Look up at "The May Breeze" / "５月の風" を見上げると

1)"5月の風"を見上げると

昨日は一日中雨でしたが、
今日は晴れそう……。

早朝(午前６時前)、庭に出ると木々の音からも顔に当たる風の快さからも、
これは５月の風だな〜と感じ、
空を見上げました。

流れる雲のむこうで、これからもっと青くなるぞー！
という空がありました。

Look up at "The May Breeze"

Although it rained yesterday, today looks as though it will be fine. 

I got out into my garden early (before 6:00am),

I heard the sounds of the trees and I felt a comfortable wind on my face. I was sure that this is "The May Breeze".

Then I looked up at the sky, clouds were moving over,

I felt the sky said "Today, I will be blue!"

2)カラーとお福分け

昨年4月、英国から帰国したばかりで庭が空っぽのときに、実家の母の庭からやってきたカラーが今年は花をつけました。

カラーも私と同じで少しは鎌倉に慣れたのでしょうか？

葉が虫にちょっと食べられています。

ですが食べ尽くされない程度になら、少し”お福分け”をしてあげてもいいかしら？
と今は思います。

私は一般的に使用される”お裾分け”という言葉よりも、"お福分け”という言葉を気に入っています。

鎌倉の谷戸に住み始めてからは、
”虫との戦い”(虫撃退！)または、”虫との共存”
またはこの
”お福分け”
の間を行ったり来たりです。

庭にはナチュラル素材の木酸酢をまき、玄関や風呂場周りには虫除けの化学薬品をまくという矛盾した生活です。

なかなかその融合点は見つけ出せず……。

Lily of the Nile and Happiness Share

In April of last year, I came back from Britain and started living in Kamakura. 

So when my garden did not have enough plants, Zantedeschia aethiopica (common names Lily of the Nile, Calla lily, Arum lilys) came from my mother's garden. 

It looked fine, though it did not flower, however, this year it has a flower and a bud. 

I feel the plant, like me, has settled down here.

Insects bite some leaves, although I think I do not mind these small holes so long as they do not eat it all up. 

It is "Happiness Share". 

 I prefer this phrase to the traditional "Sharing our extra with you".

I have been between protecting against insects or fighting with them, and having coexistence with them or having thought of "Happiness Share", since I began living in a valley in Kamakura. 

I use organic vinegar for my plants, and insecticide around the entrance and around the bathroom window. It is difficult finding the correct answer for good living.
