梨木さんが渡り鳥の後を追い、日本の各地、ロシアの地を訪ねた記録です。

そのようなことも、梨木さんはこの本の中で
書かれていらしたと思います。
少なくとも私はこのような事柄が書かれていたと理解しています。

When they stay in the same environments, they are safe which gives them reserves of energy.
The energy could be used to help others, however, sometimes it is used to be cruel to others as their play.

2) 感想 / My Impression

子供のときにヒッチコックの"鳥"(映画 /1963 / 英語部分の画像参照) を見て以来、
鳥が苦手でした。
けれども、英国に行き、日常生活の中でかわいらしい鳥、
ヨーロッパこまどり (ロビン/ Robin/ 英国の国鳥 :上の写真) や
ミソサザイ (レン / wern) 、
クロウタドリ (ブラックバード/ Brack Bird)
などを見ることによって、いくつかの鳥には興味や愛着がわくようになりました。
また、昨年訪れたウォリック城のバードショーで白頭鷲を初めて見て、ヨーロッパの城と白頭鷲の図柄は様になるな〜とも思いました。
このような鳥への興味に変化があったので、私はこの本をとてもおもしろく読みました。

梨木さんは、細かな点にも目をとめ、いくつかの違った角度から捉え、違った立場の人々の気持ちに近づき、自分の足で目で確かめ、自分の答えを導きだします。
体験することがすべてだとは私は思いませんが、体験することでしか得られないものがあると思うのです。
ネットや活字または本でのリサーチもひとつの体験ではあります。
ですが、自分の足で目で得る結果は、ネットや活字をとおして報告される他人の目を通した結果と大きな違いがあります。
彼女はそういう事をもちろん知っています。

その'違い'が新しいものの見方や考え方を生む事も、個性になることも知っているのです。
彼女は繊細な感性を持ちながらも、センチメンタルな感情にはならず、自分の文章に酔うこともしていません。
繊細な感性を持つ人が陥りやすいこれらの傾向をフィールドワークをする事で防いでいるのだと私は思います。

さらに、彼女の殆どの作品 (本) がファンタジーであることを考えると、彼女のファンタジー作品は読者が思うよりも意味深いものであるのであろうと思います。

梨木さんは、ファンタジー作品は書かれていない様子。
私としては寂しい。]

でも、言い訳するならば、鳥や野生の鳥、とくに大型の鳥への関心がこういうバードショーによっておこる事が多々あるのではないでしょうか。

However, I went to Britain and there were lovely birds like robin,
black bird and wren in my environment and then I could love some birds.

Moreover, I visited Warwick Castle in Britain last year and I watched their bird show which was the first time I came across a bold eagle.
I was impressed that the bold eagle suits the castle which is a European type.

I am interested in some birds like that, so I really enjoyed reading this book.
The author stopped her eye on the detail of things, she observes them from some different points of view or is going to be close to people who have different position or environment and tries to find her answers by her feet and eyes.
I do not think everything should be learnt by experience, although
I think some things can only be gained by experience.

We can say we do research by Internet or by reading print that is a part of experience.
However, the result by own foot and eyes is quite different from the result of learning by Internet or books.
She understands this.
And also she knows that the difference enables new ideas and new ways of looking at things which become part of ones individuality.

She has delicate sensibilities, although she does not have sentimental feeling and is not addicted to her own writing.
I think she is protected from this vice by her filed work.

Furthermore, I consider about her works or books which are almost fantasy,
so I think her fantasy works have a deeper meaning than her readers realize.
[ Postscript in 2012;
I think she hasn't written any fantasy work since "f Shokubutsuen no Suana : The Burrow in f Botanical Gardens", published in 2006.
I feel sad.]
Even though the readers might not grasp all her meaning, her works have her thoughts and also the author and the readers have feeling of satisfaction about her work.
I took photograph of the bold eagle which is not wild, although I use them here.

体につやがなく、すごく疲れているように見えました。
I took photograph of them from our veranda 21st June 2011.
They seemed to finish their long travel,
because their feathers seem dull. |
