After
seeing Todaiji Great Buddha Hall, we moved to Kasuga
Grand Shrine by sightseeing bus.

Kasuga
Shrine is Fujiwara
clan's Ujigami : is
a guardian god or spirit of Fujiwara
clan and is the total head shrine of Kasuga Shrine group where
there are about 1000 shrines in Japan.
Todaiji
Temple is Fujiwara
clan's temple, and Kasuga
Grand Shrine is Fujiwara clan's shrine, now I understand the scale of Fujiwara clan's power.
(I should feel ashamed to know about this now...?)

Origin
768年、今の地に社殿を造営して、
武甕槌命、
香取神 (下総国香取の神)の経津主命 (フツヌシノカミ)と、
枚岡神社(ヒラオカジンジャ) (河内国平岡)に祀られていた
天児屋根命 (アメノコヤネノミコト)とその后神、
比売神 (ヒメガミ) : 天美豆玉照比売命 (アメノミヅタテマテルヒメノミコト)
を併せ、祀ったのが、春日大社の始まりです。

私は万城目氏の作品は好きです。
Sitting Deer Temizuya
Temizuya is a Shinto (or Buddhist) water basin to wash hands
and mouth before visiting shrines (or temples).
Here I remembered a novel, "Shikaotoko-awoniyoshi : Deer Man"

When the capital city was transferred to Heijo-kyo in 710, Fujiwara clan's Ujigami :
Kashima God, "Takemikazuchi" was transferred to Mikasa Mountain in Nara and this God was enshrined as "Kasuga God", this became the predecessor of Kasuga Grand Shrine.
In
768, the Kasuga Grand Shrine's buildings were made in
the present place
and as well as "Takemikazuchi",
a God, "Futsunushi" of Katori Shrine,
and another God, "Ama-no-Koyane-no-mikoto"
and his wife, a Goddess, "Hemegami" of Hiraoka Shirine
were all enshrined here.
This is the origin.
Since it is said that the God, Takemikazuchi came on a white deer, deer are revered as divine messengers.

3) 閉門 / Gate Close
参道を登り、本殿前に到着した時には、重要文化財の回廊を使用する、特別参拝は、すでに閉門時間になっており、入ることはできませんでした。
今、思いますが、このツアーの企画は、ちょっと無理がありました。
欲張りすぎといいましょうか、詰め過ぎと言いましょうか...。
ツアーは基本的にその傾向はありますが、このツアーはいつもよりもまして詰め過ぎていたように思います。
ですが、添乗員さんが明るく、Rにも英語で話しかけてくれたり、説明を書いてくれたりしたので、ツアーへの印象はよく、旅行は楽しめました。
Gate Close
After climbing the approach road and arriving in front of the main hall,
using the corridor of important cultural properties, special visits
have already been stopped and we could not enter.

think now that the planning of this tour was too ambitious.

I call it too greedy, Shall I say it is overfilling ....?
Tours basically have that tendency, but I think that this tour was too packed, much more than usual.

However, the tour conductor was bright, she talked to R in English, she wrote explanations in English so the impression on the tour was good and we enjoyed the trip.
4) 夕飯 / Dinner
宿泊したホテルのレストランで食べました。
We had our dinner in a hotel restaurant.

お店ですすめていただいた奈良のお酒を二種類飲みましたが、
何を飲んだか忘れてしまいました。
美味しかったことは記憶しています。(笑)
We
drank two kinds of Nara's Sake which our waitress recommended,
though
I forgot what we had drunk.
I remember they were delicious. (Laugh)  |
