私と夫Rは、腰越の 'Art & Dining Spaceたぶのき' で開催されている絵本原画展が目的で外出しました。
仏舎利塔 (ブッシャリトウ)、七面堂 (シメンドウ) などがあります。
このセクションは、主に五重塔についてです。

Ryūkō-ji Temple
I and my husband R went out for the purpose of the picture book original painting exhibition held in 'Art & Dining Space Tabunoki' in Koshigoe, Kamakura, Kanagawa prefecture.
In the precincts, there are the Tatsunokuchi execution site, main hall, Japanese Five-storied Pagoda, stupa, Shichimen-do Hall, etc.
This section is primarily about five-storied pagoda.

2) 五重塔 / Japanese Five-storied Pagoda
下記、龍口寺の案内書より
"五重塔は、明治43年 (1910)、
棟梁 竹中藤右衛門 (トウリョウ タケナカ トウエモン/ 1877 - 1965) が建てたといわれ、総けやき造りで、釘一本も使わない組み込み式である。
神奈川県唯一の本式五重塔で本堂とともに「神奈川県建築物百選」に選定されている。
この塔は日蓮の法難をしのび、報恩供養のために建てられたもので、塔内には仏祖三宝尊が安置されている。"
彼の時代に、東京タワー (1958) を施工 (セコウ) しています。
今まで気がつきませんでしたが、東京タワーと五重塔は、'塔' という共通点だけでなく、ほかにも何か共通している感じがします。

Japanese Five-storied Pagoda
According to the guidebook of Ryūkō-ji Temple, (translated by me)
"The five-storied pagoda is said to have been built in 1910 by the master carpenter Takenaka Touemon (1877 - 1965) .
It is made entirely of zelkova and is built-in without the use of even a single nail.
It is the only five-storied pagoda in Kanagawa Prefecture, and has been selected as one of the 100 Best Buildings in Kanagawa Prefecture along with the main hall.
This pagoda was built to commemorate Nichiren's persecution and to offer retribution, and within the pagoda are enshrined the Three Treasures of the Buddha. "
Toemon Takenaka. : ★ was the founder of Takenaka Corporation. (Founded in 1899)
During his time, he constructed the Tokyo Tower (1958).
I didn't realize it until now, but I feel that Tokyo Tower and the five-storied pagoda have something in common besides being a 'tower'.

"Carvings by a sculptor, Ichigen Yasunobu of the Ichigen school (Horikawa Fujisawa).

| おしゃれな感じがする五重塔です。 I feel this is a stylish five-storied pagoda.  お寺の敷地外からこの五重塔は見えません。 少なくとも私は見える場所を知りません。 The pagoda cannot be seen from outside the temple grounds. At least I don't know where to look from. |

"釈迦が亡くなった時、その遺体は火葬され、その遺灰は8つに分散されました。
その当時、インドで主流の8部族に渡されました。
8つの部族は塔を建立し、それぞれに頂いた遺灰をその中に安置してお祀りしました。
この塔のことを古代インドの言葉である梵語(サンスクリット語)でストゥーパと言います。
このストゥーパが、五重塔の起源であり、法要で供養する卒塔婆(板塔婆)の語源です。
五重塔は、この世と、また、私たち人間を形づくっている5つの要素である''地"、"水"、"火"、"風"、"空"の五代を意味します。"

"When Buddha died, his body was cremated and his ashes were dispersed into eight parts.
At that time, it passed to the eight dominant tribes in India.
The eight tribes built each pagoda and enshrined the ashes they had received in it.
This tower is called Stupa in Sanskrit, a classical language of India.
This stupa is the origin of the five-storied pagoda and the origin of the sotoba : wooden stupa that is held at the memorial service.
The five-storied pagoda represents the five dynasties of 'earth', 'water', 'fire', 'wind', and 'sky', which are the five elements that make up this world and human beings."
According to Japanese Wiki about stoba,(translated by me)
"A stupa (sotoba) is a plain wooden board standing next to a grave on which Sanskrit characters, Mantora, Dhamma name, posthumous names, secular names are written for memorial services."

いろいろな角度から撮影を試みますが、 なかなか良い構図になりません。 私のi-phoneのカメラでは、五重塔の全体像を1枚の写真に 収め切れませんでした。 前回、このお寺に来た時も、五重塔が最も印象に残りましたが、 今回も、建物の中では、これが一番好きだな〜 と思いました。 I try to photograph from various angles, but I can't get a good composition. My i-phone camera couldn't capture the entire five-storied pagoda in one photo. Last time I came to this temple, the five-storied pagoda left the biggest impression on me, and this time, I think this is my favorite of all the buildings. |
3) 山を下る / Go Down the Mountain

五重塔を離れ、龍口山を降りてゆきます。 途中、本堂の屋根の向こうに、相模の海が見え、心惹かれます。 海が見えると感動するのはなぜでしょうか？ Leaving the five-storied pagoda, descend Mt.Ryūkō. On the way, beyond the roof of the main hall, I can see the sea of Sagami, and I am fascinated. Why is it that we are impressed when we see the sea?  |

龍口寺で五重塔の次に好きな建物は大書院です。
りっぱな建物だな〜と眺めます。
Next to the five-storied pagoda, my favourite building in Ryūkō-ji Temple is the Daishoin.
While I look at this I feel it's a splendid building.

| 境内の南東に建っています。 私たちは仁王門からお寺に入り、大書院の前を通って、 お寺を出ます。 龍口寺にくるときは、お寺の東につぎの目的地があるからです。 This is built in the southeast of the precincts. We entered the temple through the Niōmon Gate, pass in front of the Daishoin, and exit the temple. Because when we come to Ryūkō-ji Temple, there is our next destination to the east of the temple. |
