❶セントラル ロンドン / Central London - 10th of August

セントラル ロンドンに出るのは、この英国旅行で2回めになります。

一度めは7月にテート•ブリテインへ、今回はテート•モダンです。

I went to Central London for the second time this summer.

The first time was for Tate Britain and this time was for Tate Modern.

往路は地下鉄ロンドン•ブリッジ駅から歩いて行きました。 
I walked there from London Bridge Station Underground.

'バラマーケット/ Borough Market'
世界中から、食べ物いっぱい！人もいっぱい！
噂に聞く'バラマーケット/ Borough Market'です。
土曜日ということもあるのでしょうけれど、
平日でも結構混んでいるような気がします。
今日は素通り、いつかまた！

Here is well known as 'Borough Market'.
Many Foods ! Many People!
From all Over the World!
Today is Saturday,
though I guess even weekdays are crowded.
Today we only passed by, we will visit another day!

久しぶりにここに来ました〜〜！
船はガレオン船 ;ゴールデン・ハインド号のレプリカです。
英国内に複数のレプリカが存在します。
ゴールデン・ハインド号の船長は
1588年無敵艦隊をやぶった
フランス•ドレーク(1543頃 ~ 1596)です！

英国は、戦争に勝ったときの記念のモニュメントが
すごく多いように思います。

I hadn't been here for a long time!
The ship is a replica of the Galleon ; Golden Hind.
There are a few different replicas in Britain.
The captain was Sir Frances Drake (c.1540 ~ 1596)
who defeated the Spanish Armada in 1588.

I feel in Britain,  there are very many commemorative monuments 
when they were winners.

ウィンチェスター宮殿 / Winchester Palace
イングリッシュ• へリテッジが管理。
中世において、この建物はロンドンで最も大きく重要な建物の
ひとつであり、ウィンチェスター司教の力を示していました。
写真は大ホールの窓と外壁(下の案内板参照)。

Winchester Palace
English Heritage manages here.
In medieval time, it showed the Winchester Bishop's power.
This shows a window of the great hall, and the wall.

グローブ座　/ Shakespeare's Globe
実際のグローヴ座 / Globe Theatreは、ここから
200メートルほど離れたところに建っていました。
この建物は、1997年に復元されました。
テイト•モダンはこの並びに建っています。

Shakespeare's Globe
Globe Theatre was built  200m from the Original Shakespeare's Globe.
This building was built in 1997.
Tate Modern is next to here.

もとは発電所であったところが、
今はテート•モダンです。

It used to be a power station,
now it is Tate Modern.

さあ、やっとお目立てのテート•モダンです！

Here, finally my purpose, I would go to Tate Modern!
