今夏、チェコ旅行へ出かけた 際には、ガトウィック空港 / Gatwick Airport まで電車を利用しました。
けれでも、英国の電車は高く、突然ホームが変わっていたり、行き先が変わっていたりし、なおかつ、駅員さえもそれを理解していないので、間違った情報を私達に与えることがあります。
さすがに担当の駅員は理解していますけれど、こちらは誰が担当なのかわからないので、ユニホームを着ている人、誰にでも尋ねますよね、駅員として。
それをチェコ旅行の際には (英国で) 味わったので、私達の場合は、料金もたいして変わらないので、今回は自宅からタクシーで向かいました。
ところが、向かう途中、並木道の木が風雨で倒れ、道を塞ぎ、突然の交通渋滞！（涙）
余裕をみて家を出ていたので、フライトの時刻には間に合いました。
殆どのフライトは、余裕を見た分、空港で時間を持て余していまいます。
ですが、チェコ行きもウィーン / Vienna 行きも、ガトウィック空港では、走るまではしなくとも、持て余す時間もありませんでした。
こういう経験をすると、やっぱり、'余裕をみて'というのは正解なのです。

| 深緑 : オーストリア共和国 面積は北海道と同じくらいで、アルプス山脈が国土の3分の2を占めます。 え〜っ知らなかった〜！ Deep Green : Republic of Austria The land area is similar to Hokkaido in Japan and two thirds of the country is in the Alps. Wow! I did not know it!  オーストリア国旗 レオポルド５世 (1157 - 1194 / 在位1177 - 1194) が十字軍参加の折(1192頃)、 敵の返り血を浴びて全身赤く染まったけれども、 剣を下げていたベルト下部分だけは白く残ったという伝説があります。 それが、赤・白・赤のオーストリアの国旗のデザインの由来と言われています。 が、この由来はあまり信用されていないようです。 赤の色が戦い (戦争) から由来しているのは、大方信じられているようです。 中央ヨーロッパに位置するこの国は、 他国との戦いの中にあったというのが感じられます。 日本の国旗も赤と白の組み合わせですが、その名の「日の丸」が示すように、 赤は太陽から由来しています。 日本国内に限っていえば、比較的平和な歴史なのだと思います。 Austria Flag
They say when Leopold V (1157 - 1194 / reign 1177 - 1194)
was in the Crusades (c 1192), he had a splash of blood although when he removed his belt the cloth underneath was untouched and then
the flag's combination of red-white-red.
This story does not seem to be trusted so much,
although it seems to be believed that the red colour came from blood in wars. This country is located in Central Europe and I feel the country had been in wars. Japanese National Flag's combination is of red and white too, although its name : Hinomaru ; Sun Circle shows the red comes from the Sun. To Gatwick Airport
When we had Czech Trip this summer we used trains to Gatwick Airport.
However, in Britain, the train charges are expensive, suddenly change platform or destination and also even station staff do not know the changes and give us wrong information.
A staff in charge knew about it, although we do not know who is in charge so we ask every person who wears the uniform of station staff.
We had had these experiences after our Czech trip, so this time we used a taxi from our house to the Airport and the cost is similar to the train for us.
However, on our way, a tree of a tree‐lined road had blown down and the road was blocked so suddenly it made traffic congestion (tears).
We had left our home in good time so we could get our flight.
Usually we have long waits in an airport as we are there in good time.
However, when we had Czech or Vienna trips although we did not have to run we did not have wasted time.
After these experiences, we knew again, it is correct having time to spare.

