1) 窓からの庭
The Garden From The Window
私は、2022年9月8日から10日、2泊3日の金沢旅行をしました。
金沢滞在中、毎日、金沢在住の友人、Sちゃんに会いました。
8日、9日は彼女の仕事が終わってから会いましたが、最終日の今日は、彼女は仕事がお休みでした。
8日、9日に金沢旅行は下記。

なので、今日は、午前中から行動を共にし、ランチは、森八本店の森八茶寮 (モリハチサリョウ) でとりました。
ランチを食べている間に窓から見た庭が、'寺島蔵人邸跡' (テラシマクランドテイアト) の庭で、私が興味をもち、行きました。
Sちゃんは以前、この庭の花 (ドウダンツツジ) の季節に訪れていましたが、私につきあってくれました。  |

The Garden From The Window
From September 8th to 10th, 2022, I travelled to Kanazawa for 3 days and 2 nights.
During my stay in Kanazawa, I met S Chan, one of my friends who lives in Kanazawa, every day.
On the 8th and 9th, I met her after she finished her work, but she was off from her work today, my last day.
About my trip in Kanazawa on the 8th and 9th, below.

2) 大手町 / Otemachi
森八本店と'寺島蔵人邸跡' は、背中合わせに立地しています。
森八本店は百万石通りに面しているので、寺島邸はその通りから一本奥へ入ります。
寺島蔵人邸のある大手町は、金沢城大手門跡から東北東に約230mに位置しています。
そこは、江戸時代 (1603 - 1868) は寺島邸と同規模の武家屋敷が並ぶ中級武士の居住地でした。
私は、そんな扱いの町名を初めて知りました。

OtemachiThe Morihachi main shop and the' Old Site of Mr. Kurando Terashima's House' are located back to back.
The Morihachi main shop faces Hyakumangoku Street, so Terashima House is one block away from that street.
Otemachi, where the Terashima House is located about 230m east-northeast of the Kanazawa Castle's Otemon Gate Site.
During the Edo Period (1603 - 1868), it was a residential area for middle-class samurai whose samurai houses were the same size as the Terashima House.
Currently, Otemachi is an independent town name, without any chome, (sub-divisions).
It was the first time I knew the name of a town treated like that.

百万石通り(ヒャクマンゴクドオリ)は
金沢城公園と兼六園を1周しています。
森八本店は、橋場交差点と兼六園交差点の間にあります。
寺島蔵人邸跡も同様です。
Yellow Line is Hyakumangoku Street.
Hyakumangoku Street runs around
Kanazawa Castle Park and Kenroku-en Garden.
The centre is Kanazawa Castle Park.
The Morihachi main shop is located
between the Hashiba intersection (right upper 〇 ) and
the Kenroku-en intersection (right bottom 〇).
The same goes for the Terashima Kurando House site.
I couldn't fine a map in English, sorry.

3) 寺島 蔵人 / Kurando Terashima
寺島 蔵人 (テラシマクランド / 1777 - 1837: ★) については、下の案内板を読んでください。(怠慢ですみません）
11代藩主、12代加賀前田家当主、前田 斉広 (マエダナリナガ / 1782 -1824) につかえました。
寺島蔵人は、真摯に藩主に仕えつつ、大変な文化人でした。
"蔵人は画家としても知られ、王梁元 (オウリョウゲン)、応養 (オウヨウ) と号し、浦上春琴 (ウラカミ シュンキン/ 1779 - 1846) や山本 梅逸 (ヤマモト バイイツ / 1783 - 1856) をはじめとする笑社 (ショウシャ) の文人と交流し、秀作を多数残している。 また春琴 (七弦琴 / シンゲンキン) の父・浦上 玉堂 (ウラガミ ギョクドウ / 1745 -1820) を自邸に招くなど、琴士としても知られている。"
笑社 (ショウシャ) は、文人の頼 山陽 (ライサンヨウ/ 1781 -1832) が 結成し、京坂の文人が集まり、一種のサロン(文人結社)です。
全国にネットワークが広がり、日本各地へ書画や煎茶の文化が拡がっていきました。

Kurando Terashima
For Kurando Terashima (1777 - 1837), please read the information board above. (Sorry for being lazy)
Kurando Terashima served the lord earnestly and was a man of great culture.
According to Japanese Wiki,(translated by me),
"Kurando was also known as a painter, calling himself Ouryougen and Ouyou.
He interacted with painters Urakami Shunkin (1779 - 1846),
Yamamoto Baiitsu (1783 - 1856) and others who belong to Shosha, and left behind many excellent works. He is also known as a koto player, having invited 'Father of Gugin', Urakami Gyokudō (1745 - 1820) to his residence. "
Shosha was formed by a cultured person, Rai Sanyō (1781-1832), and was a kind of salon (literature association) visited by literati from Kyoto and Osaka.
Later Shosha networks were made all over Japan, and then the culture of Japanese calligraphy and sencha ; green tea, spread across Japan.

