"ジョンズ・ガーデン" は、スター川
/ River
Stour に沿って位置しています。
スター川は、運河でもあります。
英国の運河は、灌漑(カンガイ)や運輸の面で発展しました。
多くの製造工場も運河沿いに建てられている(いた？)という印象があります。
全ての運河は、テムズ川に繋がっていると、どこかで読んだことがあります。
(実際はいくつかの運河は独立しています）
一時、廃れた時代がありましたが、最近では、観光の面で見直されているように感じます。
私にとっては、運河とボートの組み合わせは、非常に英国的な風景です。
"John's
Garden" is located along the River
Stour.
The
River is also a canal.
British
canals have developed in terms of irrigation and transport.
I
have the impression that many manufacturing plants are (or were) also built
along the canal.
I've
read somewhere that all canals are connected to the River Thames.
(Actually,
some canals are independent)
There
was a time when many were abandoned, but recently it seems that they have been revived in terms of tourism.
For me, the combination of canals and boats is a very British scenery.

| 写真ではわかりずらいですが、このカエルの置物は 大人が抱えるほど大きいのです。 大きな庭でこその置物、表情が好きです。 It's hard to see in the photograph, although the frog figurine is big enough for holding by an adult. This frog only suite a large garden I like his expression. |

| これは私が好きなアジアンタムでしょうか？ こんな大きなアジアンタムは見たことがありませんし、花もないはず...。 これはきっとアジアンタムではないのでしょう。 Is this my favorite Adiantum? I have never seen such a big Adiantum and there should be no flowers ... This is probably not Adiantum.
