日帰り箱根旅行- 2013年11月20日 / Hakone Trip - 20th of November, 2013

'クラブツーリズム'の箱根の日帰りバスツアーに参加しました。

Rが箱根に行ったことがなかったこと、紅葉が好きなこと、乗り物が好きなこと、富士山が好きなことなどから、これらが含まれているこのツアーを選びました。

運転から解放され、高い座席から眺められるので、Rはバスツアーがお気に入りです。

We joined a one day tour to Hakone by ' Club Tourism '.

The reasons were that R hadn't been to Hakone, likes autumn colours, vehicles and Mt.Fuji.

The tour included these, so I chose this one.

He is freed from driving and can look at views from a high seat, so a coach tour is his favourite.

芦ノ湖遊覧船 / Lake Ashi Sightseeing Boat

海賊船で桃源台港(トウゲンダイコウ）に到着後
ロープウエイに乗りかえ、大涌谷駅まで行きます。

The ship arrived at Tougendai-ko, we changed to a Ropeway
and got to "Owakudani Station".

富士山が近〜い！

富士山の上に、ぽっかり浮かぶ雲がちょっとおかしく感じるのは私だけ？

Do only I feel it is a little funny for a cloud to be floating on Mt, Fuji?

何か荷物を運んでいるらしいミニロープウエイ？がかわいい。
The mini ropeway seemed to carry something, it is lovely.

"地獄谷"と呼ばれていたのがわかる〜！

[大涌谷は二回の過程を経て形成された。
約3100年前、箱根火山で水蒸気爆発による山崩れが発生し、堆積物が貯まった。
さらに約2900年前に小規模な火砕流が発生、冠ヶ岳ができ、
また火山砕屑物が積もった。
この火山砕屑物と山崩れによる堆積物の間が現在の大涌谷となっている。
かつて「地獄谷」と呼ばれていたが、明治天皇・皇后の行幸啓に際し、1876年（明治9年）9月5日に改称された。]

I understand it was calked "Jigoku-tani: Hell Valley" here.
It was changed to Ōwakudani when Emperor Meiji visited in 1876.

This reminds me of a scene from the film : The Lord of the Rings.

今度は早雲山駅でケーブルカー (鋼索鉄道 / 箱根登山鉄道線) に乗りかえ、
箱根湯本駅まで行きます。

Next, we changed to a cable car : a funicular ( Hakone Tozan Line ) at
Sounzan Station to Hakone - Yumoto Station.

強羅駅 (ゴウラエキ）でがケーブルカーから登山鉄道に乗り換えます。
勾配が50％以上の鉄道は登山鉄道と呼ぶようです。

At Goura Station, we changed from the cable car
to Tozan tetsudou: Mountain railway.
A train which has over 50% gradient is called a Mountain railway in Japan.

登山電車で通学しているのですね〜。
あみさげや制服などが『げんきなマドレーヌ』
の世界を思い起こさせます。

The girls go to their school by Mountain railway , don't they?
Their plaits and uniforms remind me of the world of "Madeline".

We just looked there from here.

ここから観光バスで横浜まで帰りました。

We returned to Yokohama by coach.

ミミロータス / mimi Lotus - 2013年11月11日 / 11th of November, 2013

ミミロータス / mimi Lotus は、ときどき出かける鎌倉の紅茶専門店です。

Rが嫌いな材料が入っていないカレースープがあるので、彼は大のお気に入りです。

We sometimes go to a "Tea Room : mimi Lotus" in Kamakura.

Their curry soup does not have ingredients which R hates, so here is his favourite.

Their display consists of things looking home-made.

　ミルクは有料

ここは、紅茶はミルクなしでサービスされます。

私達はいつも、小さなピッチャーに入ったミルクを

100円でつけてもらっています。

So we ask for a small jug of milk, 100 yen.

Rのお気に入りのカレースープ
カボチャのスコーンとミニサラダが付いています。
このサラダはほんとーにミニ！(笑)

R's favourite Curry Soup
It is with a piece of pumpkin scone and a mini salad.
This mini salad is very tiny~! (laugh)

私は今日はハーヴ入りチキンホットサンドとワッフルセット
甘いワッフルは、Rへ。

Today, I had a set : chicken with some herbs and a sweet waffle.
I gave R the waffle.

鎌倉散策 ; 大桜 - 11月8日 / Walking in Kamakura ; Large Cherry Tree - 8th of November, 2013

鎌倉山散策

Walking in Kamakurayama

目的はいつも気になっていた写真のはしごをのぼって入ってゆく領域です。
はしごは、鎌倉山から七里ケ浜住宅地へ降りてゆく階段の前にあります。
この中に、樹齢200~250年と言われ大桜があることを
以前入り口近くの地図で知りました。
このシーズンでは桜の花は見られないでしょうけれど、
場所確認含め、ちょっとした探検気分で出かけました。

My purpose was to explore this wood and find the large cherry tree
which they say it is 200 to 250 years old.
The ladder in the photograph is at the top of the wood above the steps down from
Kamakurayama to Shichirigahama Residential District.
I know it is not cherry season but I would know where it is.

我が家の真ん前の道路脇の花
The flower is beside the road just in front of our house.

英国に居た留守の間にきれいになっていたご近所の家
While I stayed in Britain, the nearby house became beautiful.

花がないシーズンの中、かわいいピンクで嬉しくなります。
While the season does not have so many flowers,
I became glad by this lovely pink.

ここを通るたびに見てしまいます...
I can not stop looking at this every time I pass here...

えっ！と思いつつ、きれいだと思う....
Oh! No! but I feel it is beautiful....

ここ⑧がはしごの場所です。
近くでも山中なので、一人では行けず、
Rと一緒です。

Here: ⑧ is the place of the ladder.
Here is close to our house,
though it is a mountain, so I could not go in alone,
today I was with R.

森の中に居るように感じます。
I feel I am in a forest.

大桜
桜の時期はさぞやきれいでしょう...
ですが、幹部分が養生されているのを見るとやはりお年なようで、
本当に咲くのかな〜と疑問も感じました。
花は咲いていなくても、枝振りは立派です。

I guess if it blossoms, it would be wonderful...
However, the bottom of the trunk is protected, certainly it is old,
so I wonder if it will blossom?
Even though it does not have flowers,
the shapes of the branches are gorgeous.

住宅街をちょっと歩いて、鎌倉山に戻りました。

We walked a little in the residential area and back to Kamakurayama.

ひよどり
あまり良いイメージをもたれていない印象があります。
私もなんとなく好意を持てない....

Hiyodori: Brown-eared bulbul
My impression is that people do not have a good image about them.
Somehow I too could not have friendly feelings.

コンクリートの壁になりがちなここを
緑を上手にデザインしていて素敵です。

Often here would be a concrete wall,
although here, the design has so much greenery, it is lovely!

彼はこの他にもアンティックカーを持っています。

絵本に出てくるような車ばかりで、見かけるだけでも楽しい気分になります。

Sometimes I have seen this antique car.

He has other antique cars.

The cars seem to be in children picture books,

so just to catch sight of the cars excites me.