4) 寺島蔵人邸 / Terashima House
A. 寄付 / Donation
寺島蔵人邸は、江戸時代の中級武家屋敷の様子を伝えるものとして、庭園を含め、
1974年、寺島蔵人邸は金沢市指定文化財史跡となりました。
史跡は、18世紀後半に作られた家屋、土蔵、土塀、庭園で構成されています。
そこが市の指定文化財史跡に認定されたとき、寺島蔵人の子孫がまだ家を所有していました。
きっと寺島家がそこまで持ち続けたので、当時のまま残っていたのではと考えます。
1988年に寺島家から金沢市に寄付されています。
寄付された子孫の方がそれらを非常に大切に思い、愛されたことが感じられます。
子孫の方、素敵な家と庭を寄付してくださり、ありがとうございました。

Donation
In 1974, the Terashima Kurando House was designated as a Kanazawa City Designated Cultural Property Historic Site, including the garden, as an example to convey the appearance of a middle-class samurai residence in the Edo period.
The site consists of a house, a storehouse, a mud wall, and a garden, all made in the latter half of the 18th Century.
A descendant of Kurando Terashima still owned the house when it was designated as a designated cultural property of the city.
Since the Terashima family continued to hold it for so long, I believe that it remained as it was at the time.
It was donated to Kanazawa City by Mr. Terashima in 1988.
I can feel that the donating descendant cherished and loved the house and garden very much.
To Mr. Terashima thank you for donating a wonderful house and garden.

企画展は開催されていましたが、私は初めて寺島蔵人邸を訪ねたので、家や庭に興味が行き、展示作品へあまり意識が向きませんでした。
それは、展示作品が悪いというわけではなく、訪れる前から庭への興味があり、訪れた後は、家が魅力的だったので、そちらに心がもってゆかれてしまったのです。
そのうえ、
'絵画が2点ずつ前後期に分けて展示室にて展示する。
座敷と茶室には、他2点の複製を展示する'
とチラシに書かれているのですが、鑑賞中に、この文面に気がつきませんでした。
今思い返してみると、いったいどこが展示室だったのか、私にはわかりませんし、自分が見た絵のどれが本物で、どれが複製品なのか、見当がつきません。

Tokonoma of 13 Tatami Room Tokonoma is a recessed space in a Japanese-style reception room, in which items for artistic appreciation are displayed. I thought the replica was the real thing. I was disappointed when I found from the description that it is a duplicate. |
Although the exhibition was being held, it was my first visit to the Kurando Terashima House, so I was interested in the house and the garden, and didn't pay much attention to the exhibited works.
It's not that the exhibited works are bad, but that I was interested in the garden before I visited, and after visiting, I was attracted to the house because it was attractive.
In addition, the leaflet says that
'Two paintings will be displayed in the exhibition room, divided into the first half and the second half.
Two other reproductions will be exhibited in the tatami room and the tea room. however, while I looked at them, I didn't notice the comments.
When I looked at them I believed they were genuine articles, although once I found an explanation saying this is a duplicate, I was disappointed.
In retrospect, I have no idea where the exhibition room was, and I have no idea which of the paintings I saw were real and which were reproductions.

この企画展の最も押しの絵の1つです。
これは複製品に違いありません。
黄松琴処 (コウショウキンドコロ) の入り口に
展示されていました。
Portrait of Urakami Gyokudō
By Shunkin Urakami (1779 - 1846) This was one of the most recommended paintings in this exhibition. This must be a duplicate. This displays the entrance of Koushokin-dokoro : Japanese Red Pine Room. 
黄松琴処
(コウショウキンドコロ)
玉堂が七弦琴を弾くために蔵人が増築したとされる
4畳の部屋です。
蔵人自身が琴士 (コトシ) でもありました。
Koushokin-dokoro : Japanese Red Pine Room This is a 4 tatami mat room that Kurando added for Gyokudō to play the Gugin. Kuraundo himself was also a Gugin player. |

桧 (ヒノキ) の網代 (アジロ) に竹で縁取りを施し、
持ち手をつけています。

Edo Period (18th-19th Century)
Kurando loved the paint kit hamper.
The wickerwork (Ajiro) of the cypress is bordered with bamboo,
and a handle is attached.