B. ウィーン国際空港 / Vienna Airport
前回でいろいろ懲りたので、使用したくなかったのですが、体験した時にはすでに購入済みで仕方なく今回も使用しました。
同じ航空会社なのに、仕様が多少違い、今回の方がマシでした。
帰りは帰りで、ウィーン国際空港 / Vienna Airport (公式サイト : 英語★)で、
イージージェットの搭乗ゲートへの案内表示に従って移動したのに、かなり歩いた先で、迷子になってしまい、どきどきしました。

ゲートに到着しても、疑心暗鬼で、Rがスタッフに尋ねましたし、他の方々も、
ここで良いのかと列の人に尋ねたり、ゲート到着後に安堵の表情を見せたりする人がかなりの数いらしたので、きっと、これは表示に問題があるか、
イージージェットがひどい扱いを受けているか、その扱いを改善する気もない格安会社の姿勢もあるのでしょうなどなどと、私は思ったのでした。

Vienna Airport
As for the Czech Trip, we used easy-Jet, a British low-cost airline.
In Czech trip I found a few things to our cost about easy-Jet, and I would not use it again although by the time I found them, we had already bought the tickets, so we cannot help it.
Even though it was the same airline, the flying was slightly better.
Actually when we wanted to get to the boarding gate in the Vienna Airport (★) and followed the signs and walked a very long way and then we became lost there for a while and upset.
Even though we got there we still wondered and R asked a staff, other people asked the earlier passengers or when they got there their faces also seemed to be relieved so I thought the reasons were the signs were wrong or easy-Jet has been treated badly or the company would not improve about the treatment and so on, so on....

| 空港の駅で チェコ旅行のときと同様に、チケット売り場でチケットを購入し、 使用開始時に日時のプリントをホーム近く、またはホームでします。 英語表示でないけれど、機械のデザインがチェコと似ているし、単語もそれとなく 察しがつきます。 けれでも、私には自信がもてませんでした。 でも、Rはさっさと試して成功。 失敗したらどうしよう...チケットが使えなくなったらどうしよう.... という心配が先にたつ、日本人根性がしみついている私を こんなところで感じます。 シティー・エアーポート・トレイン (CAT) を利用すると、 16分でウィーンの中心地 (ウィーン・ミッテ駅 / Bahnhof Wien Mitte) に 到着します。 でもそれは私達には高いので、行きも帰りもローカル電車(S7)を使用しました。 15~20分程度しかかわりませんので、地元の方はこちらを利用しているようです。 At the Airport Train Station As in Czech Trip, we bought train tickets at a counter and when we started using the tickets, we printed the date and time by their machines which are close to the platform or on the platform. The signs are not in English although we could guess because the design of the machine is similar to Czechs' and the spelling somehow similar to English.... However, I did not have confidence in my guessing although R tried it quickly and succeeded. I felt I take root of the character of Japanese which we are likely to worry after trying to do something, if I fail and could not use the tickets at this time. If you use 'City Airport Train' : CAT, you could get to the centre of Vienna (Bahnhof Wien Mitte) in 16 minutes. However, it is quite expensive for us, both ways we used local trains : S7. The time is 15~20 minutes different only, so the locals seem to use this more.

中心地で使用可能で、８日分あります。二人で4日分として使用しました。
We can use around the Centre for 8 days. We use it for 4 days for 2 people.

2) 空港から / From the Airport
飛行機が空港に着く前の景色から、広く広がる農地が見えました。
アルプス山脈が国土の3分の2を占めるのに、農地は国土の37,7%なのだそうです。
日本の農地は、12%。

I saw a huge area of farmland from the airplane before Vienna Airport.
I heard that two thirds of the country is in the Alps and that the farmland is 37.7% of the National land.
The area of farmland in Japan is 12%.

| 工場がピカピカ！ 日本の工場は錆びている部分がありますが、ここで見る限りの景色の工場は みな、輝いています。 日本より、どこもかしこも清潔な感じが、このあたりからします。 日本の錆びた工場も、かっこ良く私には感じられますので、 それはそれで素敵な部分です。 Factories are Shiny! The factories of Japan often have rusted parts, but in this country, all the factories I saw from the train were completely clean. I feel everywhere in the country is cleaner than Japan from what I could see. The rusted factories of Japan are cool for me, so they are alright in themselves. |

| 車内ももちろん、綺麗！ 人がいないのは人口密度が低いから？ それとも単に時間帯のせいでしょうか？ Of course here is clean in the train. There are hardly any people because population density is low? Or just simply the time of day? |
