1) 神戸へ / To Kobe
今回の関西旅行は、神戸に住む、 Sさんのグループ展があるからでした。
私が唯一務めたF社で、Sさんは、先輩でした。
私の英国留学後、開催した個展のほとんどに神戸からやってきてくれていました。
Sさんは、F社では事務職でしたが、"絵更紗 (エサラサ)" というお稽古事は長く続けており、そのグループ展もこれまで何度か開催しています。
彼女はほとんどの私の個展に足を運んでくださっているのに、私は今まで都合がつかず、1度しか彼女(達)の絵更紗展へ行ったことがありませんでした。
今回は、ぜひ伺いたいと思い、春からこの関西への旅行を計画していました。

| 新神戸下車 品川駅から新幹線に乗り新神戸で下車し、 神戸駅まで向かいました。 Get off at Shin-Kobe I took the Shinkansen from Shinagawa Station, got off at Shin-Kobe, and headed for Kobe Station.  |
To Kobe
This trip to Kansai was due to the group exhibition of S San, who lives in Kobe.
In F company, the only company I worked for, S San was my senior.
After my study abroad in Britain, she has visited most of my exhibitions, travelling from Kobe.
S San was a clerical worker in F company, but she has been practicing "Esarasa" for a long time, and has joined in several group exhibitions so far.
She has been to most of my exhibitions, but I have only been able to go to one of her Esarasa exhibitions.
This time, I would like to visit her exhibition, so I was planning a trip to Kansai from springtime.
Last time, the group exhibition was in Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, but this time it was at "Duo Gallery" in Kobe City.
The nearest stations are JR Kobe Station and Harborland Station on Kaigan Line which is one of the two lines of Kobe Municipal Subway.
(Kaigan means coast in Japanese.)

2) 絵更紗展 / Esarasa Exhibition

| 絵更紗展告知板 絵更紗とは、元井 三門里 (モトイ ミドリ/ 本名 : 元井 碧 / 1885 -1956) 氏 により京都で考案された染色方法のひとつです。 私には、かなり複雑な方法で制作されているように感じています。 少なくとも、私にはとてもできないと思っています。 Sign of Esarasa Exhibition the dyeing methods invented by Midori Motoi (1885 - 1956). I feel "Esarasa" is quite a complex method. At least I think that I could not do it. |
Sさんが言うには、
「糊は メリケン粉と焼明礬（ヤキミョウバン）、
色は 3原色 藍 [アイ(青)]、臙脂 [エンジ / (赤)])、黄、で簡単なはず」
とのことです。
According to S San,
"The method should be simple, because paste made of flour and potassium alum, and using the three primary colours :
Meriken powder and yaki alum, and the three primary colors: indigo (blue), red [deep red; maroon? (red)], and yellow.
That's it!"
絵更紗は生地であるため、バックやクッションなどへの展開が可能です。
制作者はほとんど女性です。
私にとっては、Sさんのグループ展でしか、見ることができない、貴重な絵更紗です。
残念なことに、若い後継者が現れず、高齢化が進んでいます。
後継者が現れると、いいですね。
Esarasa is a fabric, so it can be used for bags and cushions.
Most of the creators are women.
This was unique chance to see Esarasa that I can only see in S San's group exhibition.
Unfortunately, there are no young successors, and the society is aging.
It would be good if successors appear.

| 真ん中：Sさんの作品 クリスマスの風景を描いています。 上 : 雪の結晶が描かれる夜空。 サンタクロースがトナカイのひく空飛ぶそりに乗っています。 中 : クリスマスツリー、プレゼントと女の子 下 : 町の風景...西洋の街ですね。 構成のアイディアがいいな〜と思います。 Centre : S San's Work This depicts a Christmas landscape. Middle : Christmas tree, presents and a girl Bottom : A townscape... it is a Western town, isn't it? I think the idea of this composition is good. |
