| 百万石通り(ヒャクマンゴクドオリ)は 金沢城公園と兼六園を1周しています。 森八本店は、橋場交差点と兼六園交差点の間にあります。 Yellow Line is Hyakumangoku Street. Hyakumangoku Street runs around Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenroku-en Garden. The centre is Kanazawa Castle Park. The Morihachi main shop is located between the Hashiba intersection (right upper 〇 ) and the Kenroku-en intersection (right bottom 〇). 1) 老舗のお菓子屋さん
Long-established Sweets Shop
金沢在住の友人、Sちゃんがランチの予約してくれたのは、老舗のお菓子屋さん、森八本店 (モリハチ ホンテン)でした。
私ははじめて、'日本三大銘菓' (ニホンサンダイメイカ) というものがあると知りました。
'日本三銘菓'の1つは、'長生殿 (チョウセイデン)' で、森八が加賀藩時代から作っています。

Long-established Sweets Shop
S Chan, one of my friends who lives in Kanazawa, made a reservation for our lunch in Morihachi Honten : Morihachi Main Shop, a long-established sweets shop.
For the first time, I found that there is something called 'Nihon San Meika : Japanese Three Famous Confections '.
One of Japanese Three Famous Confections' is called 'Choseiden', which Morihachi has been making since the days of the Kaga Domain.
The other two are 'Koshinoyuki' in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture and 'Yamakawa' in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture.
Actually, there is "Morihachi-saryou" : "Morihachi Japanese Style Cafe" and Kanazawa Museum of Wooden Japanese Sweet Molds on the first floor in Morihachi Main Shop.
In the Cafe, they serve Kifune Special Bentō (limited to 25 servings per day) from a restaurant, "Oryouri Kifune", which has won two Michelin stars, and S Chan made a reservation for the Bentō.
Sweets were not our lunch.

The shop was in danger of going out of business during the current owner's era, but it was successfully rebuilt and continues to this day. |

B. 金沢に電気を！/ Electricity to Kanazawa!
12代店主、森下 八左衛門（モリシタ ハチザエモン / 1861 - 1943) は、1895年に金沢電気株式会社を創業し、1900年には、金沢に電灯をもたらしました(2276灯)。
(創立者はほかにもいます)
八左衛門は、鉄道事業の創設や、土木会社の設立、社交クラブ'金谷館'、金沢市立音楽隊などを作り、私財を費やし、社会事業に貢献しました。
市経営は、うまくいかず、八左衛門らに事業は戻されました。
【蛇足】
蛇足ですが、長谷川 準也は、尾山神社 (オヤマジンジャ) のユニークな神門 (シンモン) を企画した人として、知られています。
尾身神社の神門については下記。
長谷川も金沢製糸を作ったり、殖産興業 (ショウサンコウギョウ) 、鉄道施設を始め、いろいろな事業を推進し、金沢に貢献しました。
でも今は、ユニークな神門の企画者として最も名前が知られているように感じます。
明治は西洋文化が日本へ入ってきて、八左衛門にしても、長谷川にしても、未来について模索、貢献したのだな〜とその奮闘を尊敬します。

Electricity to Kanazawa!
Hachizaemon Morishita (1861 - 1943), the 12th owner of the shop founded Kanazawa Denki Co., Ltd. in 1895, and in 1900 brought electric lights to Kanazawa (2276 lights).
(There were other founders.)
Hachizaemon founded a railway business, established a civil engineering company, founded the social club 'Kanayakan' and the Kanazawa Municipal Band.
Before the founding of Kanazawa Electric, Hachizaemon transferred the business to the city of Kanazawa to Junya Hasegawa, the second mayor of Kanazawa, who insisted that the electric utility was a public utility.
City management did not go well, and the business was returned to Hachizaemon and others.
[Sidenote]
On a side note, Junya Hasegawa is known as the person who designed the unique Shinmon gate of Oyama Shrine.
About the Shinmon gate of Oyama Shrine, below.
Hasegawa also contributed to Kanazawa by promoting various businesses, such as making Kanazawa Silk, promoting Shokusan Kogyo and and railroad facilities.
But now, I feel his name is best known as the creator of the unique Shinmon.
Western culture entered Japan in the Meiji era, and I respect Hachizaemon and Hasegawa for their efforts to explore and contribute to the future.
2) ランチ / Lunch
"御料理 貴船"は、予約が半年待ちもあるという金沢の人気店です。
そのお料理が、ここ森八茶寮で、 貴船特製弁当として食べることができます。
Lunch
Kifune Special Bentō is made by Seiichi Nakagawa (1968 ~), the owner and head chef of "Oryouri Kifune".
"Oryori Kifune" is a popular restaurant in Kanazawa that has a waiting list of half a year.
At Morihachi Saryo, we can enjoy this Kifune Special Bentō.

| お弁当箱 (左上) は、野点弁当 (ノダテベントウ)を 彷彿させます。 The bentō box (upper left) is reminiscent of the Nodate Bentō. Nodate is an open-air tea ceremony in which people make and enjoy green tea or powdered green tea. |

| 素敵〜! 献立をみつつ、どのお料理かを確認して食べました。 美味しさと美しさが共存するランチでした。 Lovely! It was a lunch where deliciousness and beauty coexisted. While looking at the menu, I checked which dish it was and ate it. |
ビールも飲みました。

| 庭 庭が見えます。 森八の庭かと思いましたが、Sちゃんが 寺島蔵人邸跡 (テラシマ クランド テイアト) の庭 と教えてくれました。 寺島蔵人邸跡 は一般公開しているので、 食事の後に行きました。 Garden I saw a garden. I thought it was the garden of Morihachi, but S Chan told me that it is the garden of The site of the House is open to the public, so we visited there after lunch. |
庭や三段のお弁当箱などの演出が、一層お料理を美味しく感じさせます。
心も体も喜ぶランチです。
The garden and the three-tiered lunch box make the food even more delicious.
This lunch was great joy for my body and soul.

| 茶室・'楽庵' 2階には、'茶室・楽庵' があります。 Tea Ceremony Room・'Rakuan' On the first floor, there is Tea Ceremony Room ・'Rakuan'.  どのような時に使用されるのかは、 私のリサーチ力ではわかりませんでした。 森八企画のお茶会があるのでしょうか？ With my research ability, I didn't find when it would be used. Will there be a tea party planned by Morihachi?  |
同じ階に、金沢菓子木型美術館があるので、見に行くことににしました。
それは、次のセクションに載せます。

There is the Kanazawa Museum of Wooden Japanese Sweet Molds on the same floor, so we decided to go and see it.
