1) 水平線ギャラリー / Suiheisen Gallery
私と夫Rは、若宮大路 (ワカミヤオオジ) の散策から、御成通りへ続く脇道へ入りました。
若宮大路の散策については下記。
その通りには、 水平線ギャラリーがあります。
そこでは、'三者三様展' が開催されていました。
友人の版画家、よしざわようこさんが参加していたので、彼女の作品を見にゆきました。
よしざわようこさんも鎌倉在住で、ほかの二人の作家さんも鎌倉在住のようでした。
ほかの方の作品は初めて見ました。
Suiheisen Gallery
I and my husband R entered a side street leading to Onari-dori Street from a walk on Wakamiya Ōji Street .
On that street is Suiheisen Gallery (Suiheisen means horizon in Japanese).
There, the 'Three Person Exhibition' ; Three Different Styles was being held.
A printmaker, Yoko Yoshizawa who is one of our friends, was participating, so we went to see her work.
Yoko Yoshizawa also lives in Kamakura, and it seems that the other two artists also live in Kamakura.
This is the first time we've seen the works of the other two.

帰り、直接ギャラリーへやってきたそうです。
このグループ展開催にあたっては、他のお二人にまかせきりになってしまったと言っていました。
私達もこのグループ展は鎌倉の蕎麦屋さんにおいてあったDMで
知り、彼女からのDMで知ったわけではなかったのです。

Yoko Yoshizawa
Yoko had been busy with her private life, so she came back from the San'in region and came directly to the gallery on this day.
In holding this group exhibition, she said that she had left everything up to the other two.
We also found about this group exhibition from the invitation-card in a soba restaurant in Kamakura, not from the card from her.

彼女はたくさんの作品をすでに制作しています。
そのなかから、このギャラリー、この展覧会にあわせて、作品傾向や小さめのサイズを選択していると感じました。
彼女のモチーフは、ほとんどが自然界に生きる動物です。(犬猫ではない)
多くの場合、私達人間は、遠くからそられの動物達を見ます。
が、彼女の動物達は人間に興味があり、人間の近くに寄ってきているように感じます。
手をのばせば、その動物達を触れる距離。
それは、彼女が動物達を近くに感じているからだのではないかと思います。
彼女は動物達の中にいるのですね。

She has already made many works.
From among them, I felt that she selected the tendency of her work and the smaller size to match this gallery and this exhibition.
Most of her motifs are animals that live in nature. (not dogs and cats)
In many cases, we humans see stray animals from afar.
However, her animals are interested in humans and feel that they are getting closer to humans.
If I reach out my hand, I could touch the animals.
I think it's because she feels close to animals.
She is among animals, isn't she?

十二支の一つ、辰 (タツ) One of Twelve |
私達は、彼女の版画・"ドラゴン"を持っています。
この作品は十二支のシリーズの1つ、辰 (タツ) として制作されました。
We have her print "Dragon".
This work was produced as one of Twelve Earthly Branches series, Tatsu.
According to Wikipedia about Twelve Earthly Branches,
"The twelve Earthly Branches or Terrestrial Branches are an ordering system used throughout East Asia in various contexts, including its ancient dating system, astrological traditions, and zodiac."

3) 中島 悦子 / Etsuko Nakajima

| 中島悦子 画 中島悦子さんは小学校の教員をされ退職後個展やグループ展を ひらかれているようです。 カラフルで力強い作品群に感じます。 近代美術の西洋絵画を彷彿させます。 Pictured by Etsuko Nakajima Etsuko Nakajima was a primary school teacher and has held solo and group exhibitions after her retirement. I feel her works are colorful and powerful. They are reminiscent of Western modern art paintings. |
4) 山口 英夫 / Hideo Yamaguchi
山口 英夫さんは、美術教師をされているようでした。
お話はしませんでしたが、笑顔が多い人生をおくられている方のような印象を持ちました。
作品はすべて海を描いていて、彼の海を見る生活が感じられました。
海を見ると海の表情の違いが面白く、ずっと見ていたくなり、その場にずっといたくなるのを私は感じます。
彼もそんな気持ちであり、海に惹かれて描き続けているように感じました。

Hideo Yamaguchi
Hideo Yamaguchi seemed to be an art teacher.
He didn't talk to me, but I got the impression that he lived a life full of smiles.
All his works depict the sea, and I could feel his life looking out at the sea.
When I look at the sea, the different expressions of the sea are interesting, and I feel that I want to look at it all the time and stay there all the time.
I guessed he feels the same way, and I felt that he continued to draw because he was drawn to the sea.
