1) 霊光寺 / Reikoji - Temple
私と夫Rは、鎌倉広町緑地に寄ったあと、
霊光寺 (鎌倉市七里ヶ浜1-14-5)
を訪ねました。
鎌倉広町緑地については下記。
鎌倉広町緑地から霊光寺まで は下記。
霊光寺には、日蓮 (1222 - 1282) の伝説が残る
'雨乞いの池' : 田辺池 (タナベガイケ)
があります。
霊光寺は、明治時代 (1868 - 1912) 末、
"1735年（享保20年）に造られ
「日蓮大菩薩祈雨之旧蹟地」( 日蓮大菩薩雨乞いの地)"
と書かれた石塔が出土したことによって、
開山されました。

| 霊光寺 / Reikoji -Temple |
Reikoji - Temple
After stopping at Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi,
I and my husband R visited
Reikoji Temple (1-14-5 Shichirigahama, Kamakura).
In Reikoji-Temple there is 'Rainmaking Pond' which has the legend of Nichiren (1222 - 1282) who was a Japanese Buddhist priest and philosopher of the Kamakura period (1185–1333), who developed the teachings of Nichiren Buddhism, a branch school of Mahayana Buddhism.

About from Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi to Reikoji-Temple, below.
A stone monument was excavated at the end of the Meiji era (1868 - 1912), on which was written
" 『Nichiren Daibosatsu Rainmaking Site』,
Built In 1735 (Kyoho 20th year)"
and then Reikoji-Temple was built.
In this section, about Reikoji-Temple, the next section will be about 'Rainmaking Pond'.

 山号は龍王山 山号は龍王山 (リュオウザン) 竜好きの私には嬉しい名前です。 Sangō is Ryuozanō ; Dragon King Mountain (Sangō was named for the sake of distinction, as temples of the same name were erected in various places.) It's a lovely name for me, who loves dragons.  山号額 山号額 (サンゴウガク) が落ち、文字部分が剥がれ、 木彫の竜も日蓮宗のロゴも外れ、脇に置かれていました。 台風で壊れてしまったのでしょうか？ Sangō-gaku Sangō-gaku : Sangō Sign fell, the letters have peeled off, the wood carving dragon and the Logo of Nichiren-shū were removed and set aside. | 門の裏側 門は閉じていますが外壁が中断され 常時寺へのアクセスは可能です。  Back of Gate The gate is closed, but the outer wall is interrupted and access to the temple is always possible.  鎌倉広町緑地の隣 鎌倉広町緑地には桜が咲いています。 Next to Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi Cherry blossoms are in bloom in Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi. |

| 本堂へは階段を登って行きます。 ここからは本堂は見えません。 Climb the steps to the main hall. You cannot see the main hall from here.  左の階段はなだらかな登りになっています。 行きは正面から、帰りは左の階段を使用しました。 The steps on the left are a gentle climb. We used the steps from the front and returned from the left. |

| さらに登ります！ 体力がない私はちょっと不安になりつつ登ります。 Climb further! I'm not physically fit, so I was a little worried when climbing. |

| 景色を見つつ、休みつつ登ります。 Climb while resting while looking at the scenery.  不自然に外壁が斬られているのがよくわかります。 I can see that the outer wall is cut unnaturally. |

| 脇道 私は脇道の先を見るのは好きですがここの 脇道はあまりに物理的に危険な感じでしたので 挑戦しませんでした。 Side Path I like to look beyond the side paths, but I didn't try this side path, because here was so physically dangerous. |
C. 日蓮像と石塔
Statue of Nichiren and Stone Monuments
階段の参道の途中に日蓮像がありますが、最初に後ろ姿を見ることになります。
お顔を拝見するには、回り込まなければなりません。

| 日蓮像 雨乞いの立ち姿を表しているのだと思います。 他の日蓮像は経典を持っていたり、人々に説法していたりしますが これは祈りに集中しているように感じます。 像は池の方角を向いているのですね。 私達はここでお辞儀をしてご挨拶しました。 Statue of Nichiren I think this represents the standing figure praying for rain. Other Nichiren statues have scriptures or preach to people, but this feels like he is focused on prayer. The statue is facing the direction of the pond, isn't it? We bowed and greeted here. |
There is a statue of Nichiren in the middle of the approach to the steps, but we see the rear view first.
We have to go around to see his face.

