられ、Gama窯 のパンとは両極にあるように感じました。

'GAMA GAMA'へ行く/ Go To 'GAMAGAMA' 

どちらも好きな私は、節操がないでしょうか？(笑)

Lilian

利々庵 / Lilian is a bakery.

Their bakers are all women and their ingredients are mainly Japanese.

For example, Kinpira is in a bread, Black Rice is in a bread, and they say there are 100 types of bread every day.

I feel their bread tastes refined and this is opposite to GAMAGAMA's bread.

'GAMA GAMA'へ行く/ Go To 'GAMAGAMA'  

I like both of them, so I do not have principles, do I? (laugh)

新しいお店は、どこも入り口がおしゃれです。
でも、なんとなく、似通ったものが感じられるのは、
流行なのか、私の好みなのか？

The entrances of new shops are stylish,
though I feel they have similar styles.
Is the reason a fashion or my taste? 

C. Sasho 

営業時は看板が出され、ここがお店である事がわりますが、
なければ一般の家にしか見えません、
まあ、この門構えを一般といえるかは疑問ですね。(笑)

When they open, the sign is in front of the gate 
so we knew here is a cafe restaurant, 

if it is not, it would only look like a normal house.

Well, I wonder if this gate is normal. (laugh)

Rがここを発見！したのは偉い！

よくもまあまあ、こんな場所のカフェレストランを見つけられたものだと関心します。

ジャム専門店、鎌倉ロミユニコンフィール / Romi-UnieConfiture の左脇の道をず〜っと登ったところにあります。

お店の営業は不定期で、お店でのみ入手できるカレンダーによって
告知されます。

It was so great that R found this!

It was surprising that he found the cafe restaurant in a place like that, 
I was impressed.

Sasho is just behind  Romi-Unie Confiture : Jams shop .

They open irregularly and their calendar is only available in the restaurant showing the days they open.

この日はカメラを忘れたので、携帯カメラで撮影しました。
そのうえ既に日が陰って暗いので、
あまり写真は奇麗ではありませんが、
本当の庭はとても素晴らしいです。

I left my camera home, and I took these photographs 
by my mobile phone camera.
And also the sun was already obscured, 
so the photographs are not beautiful,
although the real garden is wonderful.

マンゴシフォンケーキ、マンゴソース添えと紅茶
誰かの家に招かれて、お茶しているような気がします。
茶器はいろいろなブランドが混じっています。
そんなところも、あまりあか抜けなくて、
ちょっと家庭っぽい雰囲気で、
ここにはあっているような気がします。
ブランドが全部整っていると、ホテルようですものね。

I felt somebody invited us in and we had tea.
Tea services are mixed brands.
This is rustic and has an atmosphere of home which suits here.
If they are perfect brand sets, it would look like a hotel, wouldn't it?

私の好きな福田平八郎画伯 (1892-1974) の絵が飾ってあります。
写真がよく撮れてなくてすみません。

There is a picture by my favourite painter, 
Heihachiro Fukuda (1892-1974).
My photograph is so bad, sorry.

D. カフェ ビー / Cafe bee

このカフェがギャラリービー(Gallery B)の隣にあることは知っていましたが、入ったのは初めてでした。

鎌倉散策.6月2日 / Kamakura, 2nd June

お庭がきれいです。

鎌倉のカフェやレストランの場合、飲食物はなんとなく素人さが漂うかれど、ロケーションが良かったり、お庭がきれいだったりするところが多いように思います。

それは観光地だからというこかもしれません。

鎌倉散策.6月2日 / Kamakura, 2nd June

The garden is beautiful. 

Generally Kamakura's cafes or restaurants are not professional about food and drink, although their location or gardens are  wonderful.

This might be because here is a tourist area.

フルーツのチェスセット / Fruit Chess Set

お隣のお嬢さんの誕生日のために、Rが'フルーツのチェスセット'を作りました。

両親から彼女への誕生日はチェスセットと聞いたからです。

私は駒作りを手伝いました。

とても驚いていただき、喜んでもいただきました。

私達もとっても嬉しかった〜〜！

１列目左から、ルーク(パイナップル)、ナイト(パイナップル)、
ビショップ(洋梨)、クイーン(洋梨)、キング(洋梨)、
ビショップ、ナイト、ルーク
２列目はポーン(イチゴ)
星々(キウイ)は私が加えた装飾でしたが、
Rはお気に召しませんでした。

I added kiwi-stars as decoration, although R wouldn't add. 

R made 'Fruit Chess Set' for near-by daughter's birthday, because he heard the birthday present from her parents was a chessboard and a chess set.

I helped making chess pieces. 

She was really impressed and pleased. 

We were happy!

二階堂の新しい花
ギャラリーの庭に新しい木が植えられ、花が咲いています。

A gallery's garden planted a new tree and it has a flower. 

バス邸までの道で、お隣Nさんに偶然会い、鎌倉駅前駐車場まで送っていただいてしまいました。

そこからは、今日の目的の材木座にある'GAMAGAMA'に向けて歩きました。


Walking for Rehabilitation - 4th of November  

While we walked to the bus stop, we met a neighbour  Nsan who was driving and she gave us a lift to a car park which is close to Kamakura station.

Then we walked to 'GAMAGAMA'.

おしゃれな家だな〜と思いましたら、建築家の事務所でした。

I thought it was a stylish house, but it is the office of an architect.

