1) 釉薬調整 / Glaze Adjustment
雪空シリーズの大皿が、本焼後によく割れました。
半分以上は割れてしまったように思います。
その原因が、作り方なのか、釉薬 (透明釉) なのかを探っていました。
その両方ということもありますが、釉薬の方に、より原因があるようでした。
それは違う釉薬を使用した場合、割れないからです。
現在ある透明釉と使用している磁器土の収縮率の違いで、ヒビが入ったり、割れたりおするのだと考えました。
収縮を抑える働きをするカオリンをすでに作ってあった透明釉に12g、足しました。
結果、やはり大皿は割れてしまったので、最後の大皿の焼成には違う釉薬を施しました。
その大皿は無事に焼き上がり、焼成後も割れませんでした。
この問題は、今回の個展までには解決できません。
個展後に、その解決を求めてゆくつもりです。

Glaze Adjustment
The platters of 'The Snow Sky Series' often broke after glaze firings.
I think more than half of them have broken.
I was looking for the cause, whether it was a method of making or my glaze (my transparent glaze).
It may be both, but the glaze seems to be more likely.
That's because it won't break if I use a different glaze.
I thought that the difference in shrinkage between the existing transparent glaze and the porcelain used would cause cracks or break.
I added 12g Kaolin, which works to suppress shrinkage, to the transparent glaze that was already made.
The result is that the platters still broke, so I applied a different glaze to the final firing of a platter.
The platter was fired safely and did not break after the firing.
This problem cannot be solved in time for this exhibition.
After the exhibition, I will seek a solution.
2) 新しいオブジェ / New Object
英国留学時代から、リングを用いたオブジェを制作し、そのシリーズの中でバリエーションを展開してきました。
個展間近になり、急にひらめき、新しいオブジェを作りました。
今後、どのように展開してゆくのかわかりませんが、何はともあれ、新しいオブジェの '初めの一歩'を踏み出しました。

New Object
Since studying in Britain, I have been making objects using rings and developing variations in the series.
As I approached my exhibition, I suddenly got an inspiration and created a new object.
I don't know how it will develop in the future, but anyway, I have taken the 'first step' with the new object.

本焼開始 窯 - No.1 'B-3' 設定 : 温度 1230°C、ねらし30分通常20分のねらしから30分に変えました。 これはオブジェのためではなく、 '雪空シリーズ' の大皿のためです。 釉薬調整の変化だけでなく、ねらし時間も変えて 試した焼成でした。 3月31日 Start Glaze Firing Kiln - No.1 'A-3' setting : temperature 1230°C, soak for 30 minutes. I changed from the usual 20 minutes soak to 30 minutes. This was not for the object, but for the platters of 'The Snow Sky Series'. It was a firing that I tried not only by changing the glaze adjustment but also by changing the soak time. 31st of March |

| 本焼終了 本焼焼成後、時間が経ってから大皿は割れることが多いのですが この焼成では焼成中に見事に割れてました。 個展という作品発表の時期は来ても問題は継続してゆきます。 問題解決はしなくとも、この問題が起きたことで いくつかの知識を得て、いくつかの試行ができたことは 良かったです。 制作の全てがルーティンワークになってはいけない と思っています。 4月2日 Finished Glaze Firing The platters often broke after a long time after the main firing, but in this firing, they broke splendidly during firing. The problem will continue even when the time for the exhibition, comes. It was good to have some knowledge and some trials because of this problem, even if I didn't solve the problem. 今回の個展のための焼成は全て終了しました。
前回は、個展開催中にも焼成を続けていましたが、それはやめました。
作品撮影や作品リストづくりなどなど、することはまだたくさんあります。
個展までの日々は、そういった事柄を片付けて行きます。
夫Rは、リング、食器の異物を取り除き、なめらかにする作業を続けています。

All firings for this exhibition have been completed.
Last time, I continued firing during the exhibition, but not this time.
There are still many things to do, such as photographing works and making a list of works.
In the days leading up to the exhibition, I will clear those things.
My husband R continues to work on removing and smoothing foreign objects on rings and tableware.