| 素敵な雰囲気 日蓮像の後ろに本堂への参道が続いています。 Lovely Atmosphere There is an approach to the main hall behind the statue of Nichiren.  背の高い石塔には 「日蓮大菩薩祈雨之旧蹟也」 とおそらく前面に彫られています。 (私が確認できるのは2面です) でもこれが出土した石塔とは思えません。  The tall stone monument is probably engraved on the front with the words "Nichiren Daibosatsu Rainmaking Site" in Japanese. (I can see only two sides) But I don't think this is the monument that was excavated. |

ここからの山道には、たくさんの石塔が設置されています。 霊光寺開山のきっかけとなった石塔が どこかに設置されているのではと思いましたが 私には見分けがつきませんでした。 また、実際にその石塔が設置してあるのかもわかりません。 Many stone monuments are installed on the approach to the main hall from here. I thought that the stone monument that triggered the opening of Reikoji-Temple was installed somewhere, but I couldn't tell. Also, I don't know if the stone monument is actually here. |

| 殆どの石塔は傾いています。 それが面白く感じます。 真っ直ぐなものよりも表情があるからでしょう。 Most stone monuments are tilted. I find it interesting. It's probably because they have more expressiveness than upright ones. |

| 参道 左は手水舎 (チョウズヤ) で、正面奥が本堂です。 Approach On the left is the Chōzuya, and ahead is the front of the main hall.  右下が雨乞いの池がある谷。 To the lower right is a valley with the Rain-making Pond. |

手水舎 / Chōzuya 可愛い感じの仏様です。 I feel this Buddha is pretty. |

| Rは手は洗いますが口はすすぎません。 私は、その場の雰囲気によって口をすすぐかどうかを決めます。 ここは手だけを洗いました。 R washes his hands but not his mouth. I decide whether to rinse my mouth depending on the atmosphere of the place. I washed only my hands here.  苔と影が綺麗です。 The moss and shadows are beautiful. |

| 本堂 創建には、大日本帝国海軍大将の 上村 彦之丞 (カミムラ ヒコノジョウ / 1849 -1919) の尽力がありました。 Main Hall It was founded by the efforts of Admiral Kamimura Hikonojō (1849 - 1919) of the Imperial Japanese Navy.  本堂の寺額 : "祈雨霊蹟"は上村 彦之丞の揮毫 (キゴウ) と聞いていましたが、それを見つけることはできませんでした。 山門額の惨状といい、寺額がなくなっていることと言い、 何かの被害にあったように推測されます。 被害の修復がされていないことに心を痛めつつ、 私は何もできません。 I heard that the writing of the temple sign of the main hall : "Rainmaking Site" was by Kamimura Hikonosuke, however, I couldn't find it. I could guess that the temple was damaged by something, because the temple sign has disappeared and the condition of the Sangō Sign.  龍がいる！/ There is a Dragon！  龍のレリーフ 壁に龍のレリーフが直接施されています。 直接施されていることが珍しいように思います。 Dragon Relief The dragon relief is directly applied to the wall. I think it is rare that it is applied directly. |

| 和の美 この椿がとても素敵に思え、和の美を感じ、 何枚も写真撮影をしてしまいました。 花の赤が良いアクセントになっています。 Beauty of Japanese For me, this camellia looked very lovely, I felt the beauty of Japanese , that I took many photographs. The red of the flower is a good accent.    計画したように美しく散っています。 It is beautifully scattered that is seems to be planned. |

| 本堂脇にはフェンスも植栽もなく、縁が谷に直接続いています。 怖くてそばに寄れませんでした。 There are no fences or plants on the side of the main hall, and the edge leads directly to a valley. I was scared and couldn't go close to the edge. |
3) 本堂裏 / Behind Main Hall
本堂裏には階段があり、裏山を登ってゆくことができます。
この裏山は鎌倉広町緑地の山でもあります。
There are steps behind the main hall, and you can climb the mountain.
This mountain is also a mountain in the Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi.

| 小さな神社？ 何を祀っているのかはわかりません。 龍神でしょうか？ Small Shrine? I don't know what they are enshrining. Is it a Dragon God?  |

| 登りの道は続いていますがフェンスはない、 道はすごく細い、 谷側に傾いている、 ということで進みませんでした。 ここは鎌倉広町緑地と地続きの山です。 The climbing path continues, but there is no fence, the path is very narrow, and it is inclined to the valley side, so we did not proceed. This is a mountain connected to Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi. |