2) GAMA GAMA

A. パン屋さん / Bakery 

GAMA GAMAはパン屋さん(ベーカリー): 窯GAMAで、以前は和歌山県の山中：('山GAMA')で営業していました。

英国に住んでいた時から、鎌倉のお店をネットで知っていました。

鎌倉に下調べをしに、2008年11月一時帰国した時、探しに来ましたが、お店は閉まっていましたし、近所の商店に聞いても、その存在すら知らないようでした。

鎌倉に住み始めて訪ねましたが、やはり、お店が閉まっている状態で、閉店したのかと思いました。

ある日、散歩していた時に、偶然お店が開いているのを見つけ、喜んだのもつかの間、売り切れ状態でした。

それでも、お店が閉店したわけでないのを知ったのは、私にとっては朗報でした。

まあ、それ以後も、我が家と窯GAMAの位置関係と私の足の状態のために訪れることが長くできませんでした。

本日は、Nさんに車で送ってもらえたおけかげで、お店の開店時間直後に着くことができ、ようやく、パンを買うことができました。

Bakery 

GAMA GAMA is a bakery, before their shop was in a mountain area in Wakayama prefecture ; south of Osaka.

When I lived in Britain, I found the bakery in Kamakura by Internet.

We came to Japan researching Kamakura accommodation in November 2008, and looked for this bakery.

We found here, although it was closed, so we asked a neighbouring shop who did not know the bakery.

After we started living in Kamakura, we visited here and again the bakery was closed, so we thought the bakery had left. 

One day we walked around here, and by chance, we found the bakery was open. 

For a very short time I felt glad, but their bread had sold out, so I was deflated.

However, at least I knew they still managed the bakery.

So it was good, although visiting again was difficult, because of the distance and condition of my legs. 

Today, N san gave us a lift, so we got to the bakery just as they opened and bought their bread.

B.力強い! 野生的！そして.....！
    Strong! Muscular! and .....!

お店HP:★を読みました。

1)営業は水、金、土、日、定休日が月、水、金と３日間。
   (これは自然発酵に時間がかかるだからとか)

2)イチオシは、このお店が試行錯誤の末に生み出した
    'ショコラカンパーニュ'。

3)二番目は、卵、牛乳を使用せず、旨味がある味の
   低温熟成の食パン
で、これは焼きてたてを更にトーストして店内で食べさせてくれます。

4)'ショコラカンパーニュ'は切り売りで量り売り。
    パンのこのような売り方を始めて経験しました。

5)ドイツ製オーヴンで焼いています。
    (山GAMAでは石窯を使用していました）

持ち帰りのパンは、いくつかの種類のパンを自分たち用とNさん用に同じだけ買いました。

お店で食べたバター付きトーストも、家で食べたパンも美味しかったです。

繊細に作られがちな日本のパンと違い、荒々しさが感じられ、野性的なパンです。

自己主張が強く、英国で食べたシナモンロール(下写真；❷Central London(17th.Jun.2010)-Nordic Bakery)を思い出しました。

毎日のパンとしては個性が強すぎますが、ときどき、
あ〜、あの味が食べたい！
と思うパンではないかと思います。

そうそう、毎日のパンとしては値段もきついです。(笑)

肝心のパンの写真を撮るのは忘れました！


Strong! Muscular! and .....!

I read the bakery's HP:★ in Japanese.

1) Open: Wed. Fri. Sat. San / Close: Mon. Tues. Thu.
　(Natural fermentation needs a long time.)

2) Their first recommendation is  'Chocolate Campagne' which they 
     developed through trial and error. 

3) Second recommendation is simple bread which does not use egg or
     milk, though the taste is deep, because it is made using low temperature maturation.

They serve it in their cafe,  just baked and toasted with lashings of hot butter.

4) They sell 'Chocolate Campagne' by weight. 
　My first experience of buying cut bread by weight. 

5) They use an oven made in Germany. 
     (When the bakery was in the mountains, 
      they used a masonry oven.）

As for the bread we took away, we bought some types for N san and us.

We enjoyed their bread in the cafe and in our house.  

Japanese bread is apt to be made delicately, although their bread is strong and muscular.

 Their self-assertion is strong which reminds me of the cinnamon roll which I ate in Britain : above photograph ;

I think GAMAGAMA's bread has too a strong personality for daily bread, however, sometimes I'm sure we will crave their bread. 

Oh! yes! Its cost is difficult for daily bread, too.(laugh)

3) 材木座海岸 / Zaimokuza Beach

海も、いいな〜と思う.....

I feel sea is goo~~d, too.....

I feel even though I always see kites,

夏の海辺では見なかった釣り船
I did not see a fishing boat on the beach in summer.

砂浜を見下ろすと、ついつい絵に良い構図を
探してしまいます。(笑)

I unconsciously look for a composition that might make a good picture when I look down at the sand.(laugh)

4) 寄り道 / Taking A Side Trip

住宅街の中の猫
この猫は、家も大きく、庭も広い敷地で眠っていました。
写真を撮ろうとしたら、起きてしまい、この顔をされました。
全然かわいらしくないところが、かわいい感じで、笑ってしまう！

When I tried to take a photograph of it,
 it woke up and showed us this face.
It is not completely lovely, so it is lovely and I laughed!
