1) 生姜の花 / Ginger Flower

生姜の花が随分前から咲き始めていたのは知っていました。
いくつかはすでに散ってしまてもいました。
今日、撮影しなくては！と思い、ようやく撮影しました。
庭の植物を撮影することは、気に留めて、
愛することを植物につたえているように私は感じます。
なので、撮影しないと咲いていることを存在していることを
無視しているように思われてしまうのではと
勝手に心配してしまうのです。

Ginger Flower

I knew that ginger flowers started blooming a long time ago.

Some were already scattered.

I have to photograph today! 

I finally photographed.

I feel that photographing the plants in my garden is telling them

 that I care and love them.

So, if I don't take pictures, I worry that plants will think that 

they are ignored even if they are in bloom.

私は、この花を '生姜の花' と呼んでいます。

ショウガ科に属しますが、食用の生姜の花ではありません。

正確には、ハナシュクシャ (花縮紗)という名です。

甘い香りがします。

英名： Hedychium の俗名が "Ginger Lily"で、それを由来として、

'生姜の花'との日本でも呼ばれるようになったようです。

種も球根も植えてもいないのに、ある時、私の庭でこの花が咲きました。

そのとき、調べた時に、'生姜の花'と覚え、今でもそう呼んでいます。

綺麗に咲いてくれて、ありがとう！

Ginger Flower

I call this flower 'Ginger Flower' : 'Shōga-no-Hana'.

Although it belongs to Zingiberaceae, it is not an edible ginger flower.

The correct name is Hanashuksha in Japanese, Hedychium in English.

It smells sweet.

The common name of Hedychium is "Ginger Lily", and it seems that it came to be called 'Ginger Flower' in Japan.

One day this flower bloomed in my garden, even though we had not planted either seeds or bulbs.

At that time, when I looked it up, I remembered it as'Ginger Flower' : 'Shōga-no-Hana'.

2) 逆さリス / Upside Down Squirrel

逆さリス

鎌倉で見るリスはタイワンリス (台湾栗鼠) で、害獣扱いです。

ですが、その風貌からは、害獣と即座に思うことはできません。

毎日のように見かけますが、ついつい目で追ってしまいます。

今日は、逆さになって木の実を食べているリスを

動画で撮影しました。

顔が葉で隠れてなかなかみえませんが

最後にチラッと見ることができます。

Upside Down Squirrel

The squirrels we see in Kamakura are Taiwanese Squirrels 

and are treated as pests.

However, from its appearance, I cannot immediately think of

 it as a vermin.

I see one almost every day, but I can't help but follow it with my eyes.

Today, I took a video of a squirrel eating fruits upside down.

The face is hidden by the leaves, so you can't see it easily, 

but you can catch a glimpse of it at the end.

3) 鉢植え - 8月14日

    Potted Plants - 14th of August

8月14日、雨上がり、植物が元気に見えたので、久しぶりに鉢植えを撮影しました。

On 14th of August, after the rain, the plants looked healthy, so I took pictures of the potted plants for the first time in a while.
