A. 'いちにち' の始まり 

     The Beginning of 'A Day'

朝、空を見上げ、心が天へ惹きつけられる時があります。

音楽でいうところの '序曲'、小説の書き出し部分などに、惹きつけられるようなものでしょうか？

その日、'いちにち' の始まり....。

午前6時頃の空
うわ〜っと心の声をあげました。

Wow, my heart' lifted. 

さあ、太陽がやってくるぞ〜！
Here! The Sun is Coming!

The Beginning of 'A Day'

There are times when I look up at the sky in the morning and my heart is drawn to the heavens.

Is it something that attracts you in the 'overture' in music, the opening sentences of a novel, etc.?

On this day, the beginning of 'A Day' ....

神々しい雲 / Divine Clouds

その日の息が吹き込まれます。
The breath of the day is breathed in.

B. 空と海と島と... 

　 The Sky, The Sea, and The Island ...

天気によって伊豆大島が見えるときがあります。

家からの風景で大きく関心を持つのが

「今日は島が見える？見えない？」

ということです。

島が見えようが見えまいが具体的に生活に関わるわけではありません。

ですが、見えるとちょっと嬉しい！

The Sky, The Sea, and The Island ...

Depending on the weather, Izu Ōshima Island may be visible.

I am very interested in the scenery from our house, this is 

"Can I see the island today? Can't I see it?".

Whether I can see the island or not, it does not specifically affect my life.

But I'm a little happy to see it!

富士山に雲が掛かるように島に雲が掛かることが
多いように感じます。

I feel that clouds often hang on the Island,
 just like Mt. Fuji.

2) 白い花達 / White Flowers 

A. 朝露と共に / With Morning Dew

私は白い花が好きです。

庭の花を撮影した時には気がつきませんでしたが、今日の花は全て

白い花でした。

百合も生姜の花も自分で植えたわけではありません。

偶然に感じます...まあ、撮影する気になるのは、白い花だから、好きだから、偶然ではないのかもしれませんね。

朝露と共に美しい...
With Morning Dew are Beautiful ...

With Morning Dew 

I like white flowers.

I didn't notice it when I photographed the flowers in our garden, but today's flowers were all white.

I didn't plant the lily or ginger flowers myself.

It feels like a coincidence ... Well, maybe I felt like photographing, because they are white, because I like them,  so maybe it's not a coincidence.

タマスダレ
私は早朝に撮影しているので、花びらが閉じぎみです。
昼には花が平らになる程、開きます。

 White Windflower
I photographed in the early morning,
so the petals were partly closed.
In the daytime, the flatter the flowers, the more they open.

ほんのりと紫がかっているのが上品です。
現在、2カ所で咲いています。

It is elegant in that it has a slight purple tinge.
Currently, they are blooming in two places.

B.エキゾチック・リリー / Exotic Lily

生姜の花、エキゾチック・リリー 
 Ginger Flower, Exotic Lily
食用の生姜とは違います。
外見も香りも '生姜'のイメージとかけ離れている花です。
初めて見た時はなんの花かわからず、
生姜の花と知った時には驚きました。
インド・東南アジア・マダガスカルに自生し、
日本には江戸時代 (1603 - 1867) に渡来しました。
高い香りが好まれ、香水の材料にもなっています。

生姜の花、エキゾチック・リリー 
 Ginger Flower, Exotic Lily

It's not like edible ginger.

It is a flower that looks and smells far from the image of 'Ginger'.

When I first saw it, I didn't know what kind of flower it was,

 and when I found out that it was a ginger flower,
 I was surprised.

It grows naturally in India, Southeast Asia, and Madagascar, 

and came to Japan during Edo Period (1603 - 1867).

It has a high scent and is also used as a perfume ingredient.

ジンジャー・リリー
和名はシュクシャまたはハナシュクシャ
英語ではジンジャー・リリーと言います。
他にも呼び方はありますが、私はこの名前が好きです。
'エキゾチック・リリー' は、私が名付けたニックネームです。

Ginger Lily
It is called Ginger Lily (Hedychium).
There are other names,Garland Flower and Kahili Ginger,
 but I like this name.
'Exotic Lily' is the nickname I gave it.

C. 白い百合 / White Lily

テッポウユリ
百合はたくさんの種類があります。
我が家の百合はテッポウユリ (鉄砲百合) だと思われます。
和名は、その形からテッポウユリです。
英名は、マドンナ・リリー : 聖母マリアのユリです。
受胎告知時に大天使ガブリエルが持っていた百合が
この種類であるとされ、多くの宗教画に描かれています。
別名、イースター・リリー、こちらは復活のイメージですね。
正確にはイースター・リリーとマドンナ・リリーは違う百合ですが
同一視されています。(同じニックネームを持つ百合？）

Madonna Lily

There are many types of lilies.

Lilies in our garden seem to be Madonna Lily.

The Japanese name is Teppō-yuri ; Gun Lily

 because of its shape.

English name is Madonna Lily ; Virgin Mary Lily

which comes from the Annunciation.

The lily that Archangel Gabriel had at the time of

 the Annunciation is said to be of this type, 

and is depicted in many religious paintings.

Another name is also known as Easter Lily.

To be precise, Easter Lily and Madonna Lily are different lilies,

 but they are equated. 

(They have the same nickname?)

朝露が清らかさを強調します。

Morning dew emphasizes cleanliness.

夕方の光の中で
神々しい感じが、'テッポウユリ' よりも、
'マドンナ・リリー' の名がふさわしく感じます。

In the Evening Light
The divine feeling makes the name 'Madonna Lily'
more appropriate than 'Teppou-yuri'.

意図したわけではないけれど、今日は白い何かに興味を持つ日でした。

そして白は、生と死、始まりと終わりの両方が感じられる不思議な色に思えました。

I didn't intend it, but today was a day when I was interested in things white.

And white seemed a mysterious colour where I could feel both life and death, both beginning and end.
