日本に帰国後、ブログ更新をし始めたのですが、2017年12月1日から、2ヶ月近く止まってしまいました。

本日(2018年1月25日)から、ブログ更新をします。

After I returned to Japan, I began updating my blog, but I stopped for nearly two months due to 'the busy year-end and new year' from the beginning of December, 2017.

1) ルーベンスの家  / Rubenshuis

ルーベンスの家 

'ルーベンスの家' は、アントワープにある、

ピーテル・パウル・ルーベンス / Peter Paul Rubens （1577-1640）の邸宅で

あり工房でしたが、現在は博物館です。

Rubenshuis ("Rubens House")

Rubenshuis ("Rubens House") is the former home and studio of 

Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) in Antwerp. 

It is now a museum.

ルーベンスは、私にはあまり馴染みがない画家です。

名前くらいは知っていましたが、博物館訪問後の今、彼の代表作さえも思い浮かびません。

弟子にアンソニー・ヴァン・ダイク /  Anthony van Dyck (1599 -1641) がいたということくらいしか、これといった記憶がありませんでした。

亡くなった後に有名になった画家が結構いますが、ルーベンスは存命中に成功し、多くの富を手に入れたことをルーベンスの家で知りました。

成功の要因は、彼の作品が宗教画で、顧客が教会や裕福層であったためでした。

1610年にルーベンスと彼の最初の妻、イザベラ・ブラント (1591 - 1626) は、この家を買い、ルーベンス自身が改築の設計をし、亡くなるまで住みました。

アントワープでは有名な観光名所ですが、現地の留学経験がある友人、

はっこちゃんは、ここよりも、世界遺産にもなっている、

の方がおすすめでした。

まあ、確かに、私もプランタン・モレトゥス 印刷博物館の方が感動しましたが、時間があるなら、ルーベンスの家を訪ねても、損をしたとは思わないと思います。

I am attracted by the drifting folds of the statue.

Rubens was a painter I do not know much about.

I knew about the name, although I can not imagine his masterpieces even after 
I visited there.

My only memory is that  Anthony van Dyck (1599 - 1641) was his disciple.

There are quite a few artists who became famous after their death, though 
I recognized Rubens succeeded in life and gained a lot of wealth in the Museum.

The main reason for the success was that his work was often religious painting and the customers were churches or wealthy people.

Rubens and his first wife, Isabella Barnt (1591 - 1626) bought the house which was modified by Rubens and he lived there until his death.

This house is a famous tourist attraction in Antwerp, although my  friend, Hakko Chan who studied in Antwerp, recommended a world heritage site, the Plantin-Moretus Museum, rather than here.

Well, indeed, I was also impressed by the Plantin-Moretus Museum more than here, though I think that if you have time, you would not feel that you have wasted time even if you do visit the House.

屋内 / Inside

家は、イタリア風の建築様式で、工房も併設され、弟子とともに幾多の絵画作品を制作する場所でした 。

屋内には、ルーベンスの絵画や彫刻のコレクションが展示されています。

展示品はルーベンスの作品もありますが、多くは彼のコレクション、弟子の作品または他のアーティストとの共同制作品であった印象でした。

The house is in an Italian architectural style, a workshop was also established, and it was a place to produce many paintings with his disciples.

Rubens' paintings, his collection of sculptures and paintings are displayed inside.

There are some of Rubens' paintings, however, my impression was that his collection, his disciples works or collaborative works with other artists were shown more than his own works.

半円形の彫刻の為のギャラリーは家を購入後に
ルーベンスが増築しました。

The semi-circular statue gallery was expanded 
by Rubens after purchasing the house.

英国留学当時から暖炉に関心があり好きなので
比較的頻繁に暖炉は撮影します。
もちろん、タイル (デルフト・タイル) にも興味があります。

I have been interested in fireplaces since I went to study in the UK,
 I relatively often photograph fireplaces.
Of course, I'm also interested in tiles (Delft tiles).

暖炉周りの小物やタイルも好きです。
I also like tiles and things around the fireplace.

込み入った木彫が皺伸ばしの圧力機(?)にまで施されていて、
ルーベンスの裕福さを感じます。

 Complicated wood carving is applied to the clothes press (?),
and I feel the wealth of Rubens.

'襞襟(ヒダエリ)' はこんなサポートがあったのですね〜。
病気の猫や犬がつける、'エリザベスカラー'を思い出しました。

I found that 'Ruff's had supports like this.
The 'Ruff' reminded me of 'Elizabethan collar' put on some sick cats and dogs.

この彫像がとても気になりました。
I was very curious about this statue.

2) ダイヤモンド博物館 / Diamond Museum

アントワープは、ダイヤモンドで有名なので、私達は、'ルーベンスの家' の前に、"ダイヤモンド博物館" に行きたかったのです。

グーグルマップにも現地の案内板にも、"ダイヤモンド博物館"の表示はあるのですが、実際の"ダイヤモンド博物館"を見つけることができなかったのです。

現地の人に聞くと
「ただの店が集まっているだけで、博物館というわけではないよ」
とのことで、結局、私達は諦め、'ルーベンスの家' へ行きました。

ベルギー出国後、探していた"ダイヤモンド博物館"は2012年に閉鎖されていることがわかりました。

ダイヤモンドの展示品は、"Museum aan de Stroom"（複合博物館MAS）で管理されているそうです。

そして、2018年5月に、"新ダイヤモンド博物館"  : ★ (英語) がオープンされるので、そのときにはそこに展示されるということです。

どうりで、探しても見つからなかったわけです。


Diamond Museum

Antwerp is very famous for Diamonds, so we wanted to go to the "Diamond Museum" before Rubenshuis ("Rubens House") .

There is a reference to "Diamond Museum" on both the Google map and the local guide board, however, we could not find an actual "Diamond Museum".

When we asked a local person,

"It's not a museum, just a group of shops."

In the end, we gave up and went to "Rubenshuis" .

After leaving Belgium, I found out that the "Diamond Museum" which we were looking for was closed in 2012.

They say that the exhibits of the Museum are managed by "Museum aan de Stroom" (MAS),

and in May 2018, the "New Diamond Museum : DIVA": ★ will be opened, so that at that time they will be shown there.

That is why we did not find it even though we looked for the Museum.
