1) 銀行から文化館へ / From Bank to Museum
金沢在住の友人、Sちゃんに案内されながら、金沢駅方面に歩いていました。
もう、計画していた特別なものはありませんでした。
ふらふら歩いていて、町民文化会館の看板と建物に、目が止まり、入ってみました。

From Bank to Museum
I was walking in the direction of Kanazawa Station, guided by
S Chan, one of my friends who lives in Kanazawa.
There were no more specials planned.
As we were walking around, my eyes stopped at the Chomin Bunkakan Museum signboard and building, and we entered.

| Kanazawa Savings Bank In 1907, it was built as the Kanazawa Savings Bank in Owari-cho, the former economic centre of the castle town. State of the world at the time of construction in Japan (Sorry I do not translate all) The bank was founded after the Russo-Japanese War (1904 -05). Citizens were heavily taxed. Economic depression hit Japan in 1907. |

3) 鏝絵 / Kote-e : Trowel Picture

| 鏝絵 作：竹内 源造 (タケウチゲンゾウ / 1886 - 1942) 下記、Wikiより "こて絵 (こてえ、鏝絵) とは、日本で発展した漆喰を 用いて作られるレリーフのことである。 左官職人がこて (左官ごて) で 仕上げていくことから名がついた。" (展示写真から) Trowel Picture : Kote-e By Genzo Takeuchi (1886 - 1942) According to Japanese Wiki about Kote-e, (Translated by me) "Kote-e" : Trowel Picture is a relief made using plaster developed in Japan. A plasterer used a trowel : Kote, to make it, hence the name Kote." |
私は、'鏝絵' を初めて知りました。
竹内源造記念館のサイトでは、
"鏝絵（こてえ）は、漆喰を使って作る浮き彫り細工です。
漆喰は、石灰（せっかい）、牡蠣殻（かきがら）の灰、砂、ふのり（海藻の一種）を混ぜ、麻やワラを臼でついた「すさ」を練り込み粘土状にしたものです。"

I found out about trowel painting for the first time.
On the website of the Genzo Takeuchi Memorial Museum,
(translated by me)
"Kote-e is a relief carving made with plaster.
Plaster is made by mixing lime, oyster shell ash, sand, and funori (a type of seaweed), and then kneading "Susa" made by mortaring hemp and straw into a clay-like texture. "

頭取室の真下の地下に金庫があります。
There is a safe in the basement just below the president's office.
6) アカンサス装飾 / Acanthus Decoration

| アカンサス装飾 私はアカンサスとアカンサスを使用した装飾に興味があります。 鎌倉の庭にアカンサスがありますが、 一度しか花が咲いたところを見たことがありません。 山中でも咲くのになぜ、ここでは咲いてくれないのかと 毎年悲しい気持ちになります。 それで、アカンサスの植物を見ても、装飾を見ても、 目が、気がいってしまうのです。 Acanthus Decoration I am interested in acanthus and decorating with acanthus. I have an acanthus in my garden in Kamakura, but I have only seen it bloom once. Even though they bloom in the mountains, why doesn't ours bloom here, I feel sad every year. That's why, when I look at an acanthus plant or decorations, my eye or my interest is drawn towards them.  |
7) 赤煉瓦の倉庫 / Red Brick Warehouse

8) 地下の金庫 / Underground Vault

| こんな金庫、映画やドラマでしか見たことがありませんでした。 ちょっと感動！ Wow ~~~! Vault! I had only ever seen such a vault in films and dramas. Quite impressed! |

The underground part had been closed to the public due to aging, but Ishikawa Prefecture renovated it in 2011-2012 and opened it to the public. The vault is approximately 17 square metres in size and the metal door is 40 cm thick. |
この町民文化館は、計画にはなく、ふらりと入りました。
ですが、とっても、とっても、素晴らしかったです。
夫Rも好きだろうな〜と思います。
機会があったら、彼をここに連れてきたいと思います。

This Museum was not in our plan, and we entered it casually.

9) いよいよお別れ / At Last, Good-bye
金沢駅で、新幹線に乗るまでの時間、麩のお店 : 不室屋 (フムロヤ) が経営している茶店で、抹茶ラテ を飲みました。
で、私たちは気がついたのです。
1枚も一緒の写真を撮っていなかったことに！
お店のスタッフの方にお願いして、写真を撮りました。
撮っていないことに気がついてよかったです。ほっ！
Sちゃん、今回は、本当にお世話になりました。
いろいろ素敵な場所を紹介してくださり、すばらしいランチもご馳走してくださり、ありがとうございました。
金沢で、豊かな時間をすごすことができました。
また、来ますね。
本当にありがと〜〜〜！

At Last, Good-bye
At Kanazawa Station, before boarding the Shinkansen, we had a cup of Matcha-latte in a tea shop run by Fumuroya : a Fu, or wheat flour gluten shop.
(Fu is a traditional Japanese food with a 700 year history.)
Suddenly we realized that we hadn't taken even a single picture of us together.
We asked the shop staff to take a picture.
I'm glad we noticed that we didn't have our photograph.
S Chan, thank you very much for your help this time.
Thank you for introducing me to various wonderful places and for treating me to a wonderful lunch.
I was able to spend a rich time in Kanazawa.
I'll come again.

10) 帰宅 / Returning Home

| 中秋の名月 月明かりが感じられ、見上げると満月のようでした。 後に、この晩は、'中秋の名月'だとわかりました。 ニコンのカメラでなく、i-phoneで撮影しました。 Harvest Moon I could feel the moonlight, and when I looked up, it was like a full moon. Later I found out that this night is the 'Harvest Moon'. Taken with my i-phone, not a Nikon camera. |
いつものように、出来事をブログにアップするのが非常に遅れています。
2泊3日の金沢旅行は、38セクションにもあり、自分でも驚きです。
金沢にはたくさんの魅力的なもの、興味をひくものがあるということだと思います。
今回は、Rがいなかった分、Sちゃんとの時間もかなりありました。
地元民の彼女のおかげで、より充実した旅になりました。
楽しかった〜〜！

Returning Home
As usual, I'm very late in posting events on my blog.
The 3 days and 2 nights trip to Kanazawa has 38 sections, which surprises even me.
I think that Kanazawa has many attractive and interesting things.
This time, since R wasn't there, I had a lot of time with S Chan.
Thanks to the local friend, it was a more fulfilling trip.
It was fun~~!

I would like to go again someday.
