食事後に、金沢菓子木型美術館へ行きました。
お店の詳細とランチについては前回のセクションです(下記)。
彼女も私もは美術館へ入るのは、初めてでした。

Morihachi Main Shop
The ground floor of Morihachi Main Shop is a normal shop, and on the first floor are "Morihachi-saryou" : "Morihachi Japanese Style Cafe" and Kanazawa Museum of Wooden Japanese Sweet Molds.
In the Cafe, they serve Kifune Special Bentō (limited to 25 servings per day) which comes from a restaurant, "Oryouri Kifune" which has won two Michelin stars.
S Chan, one of my friends who lives in Kanazawa, made a reservation for us and treated me.
About the detail of the Shop and our lunch are in previous section, below.
It was the first time for her and I to enter the Museum.

C. 木型のトンネル/ The Wooden Mold Tunnel
私が英国留学中に学んだのは、主に陶芸でした。
課題の中に、型を用いる石膏作りがありました。
木型を見つつ、陶芸の石膏型づくりを思い出しました。
陶芸の石膏型の技法は、食器だけでなく抽象作品制作にも幅を持たせると思いますし、今は、その手法が陶芸界の現代アートに頻繁に使用されているように思います。
ですが、私にはどうにもしっくりこず、いまだに手作りに固執しています。
それはともかく、ここの木型のデザインにしても数にしても、圧倒されます。

The Wooden Mold Tunnel
During my stay in England, I mainly studied pottery.
Among the tasks was making moulds using plaster.
While looking at the wooden moulds, I remembered making plaster moulds for ceramics.
I believe that the technique of plaster moulding in ceramics can be used not only for tableware but also for creating abstract works and also now, I think that method is frequently used in contemporary ceramic art.
However, it doesn't feel right to me, and I still stick to handmade.
Anyway, I am overwhelmed by the design and number of wooden moulds here.

この部屋に来て、歴史というのは、ファンタジーを感じさせると思いました。
Coming into this room, I thought, "Ah, history makes me feel fantasy".

想像していたよりもずっと面白く、楽しい時間を過ごしました。
個人の施設でありながら、すべてに英訳が添えられて、彼らの日本文化、伝統技術への誇りと、海外へ対しての文化の普及の姿勢を感じました。
ありがとうございました。
It was much more interesting than I imagined and I or we had a great time.
Despite being a private facility, English translations were attached to everything, and I felt their pride in Japanese culture and traditional techniques, as well as their stance on spreading their culture overseas.
