In Japan, Iwanami Shoten published "Chisai Ouchi "(The Little House) [Translated : Momoko Ishii (1907 - 2008)) in 1981 as one of "Series of Iwanami no kodo no Hon (Iwanami's Books for Children)" and the picture book is still in print.

They guess she needed time when she could be herself in the sea-shack."

バートンの絵本は、絵本の王道という気がします。
なので、これからもずっと愛されてゆくように思います。
バートンのテキスタイルやグラフィックデザインの仕事を見ることができ、絵本への影響も感じられ、嬉しいことでした。
とても楽しい展覧会でした。

I think the Burton's picture books are typical of main stream picture books.
So, I think that they will be loved by people or children forever.
I could see the work of Burton's textiles and graphic designs, and I felt the impact on her picture books, I was glad.
The small sea-shack beside the sea reminded me of Tove Janson (1914 - 2001)'s hut on Klovharu Island in the Baltic Sea.
It was a very enjoyable Exhibition.
