この部屋では、彫刻家、アレキサンダー・ムンロー/ Alexander Munro (1825 -1871) のコレクションの展示をしていました。
彼は、詩人で、ラファエル前派の画家、
ダンテ・ゲイブリエル・ロセッティ / Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828 -1882)
と親交がありました。

The Oak room. exhibited the collection of a sculptor, Alexander Munro (1825 -1871).
Munro had a friendship with Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828 -1882) who was a poet and a Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood painter.

この展示のテーマなのか、ムンローのコレクションの方向性か、ロセッティの意図なのかわかりませんが、死をテーマにした作品が多く展示されていました。
あまり、意欲的に見る気になれませんでした。
でも部屋のインテリアは可愛らしいのです。
I

Munro's collection or Rossetti's intention but there were many works
on the theme of death.

ロセッティは画家であり、詩人でした。
この資料は彼の詩集についてでしたが、私は撮影のみで読んでいません。 ロセッティが生きている間は、画家よりも詩人であることが知られていました。 また彼はイタリア人でしたが、一度もイタリアには 行ったことがありませんでした。 Rossetti was a painter and poet. This material was about his collection of poems, but I haven't read it, I just photographed. While Rossetti was alive, he was known to be a poet rather than a painter. And he was an Italian, but had never been to Italy.  |

-1982)] seems to be a fantasy work, so I would like to
read it after returning to Japan...of course Japanese edition!

この部屋は"Indian Bird Bedroom".
駆け抜けるように見たので記憶がありません。
この部屋のせっかくのモリスの壁紙やモーガンのタイルの記憶が、
ありません...(涙)。

I don't have any memories because I saw it as if I was going through it.I have no memory of precious Morris wallpapers or Morgan tiles in this room....(tears).  |

この部屋には、シメオン・ソロモン / Simeon Solomon (1840 - 1905) がコレクションされていますが私は気がつきませんでした...というか、この画家も知りませでしたし、この部屋さえもほとんど記憶に残っていません。
シメオン・ソロモンについて(Wikiより）
"シメオン・ソロモンは （Simeon Solomon, 1840年10月9日 － 1905年8月14日）19世紀イギリスの画家で、ラファエル前派の一員に数えられる。
彼は正統派ユダヤ教徒という出自と、同性愛者として逮捕され没落していった悲劇の画家として知られている。"
In this room there is a collection of Simeon Solomon (1840-1905), but I didn't notice ... I didn't even know the painter, and I almost didn't remember this room.
According to Wiki about him,
"Simeon Solomon (9 October 1840 – 14 August 1905) was an English painter associated with the Pre-Raphaelites who was noted for his depictions of Jewish life and same-sex desire.
He was shamed and shunned after he faced criminal charges for engaging in sexual activity with a man."
