旧中村邸見学を終えたのは、11時半頃でした。

金沢在住のSちゃんとの待ち合わせは、午後1時でした。

石川県立美術館 : ★へ行くことにしました。

旧中村邸のそばに、'加賀八家 (カガハッカ) の本多家屋敷跡'についての説明版が設置されていましす。

加賀八家は、加賀藩重臣の門閥、八家で、本多家はこの1つでした。

この周辺は、本多の森公園 (本多公園) で、加賀藩期の本多家の武家屋敷がたくさんあった場所です。

なので、ここだけでなく、公園内には、本多家や加賀八家についての説明板が設置されています。

加賀八家 : Kagahakke ; 

Eight Chief Retainer Families of Kaga Domain 

本多家（5万石）筆頭家老

長家（穴水城主3万3000石）

横山家（富山城代3万石・国家老)

前田対馬守家（越中守山城代1万8000石・藩主一門）

奥村宗家（末森城代1万7000石）

村井家（松根城代1万6500石余）

奥村分家（1万2000石・留守居役）

前田土佐守家（小松城代1万1000石・藩主一門）

本多家は、加賀藩内で最も禄高は高く、全国の大名の家臣の中でも最禄高でした。

本多家の裕福さがわかると同時に、加賀藩の裕福さ、'加賀百万石' がわかります。

Explanation Board 

It was around 11:30 when I finished visiting the Former Nakamura House.

The meeting with S Chan, who lives in Kanazawa, was at 1:00 pm.

I decided to go to Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art  ★.

Next to the Former Nakamura House, there is an explanatory board about the 'Honda Clan ruins of the Kagahakka'.

The Kagahakka referred to the eight chief retainer families of the Kaga Domain : Kanazawa Domain, and the Honda Clan was one of them.

This area is Honda no Mori Park (Honda Park), where there were many samurai residence of the chief retainer, Honda Clan.

So, not only here, there are explanations in the park about the Honda Clan and Kaga hakka.

The Honda family received the highest stipend in the Kaga Domain, and the highest stipend among the vassals of the Daimyo : feudal lord in Japan.

At the same time as knowing the wealth of the Honda family, I can also see the wealth of the Kaga Domain.

Indeed, it was called 'Kaga Hyakumangoku' : the Kaga Domain had an assessed kokudaka of over one million koku, making it by far the largest domain of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Kokudaka refers to a system for determining land value for taxation purposes under the Tokugawa shogunate of Edo-period Japan, and expressing this value in terms of koku : : quantity of rice.

The status of a Daimyo was determined by the amount of rice that could be harvested in his domain.

'旧中村家'の傍から本多の森公園 (本多公園) の斜面に続く道は、

"歴史の小径"と"美術の小径"があります。

1つの登り道が途中から、"歴史の小径"と"美術の小径"に分かれています。

どちらから、登るか迷い、私は、"歴史の小径"を選びました。

"歴史の小径"と呼ばれる登り道は、本多氏の上屋敷へと繋がっていました。

上屋敷の敷地は1万坪を超える、広いものでした。

(東京ドームの3倍弱?）

現在、上屋敷跡地には、石川県立美術館があります。

From the side of the 'Former Nakamura House' to the slopes of Honda Park, there are the "History Path : Reikishi-no-Komichi" and the "Art Path : Bijyutsu-no-Komichi".

One climbing path is divided into "History Path" and "Art Path" from the middle.

I wasn't sure which one to climb, so I chose the "History Path".

The uphill path called "History Path", which was originally connected to Honda Clan Mansion : Kamiyashiki.

"History Path" led to Honda's Mansion : Kamiyashiki.

The grounds of the mansion were large, exceeding 10,000 tsubo.

(A little less than three times the size of Tokyo Dome?)

Today, the Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art is located on the site of the Mansion : Kamiyashiki.

2) 水力発電機！ / Hydro Generator!

登り始め / Starting to Climb

頭は、江戸時代に向かっていました。

ですが、突然、水力発電設備に出会し、びっくり！でした。

My brain was heading towards the Edo period.

However, I was surprised when I suddenly encountered a hydroelectric power plant!

歴史の小径と美術の小径へ続くであろう道の分岐点に、

水力発電設備があり、驚きました。

辰巳用水を作った土木技術の高さを引き継ぐ設備を

意識して作ったのでしょうか？

I was surprised to find a hydroelectric power plant 

at the fork in the road leading to the History Path and the Art Path.

Were they conscious of the facility that inherited the high level of 

civil engineering technology that made Tatsumi yōsui Canal ?

The water that flows down from Tatsumi yōsui Canal is used to turn
 a water turbine generator to generate electricity.

美術の小径
水路に沿って美術の小径はあります。
私は、この階段は登らず、
もう一方の階段・歴史の小径を登りました。

Art Path
There is the Art Path along the waterway.
I did not climb these steps, 
but climbed the other steps・the Historical Path.

登り終わったあとに、上から撮影しました。

緑がいい！/ Green is Lovely!

数カ所に本多家や石垣についての説明板があり、石垣を発掘する過程が写真とともに載せられています。

There are explanatory boards about the Honda family and stone walls in several places, and the process of excavating the stone walls is shown along with photos.

ベンチがあります。
私は利用しませんでした。

There is a bench.
I didn't use.

石垣らしいものが見えてきました。

Maybe stone walls are coming into view.

登ってきた階段を見る
See the Steps I Climbed

本来の石垣が発掘されましたが、それは埋め戻されて
保存されています。
本来の石段近くに、新しい切り石階段が整備されています。

The original stone walls were excavated
 but have been preserved by backfilling.
New quarried stone steps have been installed
 near the original stone steps.

水の音、蝉の声、木々、おまけにカラス(笑) 

The sound of water, cicadas callings, trees, and even crows (Laugh).

頂上に到着 
ここが本来、門でした。

Here was originally the gate.

ここにも説明板があります。
内容は、今までのものと同じです。
写真は違うので、ここに拡大して載せます。

登り道で良い運動になりましたし、緑も木々も楽しめました。

予想外の水力発電も見ることができ、もちろん、石段の発掘を知るのも面白かったです。

一人で、緑の中を登っていると、江戸時代の人もここをこうして登ったのだな〜と心が時を超えて行きます。

楽しい小径でした。

It was good exercise on the climbing path, and I enjoyed the greenery and trees.

I was able to see an unexpected hydroelectric power plant, and of course it was interesting to learn about the excavation of the stone steps.

Climbing alone in the green makes me think that people in the Edo period also climbed here like this.

It was the fun path.
