こふくー8月15日 / Kofuku-15th August

お盆に、母がやって来ています。

なので、こふくさんへ行きました。

In Japan, there is Bon Festival, so my mother came to stay with me.

Today we went to Kofuku restaurant.

　いつも撮り忘れる看板を今日は撮影！
Always I forget to take a photograph of their sign.
Today, I did!

この過程が好き！
I like this path!

到着したのは、午後５時半すぎ。
It was nearly evening when we arrived.

写真右下に豚ちゃんの蚊遣器(かやりき)
きっと引き戸の開閉め時の蚊の侵入を防ぐためでしょう。
こういうこふくさんの気遣いに関心します。

　To the right of the door there is a 'pig' container for a mosquito coil;
in Japan it is traditional to use a pig-shaped vessel to hold 
a smoking mosquito coil, to drive away mosquitos.
I think when people open and close the sliding doors, 
it prevents mosquitos coming in.
Again, I feel admiration for their care.

I haven't had Sake for a long time.

予約時に、シェフのRさんに前回同様に、
ハモをリクエストしました。
前回は、ハモの湯引き梅肉和え、
今回は、ハモのくず寄せです。美味しかった！

When I booked for tonight,
I requested Hamo: Daggertooth pike conger  from chef R san.

上品な味の鮭の西京焼と栗！
日本料理は、季節の先取りですよね！

Delicate tasting Salmon with gentle miso taste,
and Chestnut!
Japanese cuisine takes advantage of the season, doesn't it?

なめらかなで品の良い、なめろう
Smooth and good quality Namero : Fish Tartar.

カシスのシャーベットと、お手製のわらび餅。
夏の甘味ですね〜！
デザート、いつもは一つですが、今日は二つ。
母を考慮してくださったのだと思います。
ありがとうございます。

They are summer sweets, aren't they!
Dessert usually is one sweet here, although today we have two.
I guess they considered my Mother.

母も喜んでくれたので、ホッ！

もしかしたら、今日が、９月の手術前に来れる、最後だったかも......。

９月の手術をすると半年ほどは、ここに来れません。

寂しい〜！

I was relieved that my Mother was so pleased there.

Maybe this was my last visit here before my operation in September. 

After the operation, I will not be able to come for about six months.
