1) 春のつむじ風 / Spring Whirlwind
すでにブログには何度も書いていますが、夫Rはフルーツサラダ作りが得意です。
彼はフルーツが好きだから作っているのですが、彼にとってフルーツサラダは創作の1つなのではないかと思います。
フルーツサラダは、必ず二人で一緒に食べます。
別々に食事をすることが多い私達にとって、同じ場所で同じものを食し、サラダ、フルーツ、近況について語り合うことは貴重であり、楽しいことでもあります。
サラダのタイトルは私が名付けることが多いです。
時々Rが作っている時から決めているときもあります。

Spring Whirlwind
As I have already written on my blog many times, my husband R is good at making fruit salad.
He makes it because he likes fruit and I think fruit salad is one of his creations.
Fruit salad is always eaten by two us together.
For us, who often eat separately, eating the same thing in the same place and talking about salads, fruits and what's happening is valuable and fun.
The titles of the salads are often named by me.
Sometimes he decides on a name while he is making it.
2) カタリナの車輪 / Catherine Wheel

スタジオからキッチンへ行くと彼がフルーツサラダを作っていました。
「今日は、タイトルが決まっているんだ。
"Catherine Wheel" だよ」
と自信満々に (？)、嬉しそうに言いました。
「"Catherine Wheel"?」
私は聞いたことがない名前(もの)でした。
「花火だよ！」
と、彼は教えてくれました。
それでも私は、"Catherine Wheel" が思いつきませんでした。
フルーツサラダを食べる際に、二人で "Catherine Wheel" について話しました。
一般的な翻訳では、日本語では、'ねずみ花火' でした。
'ねずみ花火' と"Catherine Wheel" は、'点火してくるくる回る花火' です。
ですが、私にとって、明らかに彼のフルーツサラダは、'ねずみ花火'
から遠いイメージでした。
「似ているけれど、違う！」
とムッとした表情。
"Catherine Wheel" の動画を探して、二人で見ました。
「そう！これだよ→★」
私は、その花火と今日のフルーツサラダを関連づけることができました。
次に、何故、カタリナ: Catherine かという疑問が湧きました。

'Nezumi Hanabi' and 'Catherine Wheel' are 'igniting and round and round spinning fireworks'.
But to me, his fruit salad was clearly an image far from 'Nezumi Hanabi' .
Also, when I showed him a video of 'Nezumi Hanabi': ★, he said
"Similar but different!"
he was in a huff and displayed his displeasure.
I searched for a video of "Catherine Wheel" and watched it together.
"Yes! This is →★"
I was able to relate the fireworks to today's fruit salad.
Then I was wondering why Catherine.
B. アレキサンドリアのカタリナ
Catherine of Alexandria
"カタリナの車輪" / "Catherine Wheel" のカタリナは、アレクサンドリアの聖カタリナ(287 - 305) に由来します。
彼女は、"十四救難聖人" (ジュウヨン・キュウナン・セイジン) の一人です。
ということは、殉教しているわけで、車輪はその殉教に関わっています。

花火の"カタリナの車輪"の由来を知ってしまうと、素直に花火は楽しめなくなります。
人々が楽しむ花火に誰がこんな残酷な由来の名前をつけたのかと憤慨する気持ちが起きました。
ですが、いつまでも彼女を忘れないようにという思いと、平和な世の中は犠牲者の上に成り立っているという戒めの思いもあるのかなと推測します。
また、クリスチャンでない私にはその感覚はわかりませんが、楽しみのに殉教者の名前を取り入れることで、崇拝の気持ちを持つのかもしれません。
Rはこの由来を知りませんでした。
彼は二度と、フルーツサラダに"カタリナの車輪" の名前はつけないと思います。
由来には関係なく、彼のフルーツサラダ："カタリナの車輪" は、明るく楽しいイメージで、なおかつ、美味しかったです。

Catherine of Alexandria
The Catherine of "Catherine Wheel" comes from
St. Catherine of Alexandria (287 - 305).
She is one of the "Fourteen Holy Helpers".
Once I know the origin of the "Catalina Wheels" of fireworks, I will not be able to enjoy fireworks freely.
I was indignant at who gave the name of such a cruel origin to the fireworks that people enjoy.
However, I presume that there is a desire to remember her forever and a commandment that a peaceful world is built on the victims.
Also, as a non-Christian, I don't know that feeling, but by incorporating the name of the martyr with fun, they may have a feeling of worship.
R did not know the origin of this.
I don't think he will ever name his fruit salad "Catherine Wheel".
Regardless of the origin, his fruit salad: "Catherine Wheel" was a bright and fun image, furthermore it was delicious.
